Although our country’s history, culture, terrains, and achievements make anyone feel proud, the power struggle for the politicians, previous kings, and presidents have made the country weak and fall in the developing country category. Our rich natural resources have not been utilized and we have fallen way behind. Corruption is widely prevalent in our country and the loans we have taken from other countries are in a large number. The amount of food and other materialistic consumption has made Nepal import more and export less.

Our country is poor but the people here are rich. This is because of the corruption and the illegal working/trading that has been done. The government has not made significant progress and the people aren’t responsible. Although I feel proud to be A Nepali, the condition of my country makes me feel bad. People should feel responsible and carry out their duties and not just complain about the government.

The government too should implement proper policies and rules and enforce them accordingly. Utilization of our natural resources should be done in an effective way and social evils such as discrimination according to castes and genders, other superstitions should be slowly removed. Centralized development should stop and we should control the people moving out to other countries with their skills that are wasted abroad. This way we can slowly develop our country.

Essay on My Country Nepal

author

Akancha Chhetri

Content Writer | Updated: March 26, 2024 12:45 NST

Nepal is a landlocked country with highly diverse and rich geography, culture, and religions. It is situated in South Asia on the lap of the huge Himalayas surrounded by India in the east, south, and west and China in the north. It occupies an area of 147,516 sq. km . with an average of 193km wide from North to South and an average length (East to West) is 885km. It provides a variety of geographical structures owning a large number of natural gifts.

Geographically, Nepal is divided into three regions. The mountain regions, Hilly and Terai regions occupy about 15%, 68%, and 17% of the total area of Nepal respectively. Nepal owns many snow-capped lofty mountains. The highest peak in the world, Mt.Everest attracts thousands of tourists every year. For administrative purposes, Nepal has been divided into seven provinces, and the provinces are divided into 77 districts. the districts   are further divided into municipalities and rural municipalities.

The magnificent mountains in the north, undulating slopes, passes, swift-flowing crystal-like rivers, lakes, valleys, tars, etc are attractive things that identify Nepal as a piece of heaven. It has been a major choice of a large number of foreign tourists for the last few decades. The world's highest mountain Mt. Everest, called the roof of the world identifies Nepal throughout the world. It also possesses a lake at the highest altitude, the deepest gorge, and so on.

We are renowned around the globe for not only our natural heritage but also for our cultural heritage. The major heritages that are listed in the World Heritage List such as Lumbini, Chitwan National Park, Sagarmatha National Park and many more introduce us as prosperous people of small heaven. Moreover, one can see several temples, and Kathmandu is a city of temples.

It is the land that gave birth to world-famous persons. Gautam Buddha, the preacher of peace and founder of Buddhism, Prithivi Narayan Shah, the builder of modern unified Nepal. Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, the first human to reach the summit of Mt. Everest with Hilary, etc. were those who possessed to Nepal. Not only them, but brave soldiers such as Bal Bhadra Kunwar, Amar Singh Thapa, Bhimsen Thapa, and others demonstrated extraordinary bravery in preventing the British empire from colonizing Nepal.

Though Nepal is a multi-lingual, multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, multi-religious country, there has not been any conflict between any group in the name of language, religion, or ethnicity. the unity among diversity that is prevalent in Nepal proves that Nepalese are cooperative and peace-loving. It also inspires other nations to follow its people's harmonious unity. Nepalese people respect guests as their gods since there is a popular belief that  "Atithi Debo Bhawa". It is a strong example to prove that Nepalese are spiritually rich though they are economically poor. Nepalese people love freedom and democracy. That is why they have fought several times for democracy through their leaders deceiving them time and again. Recently, Nepal has been declared a republic country and promulgated a new constituent.

my country my pride essay 150 words

Nepal is a beautiful country in the laps of the Himalayas and is well known all over as a world. Nepal is the country of Lord Buddha’s; it is the homeland of the brave Gorkhas, a country bestowed with maximum cultural and natural decorum. Very few places on earth can rival the beauty and rarity of Nepal. The beautiful snowcapped mountains in the north, the high and lowland valleys and the plain, fertile land of the Terai — all these have proved to be a boon of nature to Nepal.

The rich culture, tradition, arts, civilisation have made people recognised Nepal all over the world as a country rich in cultural heritage. Nepal possesses a great and glorious history made by the brave sons and daughters of Nepal. The people of this holy land are beautiful and gentle creations of God whose hearts are pure and filled with an unshakeable bravery and patriotism.

Belonging to different castes, culture, race and ethnicity, Nepalese are united. Though a Hindu nation other religions gets equal respect, protection and tolerance here.

But today the darkness of terrorism, hatred, violence, poverty and misery has overshadowed the lives of people in Nepal. — Sujeena Shakya, Class 10, Little angels’ school

Essay on My Nepal, My Pride [For College and School Students]

Essay on  My Nepal, My Pride is often asked at schools and colleges examination in Nepal.  The following essay on “My Nepal, My Pride” is a sample essay for school a college students. We will be uploading different versions of the essay over time.

[# Sample 1]: Essay My Country Nepal (327 words)

My country, Nepal, is situated between two enormous countries: India and China. It is famous all over the world because Mt. Everest, the highest peak in the world, is here. Even though Hindus constitute more than 80% of the population, minorities are never overlooked. It is called the land of natural beauty because it has been covered with green forests, hills, mountains, and valleys.   I am proud of my country because it was never subjugated or dominated by any other country, even in the era of colonization. There were 22 or 24 sets of states in Nepal, which were unified by the King of Gorkha, Prithvi Narayan Shah. It was called Nepal, with its capital in Kasthmandu, presently known as Kathmandu. Jungbahadur Rana established the Rana Dynasty, which ended after 104 years. Later, the monarchy came, which was finished in 2063. Now we are practicing it as a pure democratic country. My country has been divided into three geographical zones: Terai, Hills, and Mountains, including Valleys. The culture of one place does not completely resemble that of another. The wear, food, and standards of living also differ. There is a difference in language, too. Religious tolerance exists among people of various ethnic groups: Hindu festivals are celebrated by Muslims and others. Similarly, Hindus also participate in the festivals of minorities. There is no history of communal riots in my country.   I am more proud that the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, Kapilvastu (Lumbini), is here. He established Buddhism, which is followed approximately all over Asia and partly on other continents, too. Janakpur is well-known for giving birth to Sita, the incarnation of the goddess Laxmi.   Thus, I am proud of my country because it is a source of inspiration for the whole world. It has its glory and natural history that can bring it up more and more, and my pride will be spreading day by day. I'll proudly say I am Nepali, and my country is Nepal.

[# Sample 2]: Essay Our Country Nepal (324 words)

Our country, Nepal, is a landlocked country. It is located in South Asia, between two massive countries, China and India. India lies to the south, east, and west of Nepal, whereas the Chinese autonomous region of Tibet lies to the north. It is divided into three distinct geographical zones: the highest Himalayan range, the hills, and the low-land hills. It is an agricultural country full of natural resources. The highest peak, Mt. Everest, is in Nepal.

Life in a mountainous region is extremely difficult. There is a lack of transportation. So people living there rely on air transport. Cultivation is also very difficult, so it is famous for the husbandry [cattlekeeping] occupation. Hilly areas contain some road facilities. They have stair-like fields for cultivation. But the lowland region is an appropriate place for good cultivation. The cultivation and products from it vary according to place and climate. In the Himalayas, it is very cold. In hilly areas, it is temperate, but in the low-land hills (terai), it is sometimes too hot and sometimes too cold.

Our country is called the second-largest country in the field of water resources. There are many rivers in our country. They are the Mechi, the Mahakali, the Seti, the Koshi, the Bagmati, the Kamali, the Narayani, the Gandaki, the Rapti, the Bheri, etc. But we don't get many advantages from it. Similarly, it is full of natural resources, but we are unable to take advantage of them due to a lack of money, good technology, and strong will. There are only a few factories in our country. But we are unable to provide them with electricity to run them smoothly.

We must be willing to utilize natural resources to develop our nation; we should advertise its beauty all over the world so that lots of tourists can come here. We should also try to save its beauty. We should take an oath to maintain unity among its citizens forever.

“Mother and motherland are greater than heaven.”

It is a true statement. We are born in a country that is full of natural beauty. We are highly patriotic. We love our nation more than our soul. The country is like heaven to me. My country’s name is Nepal. It is derived from two magical words, “ne” and “pala.” The word Nepal means the country of peace and love. This is the country where Lord Gautam Buddha, the ‘Light of Asia,’ was born. This is the country of the Bir Gorkhalis. The highest peak in the world, Mount Everest, is located in this country, which places our country at the top.

There are many mountains in my country; therefore, it is called a mountainous country. Many rivers flow from the mountains to the hills and the plains of the Terai. My country, Nepal, is divided into three geographical regions and five development regions. The national flower of the country is rhododendron, the national bird is Danphe, the national color is simrik, and the national weapon is the khukuri. My country, Nepal, which may be very small on the world map, but to me, whether it is small or big, it is my world. Many national personalities were born in this country, such as Prithivi Narayan Shah, Bahadur Shah, Rajendra Laxmi, and so on.

The history of the country Nepal is very powerful. All the pages of history are filled with the hot and red blood of national heroes. My country, Nepal, is like a gem between two big stones; it is situated between the two largest countries, India and China. Nepal is divided into many ethnic groups, making it a multi-caste, multi-culture, multi-tradition, and multi-religious country. Despite different castes, people here live in ‘unity in diversity’ without fighting in the name of culture, religion, caste, and so on.

They live in a peaceful environment. The country is blessed with natural beauty that attracts many tourists, and the number of tourists is increasing day by day. Tourists are drawn to the country, which helps boost the country’s economic status. The foreign currency left by tourists in the country contributes to its development. We, the Nepalese people, do not need big buildings or expensive things. We find happiness in the smell of rhododendrons and the natural beauty that our country offers. We all know the great saying, “Hario ban Nepal ko dhan” which means that the green forests are the wealth of the country.

More than 80% of the total population depends on agriculture, making the country an agricultural country. Many rivers, green forests, mountains, lakes, etc., make the country stand out. My country, Nepal, is like heaven to me. I love my country very much. I am proud to say that I am Nepali, and my country, with its natural beauty, is everything I desire. We, Nepalese people, are ready to sacrifice for our country, and we feel extremely proud to be Nepali. So, we say that our country is our pride.

Feature image of Short Essay on Our Culture Our Identity

Short Essay on Our Culture Our Identity in 100 Words

Culture plays an important role in our lives. Every person is unique and different from the other. It is mainly because of their culture. People belong to several nations and communities. So their language changes, their dresses are different, their habits also do not match with each other. All of these happen because we belong to several cultures.

Our culture builds us to be complete human beings. It is our identity. Culture affects our behaviour, manners, and style. It includes the nature we have. Also, it comes from our family background, the teachings we receive and the moral education that we are given. If we are well cultured, then everyone will praise us.

Short Essay on Our Culture Our Identity in 200 Words

The line ‘ Our culture our identity’ comes from the country Nepal. Nepal is a land of diversity. It has various types of flora, fauna, festivals, food, dresses, and culture. But now this is applicable to every country living on Earth. Culture is a part of our identity. It builds our character and manners. If we are cultured, then we are praised by all.

Culture also includes language and our behaviour. It also contains our social activities. Culture differs from person to person. It happens due to different nations. We grow up under a definite culture. It affects our moral development. Culture comes both from our family and also from our surroundings.

Culture Whatever we believe comes from our culture. It remains throughout our life. Nowadays, several people are going to different countries. They study or work abroad. Then the culture of that foreign land affects the person. He mixes the foreign culture with his own. Everything in our life is controlled by culture. It makes us what we are. Our wishes are also part of our culture.

When we succeed in our life, our culture is praised. Culture includes our religions and festivals. Durga puja is now an important festival in foreign countries. All know about Durga Puja. So this helps the Hindu religion and Indian culture get more popular. We live for our culture. Our culture is our pride.

Short Essay on Our Culture Our Identity in 400 Words

We are Indians and we are proud of our nation. We are proud of its people, culture, diversity, independence, nature, and surroundings. What is important for us is the culture we have. Culture makes our identity. As Indians, we have a specific culture. It is different from what others have.

Our culture separates us from others. It is something that makes us unique. It teaches the right and the wrong. We start learning about our culture from childhood. So that we can forever remember it. So culture is our strength. If we follow our culture and its rules, then we will be praised forever.

The identity of a person is formed by his culture. Whatever we believe comes from that. If we have plans for the future, then our culture helps us in it. When we work for our nation, our culture is praised. Every culture has its own value. We cannot forget that. As we grow up, we have to maintain those values. It helps to grow our lives. It makes our lives more beautiful.

These values are different from one another. Every country has its own culture. It has its own values and morals. We see different habits, people, their practices, festivals, foods, clothes, and language. All of these happen because of culture. Our behaviour and manners are also important. It shows how beautiful our culture is.

We are taught about our culture from our childhood. Parents always teach their children about the cultures of their country. Even a small society has a separate rule. Culture comes from our family. If we are well behaved, then people praise our family background. Our grandparents also give us lessons on our culture. They are old and wise.

They know a lot about the culture of the nation. Our environment plays an important role in building us as well. If we have a bad surrounding, then it affects us. We do not learn good manners, we become rough, and also go the wrong way. It becomes very difficult for us to adjust if our culture is not good. So culture creates good and strong personalities.

The line ‘our culture our identity’ comes from Nepal. Nepal is a land of diversity. It has a different language, nature, clothes, food, festivals and people. But now this is applicable to all countries. Culture is very important for us. We must know about it. It makes us proud of what we have. A cultured person is always the best human being on Earth.
