The whole day progressed with mixed excitement as well as emotions. As the bell rang, declaring the end of the school day, the school felt like a world of possibilities where the journey was more than textbooks.

Essay on My First Day At School in 1000-1500 Words

My First Day At School

I still remember my first day at school vividly, even though it happened many years ago. It was a day filled with excitement, nervousness, and a little bit of fear. I was just a little kid, barely five years old, and I was about to embark on a new journey in my life – the journey of education.

I woke up early that morning, feeling a mix of emotions. I was excited to finally be going to school like all the big kids I had seen in my neighborhood. I was also nervous about what to expect – would the teachers be nice? Would I make friends? Would I be able to keep up with the lessons? These thoughts raced through my mind as I got ready for the day ahead.

My parents helped me get dressed in my new school uniform – a crisp white shirt, a navy blue skirt, and shiny black shoes. They packed my bag with all the necessary supplies – notebooks, pencils, erasers, and a lunchbox filled with my favorite snacks. I felt like a little soldier, ready to face the challenges of the day.

As we walked to the school, I clutched my mother’s hand tightly, feeling a sense of security in her presence. The school building loomed in front of us, a massive structure with rows of windows and a playground in the front. I could hear the sounds of children laughing and playing, and my heart raced with excitement.

We entered the school gates, and I felt a rush of adrenaline as I saw the bustling corridors filled with students of all ages. The air was filled with the chatter of voices, the ringing of bells, and the sound of footsteps echoing on the tiled floors. I felt like I had entered a whole new world, a world of learning and discovery.

My mother led me to my classroom, where I saw rows of desks and chairs neatly arranged in front of a blackboard. The walls were adorned with colorful posters and charts, and the room had a warm and inviting atmosphere. I found my assigned seat and sat down nervously, looking around at my new classmates who were all busy chatting and getting to know each other.

The teacher entered the room, and all the students fell silent. She introduced herself as Mrs. Smith, a kind and gentle-looking woman with a warm smile. She welcomed us to the class and started the day with a few icebreaker activities to help us get to know each other. I felt a little shy at first, but soon I was laughing and talking with my classmates, feeling like I had known them for years.

The rest of the day passed in a blur of lessons, games, and activities. I learned how to write my name, count to ten, and recite the alphabet. I played with my new friends during recess, running around the playground and laughing until my sides hurt. I even got a gold star for answering a question correctly in class, and I felt a surge of pride and accomplishment.

As the day came to an end, I felt a sense of satisfaction and happiness. I had survived my first day at school, and it had been an amazing experience. I had made new friends, learned new things, and had a lot of fun in the process. I couldn’t wait to go back the next day and continue my journey of education and discovery.

Looking back on that day now, I realize how important it was in shaping the person I am today. My first day at school taught me valuable lessons about courage, resilience, and the joy of learning. It instilled in me a love for education and a thirst for knowledge that has stayed with me ever since.

I am grateful for that day and for all the days that followed, as they have helped me grow into the person I am today. I will always cherish the memories of my first day at school and the excitement and wonder that it brought into my life. It was a day that marked the beginning of a new chapter in my life, and I will always be grateful for the opportunities and experiences that it brought me.

My First Day In Secondary School

The First Day back at School By Tr ” iona Buckley, Just thinking about it makes me nervous. It is like starting off at junior infants again. This year I’m starting secondary school, approximately 10 miles from home. I’m on my own. I know nobody else starting with me. I can imagine my surroundings, as I got a great tour of the school on the open day.

The smell of the big hall where we will all gather. Mr. O’ Brien, the principal will probably welcome us. We are the only class to go in on Friday August 31 st.

Hopefully I will make some friends. Even travelling on the bus is a new venture for me. I am excited and anxious about this new journey. Chapter 1 I live on a cattle and dairy farm. We milk the cows twice a day but I do it mostly in the evenings.

First we put out the ration and gather up the cows and when they have finished eating we start the milking. Towards the end of the milking we feed the calves and the cattle and leave off the milking cows. If one of the cows are cross one of us has to sit on her back and hold back her tail. We have a cat that had five kittens. One of them is black and the other four have white on their noses and white on their paws. We are giving two kittens to our cousin for her birthday.

Our nana had the mother of our cat but that cat was killed on the road. She also had six kittens. We gave one to our nana, one to our cousin and kept one for ourselves. The other three died. One of them was nearly eaten by our dog but I saw the dog with the kitten in his mouth and got the kitten back. She was alive, but after a couple of days she died.

The Essay on City Slicker Meets Milking Cow

So, Mr. City Slicker, this is the first time milking a cow! Heck, it just might be the first time touching one, unless college days involved cow tipping. If it helps the awkwardness, introduce yourself to her, and become acquainted before proceeding. And just a suggestion: Lose the tie! It won't do much good drowning in a bucket of milk. Gather the materials, follow these instructions precisely, ...

We found the other two dead. We used to have a dog and two puppies but they ran away. We have six fish one each for my brothers, one each for my sisters and one spare. I have to feed the fish once a day and every three weeks I have to clean out one third of the tank and every three months the whole tank.

The reason I have the tank is because I won it in a project I did on birds. Celina and I were coming home from Bandon when we saw a dead badger and a dead cat on the road. Another day when I was walking on my way to my Nana’s I saw two dead birds and when we were coming home I saw a pheasant walk across the road and hop into the next field. We have a lot of pigeons and sparrows around the yard. There are blue tits, robins and sometimes even a yellow hammer. I also saw a swallow nest in our garage and a field mouse scurrying into its hole in the ditch.

Chapter 2 Recently there was foot and mouth disease in England and Ireland, but Ireland got the better of it. It was a very contageous disease, which spread quickly. Only cloven hoofed animals can get it. They get blisters in their mouth and blisters in their feet so they can’t eat or walk.

To stop the disease from spreading the animals with the disease must be slaughtered, and the neighbour’s cattle. Then they must be burned on a big bonfire. They get pallets and put the cattle on top. One of the bonfires was so big that it was 1 km long. It travelled through the air into France, Belgium and other countries. One time one of the men involved in slaughtering the cattle actually got foot and mouth disease, but it is not as dangerous for humans.

For our holidays last year we went to England. It looked a bit like Ireland but the roads were very confusing. We went to visit our two grandaunts and when we were looking for Cadbury’s factory we saw people playing cricket. In Cadbury’s factory you get free sweets and you go through kind of a maze, and in the middle they show you how they make the chocolate.

The Term Paper on Mad Cow Disease / Bovine spongiform encephalopathy

Bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), better know as Mad cow disease is a relatively new disease. Most sources state that BSE first showed up in Great Britain in 1986 [Dealler p.5] but some say it popped up in 1985 [Greger p.1]. However the official notification was not until 21 June, 1988 [Dealler stats. p.1]. Spongiform encephalopathies are invariable fatal neurodegenerative diseases and there ...

We also went to Alton Towers. It was brilliant. There were loads of rides and different places like Storybook land, Adventure land, X-sector, Ug land, Forbidden valley, and Gloomy wood. There were also monorails and sky rides. The two rides that looked really scary were the Oblivion and the Nemesis. My favorite ride was the Corkscrew because it went upside down and really fast.

One time we went to the Zoo where you would drive around in your car like ina safari park. A camel nearly bit off Celina’s finger because she put her hand out the window and our cousin closed up the widow and it got stuck but I rolled down the window just in time. They had all sorts of animals like wolves tigers, and buffalo’s and ostriches. One of the ostriches was picking at one of the side mirrors looking at her reflection and wouldn’t stop. Chapter 3 There was a Fleadh Cheoil in Mac room and I was competing in a group. It was on from Friday to Sunday.

We were competing in a lot of competitions on Sunday and Saturday like Ceol Beirte, Bodhhran, Ceol Tri ” ur, Buion Cheoil Chili, Grupai Cheoil that the under 15 s won, and Consartina. Celina took part in the Ceol Beirte, Ceol Tri ” ur, Buion Cheoil, Consartina and Grupai Cheoil. I took part in the Grupai Cheoil and English Singing. The under 12 s didn’t get placed in the Grupai Cheoil, then under 15 s came 1 st and the under 18 s came 3 rd.

Everyone who competed got a certificate. We entered a lot of solos, duets and tri ” urs. Our music teacher has changed her garden alot. She put a pond in it and a rockery. S’ile De Vale re will be opening the music centre and the Lord Mayor of Cork on the 6 th of July. There will be a barbecue and a marquee.

We were helping our music teacher plant her garden. We planted flowers like red and white delves heather, lobelia and surfin ias. We were at a monster chile in the Duh allow Loge. There was a lot of people there and Seamus Begley was playing there.

We were playing at the start and Seamus Begley at the end. It went on for a very long time because we came home at 4 O’clock in the morning. Seamus Begley presented our medals to us that we won in the Fleadh Cheoil. At the end we had a small session and went home.

My First Day At School Essay

My parents comforted me and gave me my favourite chocolate ice-cream. I entered the classroom, and it immediately cheered my mood up. The classroom was very colourful, filled with small benches and a lot of toys and swings.

The teacher came after a few minutes. She was very friendly. After an hour, we all grouped together, and played several fun games and did many activities together. It was a very amazing day.

200 Word Essay On My First Day At School

I still remember my first day at preschool. I was very excited and nervous. Being a 5-year-old kid, it had been so hard for me to leave my home and settle in a completely new place for almost an entire day, but I was a tough kid. I was also very excited to wear my uniform. I reminded Mummy to iron my uniform many times until I checked myself and was sure of it.

My Day At School

When I entered the school with my parents on my first day, I was surprised with the fact that there were so many children of my age, some were happy and laughing, running on the ground. While a few were very scared and crying, their parents and teachers were trying to calm them down.

I was having mixed feelings, but once I entered class, I was elated with joy. The classroom was coincidently painted with my favourite colour—Sky Blue.

In my first lesson, I was taught the alphabet. But since I already knew them, the teacher called me out to recite it in front of the class. I nervously went ahead and did it. Everyone clapped for me. It was a very nice moment and made my first day of the school an unforgettable memory for me.

500 Word Essay On My First Day At School

My first day at school was an unforgettable memory for me and gave me a gift I cherish to this date. It was a cozy and comfortable evening in April when I was informed with the news that I have been admitted to Mount Libra Zee School.

I didn’t know how to react. I have seen my sister going to school daily, sometimes she was happy about it, but sometimes she was very reluctant to go and made silly excuses to avoid school. My parents had also brought a very cute school uniform. I liked it and was excited to wear it. But I still had no idea about how the first day of school was going to be.

How My First Day At School Started

The next morning, I dressed up very early in excitement. I ate my breakfast and Mummy packed a small tiffin box for me. At 8 o'clock, I went to the school in my father’s red car.

When I Reached My School

The school building was huge. It was painted with cartoons. I got happy when I saw my favourite cartoon characters, Tom & Jerry painted on the walls too. My father left me at the school gate to a peon after instructing him about my class. The peon picked me up very gently and started walking through the endless corridors. I could see the huge playground in the middle of the school building. It had all kinds of swings in it. For a moment, I wanted to run away to my favourite Merry-Go-Round, but I dropped that temptation and was dropped in front of my class by the peon.

My Classroom

The class had 15 chairs, all painted with cartoon characters. The wall had ABCs and numbers painted on it. It was a very cheerful and colourful environment. My eyes immediately glanced through the students already sitting there. They all were lost in their world. Some were sobering, while some were making drawings with crayons.

After a few minutes, our teacher came. She asked each of us our names and hobbies, and then she introduced herself to us. Then, she asked everyone to name the animals and birds painted on a picture board. We all begin singing the names. It was very fun. She was impressed with us and gave us candies at the end of the lesson.

After 2 hours, a bell rang for lunch. I took out my tiffin and started feasting on my sandwiches. A boy came to me, and said that sandwiches are his favourite. I knew his name by now, Ansh. I quickly offered him one and he was very happy. We soon became friends and chatted endlessly about Spider-Man, Iron Man and Tom and Jerry.

After learning that his favourite cartoon was also Tom and Jerry , I instantly knew I got my first school friend. 14 years forward, Ansh is still my best friend, and I am always thankful to him for making my first day at school a very fond memory.

I remember seeing the classroom full of little children. Some crying while the others playing with others. I looked at my mother and gave her the look that I didn’t want them to leave. They had to go so I kept crying but eventually, my teacher consoled me.

Once I settled in the class, I talked with the other kids and started playing with them. The colourful walls of the classroom fascinated me a lot. We got many toys to play with so it all the other kids also got distracted and stopped crying.

My advantage was that my sister was also studying in the same school. She is 3 years older than me so she was my senior. During recess, I was starting to miss my parents so I got teary-eyed.

But, then my sister came to meet me and I feel she was no less than a saviour for me that day. She took permission from the teacher to take me out and I went with her to the playground.

We were swinging throughout recess. All my worries went away because I had a known face with me. After eating and swinging together, the bell rang to mark the end of the recess . So, she dropped me back to my class.

A New Day: my First School Adventure – my First Day in School

This essay about the first day of school offers a vivid portrayal of a child’s experience navigating unfamiliar territory. Through the protagonist’s eyes, readers witness a mix of emotions—excitement, apprehension, and ultimately, triumph—as they take their first steps into the classroom. The narrative unfolds with descriptive detail, capturing the sights, sounds, and sensations of this pivotal moment in the child’s life. From the nervous anticipation of meeting new classmates to the joy of making friends during recess, each scene is painted with warmth and authenticity. Ultimately, the essay highlights the universal themes of resilience and growth, reminding us of the power of courage in the face of uncertainty.

How it works

The sun rose lazily, casting a soft golden glow over the sleepy town as I clutched my mother’s hand tightly, my heart pounding with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. Today was the day I would embark on a new adventure: my first day of school.

As we approached the school gates, a wave of nervous energy washed over me. The playground buzzed with activity as children chattered excitedly, their laughter filling the air. I watched them with wide eyes, feeling a surge of anticipation mingled with a hint of fear.

Would I fit in? Would I make friends? These questions swirled in my mind like leaves caught in a gust of wind.

With a reassuring smile, my mother led me to the classroom door. The scent of freshly sharpened pencils and crayons greeted us as we stepped inside. The room was a kaleidoscope of colors, with posters lining the walls and desks arranged in neat rows. I found my name written on a desk near the window and hesitantly took my seat, feeling a flutter of excitement in my stomach.

As the morning progressed, the classroom gradually filled with eager faces, each one brimming with anticipation for the day ahead. Our teacher, Mrs. Johnson, greeted us warmly, her smile putting me at ease. She began the day by introducing herself and explaining the various activities we would be doing. From learning the alphabet to making new friends, the possibilities seemed endless.

The minutes ticked by, and soon it was time for our first lesson. I listened intently as Mrs. Johnson taught us how to write our names in big, bold letters. With shaky hands, I gripped my pencil tightly, carefully tracing each curve and line. It was a small victory, but it filled me with a sense of accomplishment that lingered long after the lesson had ended.

As the day progressed, I found myself growing more comfortable in my new surroundings. I eagerly participated in class discussions, my confidence growing with each passing moment. I raised my hand eagerly whenever Mrs. Johnson asked a question, eager to share my thoughts with the class. And to my delight, I discovered that I wasn’t alone—there were other children who felt just as nervous and excited as I did.

During recess, I joined a group of classmates as we raced around the playground, our laughter echoing in the crisp morning air. We played tag and climbed on the jungle gym, our childish antics drawing curious glances from the older students. But in that moment, none of that mattered—we were just kids, reveling in the simple joy of being together.

As the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, I felt a pang of sadness mingled with excitement. It had been an unforgettable day, filled with new experiences and unexpected discoveries. I said goodbye to my new friends with a promise to see them tomorrow, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips.

Walking home with my mother, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride swell within me. I had conquered my first day of school, overcoming my fears and embracing the adventure that lay ahead. And as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange, I knew that this was only the beginning of a journey that would shape me in ways I had yet to imagine.

I don’t really remember much of what happened as a child. All I know is that I grew up in a pretty normal household with a mom, dad and an older brother. Not much of the outside world scared me, or even intimidated me. I didn’t even know that there was much of an outside world. Everything I had at home, and around the neighborhood was everything I knew, and that was it. My mom efficiently prepared me for my first day of school in the way she thought to be the best. She would anticipate the day it would come, and assure me that everything was going to be okay. I remember her talking about the games we would play, how I would get to meet other kids my age and that there would be a nice teacher to guide me along my way. It didn’t sound that scary. I mostly liked the idea of getting snacks in the middle and getting to play with new toys, nap time wasn’t really my thing, though; I could always do that at home. There were some things my eager six-year-old self was excited about, but I never understood exactly why I had to go to school. My first day of school, being a big change in my life, is something I will always remember and relate to other dramatic changes which I have gone through. I’m sure that most people can relate to this in a sense that everyone has gone through a significant change in their life, no matter how mundane the event may be.

I wondered what the other kids were like, and why they had to go to school, too. I wondered if they colored, played or did things as well as I did. Probably not. My mom explained to me that I’ll be learning new things, and that I’ll have to go to school five times a week. For me at that age, a week seemed very long. What if I didn’t want to go? What if I just wanted to stay home? I really had mixed emotions about the subject.

After much prepping, the first day of school finally came. I remember getting out of the car and looking up at the structure in front of me. The building had colorful painting on its bricks on the sides, with a bright blue door. My eyes grew bigger, and I didn’t even realize I was holding my breath. All my mixed emotions drained into one at that very moment – fear. I was not sure of exactly what to expect, and I didn’t know anyone in there. How would I call my mom if I wanted something, if I was hungry or if I hurt myself? Suddenly, all of this school business did not seem like such a good idea. I turned to my mom who was holding her hand out to me and smiling. I gave her a worried look, which she caught on to right away. She stepped closer and nudged me towards the door. After she gave me a kiss on the forehead, that was it, she was gone and I was stuck in school, a place I was so unfamiliar with.

The bell rang and I proceeded to walk through the door. I took a big breath and looked around. The room was so bright and colorful and there were so many different artworks posted on the walls. I clearly remember a sea of pinks, yellows, blues and greens. There were pictures of animals, fruits and houses all drawn by other kids decorating the room. I recall there being desks desks with paper and crayons, and there was even a little corner with toys! This calmed me down, and made me feel like it was not as bad as I thought.

I looked at the other kids coming in; I did as they did and left my backpack on a hook near the door, and took a seat in an empty chair closest to me. We were greeted by an older lady; she told us that she was going to be our teacher. She started us off by calling us from a list one by one; to make sure we were all there. I also remember having name tags of some sort, I think we kept those on even a week after school started. At that time, I didn’t get why, I already knew my name after all.

We learned some songs, played a lot of games and because we all did what we were told, we got some time to play with the toys in the corner of the room. Next thing I know, we were given snacks. We then got to play outside on the playground. Because of all the playing, we got tired pretty soon, and they let us sleep. After a bit more games, another bell rang and the teacher told us it was time to go home. The day seemed really long since we did so much, but none of it was boring.

As soon as I grabbed my bag and stepped outside the door, I saw my mom waiting for on the side walk. I ran to her, and clearly remember feeling like I haven’t seen her in such a long time. During the car ride back home, I talked tirelessly about how the day went and all the new things I did, and how the other children were just like me, and most of them like the same things I liked. I asked her when I’ll go back, and I just got excited when she told me when I wake up in the morning, I’ll be going again.

I don’t remember ever feeling that anxious and excited all at once, all my expectations about school were mostly wrong. According to most researchers specializing in childhood psychology, children do tend to have very unrealistic expectations about their first day of school (Kendrick).

I had a pretty average childhood before kindergarten; I guess all my fears about changing my environment just came up because I was not sure of what to expect leaving the comforts of my home. This was the first significant time in which I realized that there is a bigger world out there, and there are so many things to learn, people to meet and things to do. I felt so grown-up at that time, being able to go somewhere where I didn’t need my parents, it was all just me, no help. I guess that this first day of kindergarten is much like all the other first days of school – like the first day of middle school, high school and even college. I built myself up with all these ideas, and you get all worked up about them, but once you’re there and you get the flow of how things are done, it becomes easier. When there is an event in your life, no matter how mundane or usual it may seem, it can change how you view things. Looking back at my first day of kindergarten and evaluating my thoughts as compared to what actually happened, I can say that I got overwhelmed more with the idea of kindergarten more than anything. Once you get over those negative thoughts in your head, you realize that it’s not that bad. You just have to rise above your thoughts and your fears. My first day of kindergarten will always be that event I’ll remember which changed how I saw things in life.

You cannot wait to see what it’s like to be surrounded by new people and experience the freedom to explore new horizons and hang out with friends.

Question 2. What do I say on the first day of school?

Answer: You’re nervous, but you should not be. You’ve prepared for the first day of school, and now it’s time to go. You expect all your classmates to act differently than they did last year, but don’t worry too much about that either. Just remember to be yourself and don’t forget everything your parents taught you.

Question 3. How can I be confident on the first day of school?

Answer: Being confident on the first day of school can be daunting. It’s important to take time before this day to reflect on what you’re learning and how you’re feeling. It’s also important to be cognizant of how other students are feeling, which can help you develop the unique perspective that will help you feel comfortable in your new environment.

Question 4. How do I prepare my child for the first day of school?

Answer: Parents often struggle to get their kids ready for the first day of school, but it doesn’t have to be such a chore. It is important to remember that school is a social event and parents should treat it as such. Try not to let your children go too long without seeing family members and forcing other unnecessary restrictions.

I entered the school premises with my parents. The school was a two-storey-ed building with nine rooms and had a green lawn in the front. I was taken to my class, where other students were sitting. It was a small classroom with a window and six benches. I sat beside a boy who later became my best friend. Our class teacher was amiable and taught us the alphabet. It was a beautiful experience as I made new friends and played with them.

A school is a primary institution where children go to learn new ideas and habits and receive education while making new friends on the journey. I was admitted to the school when I was 5 years old. It was a primary school, and I was really scared to attend it as it was the first time I had to spend a long time without my parents outside the home. On the first day, I woke up early as it was morning school, wore the new uniform, and reached school with my parents. They dropped me off at the Headmistress’s office, from where I was taken to my class. As I entered my class, I saw a few high benches and low benches where other students were sitting on. I sat on the third bench, where I made a friend who later became my best friend. I loved my first day at school and still cherish the memories.

The first day of school is very different for every kid. Some cry, some get excited, and some feel reluctant about the new environment. A long essay should capture these various emotions and feelings in a streamlined manner. Here is an example of writing an essay on the first day at school for class 3.

My Classroom

On my first day at school, I woke up early and dressed in my new uniform. I went to the school premises with my parents. The premises was huge with green lawns and a two-storey-ed building with nine rooms. I went to the Headmistress’s office and was later taken to my classroom by our class teacher. It was a small yet airy room with some benches and a blackboard. I sat on the third bench where another student was seated, who later became my best friend. Our class teacher was very friendly, and we got to introduce ourselves. I learnt a new alphabet and played with my new friends. We were given the school tour on the first day.

We were shown restrooms, a swing area, a dance room, etc. Though I enjoyed my first day, it wasn’t easy to stay so long without my parents. I missed them terribly. My mother packed my favourite snack for lunch, and I missed her badly then. I remember many kids crying and teachers trying to soothe them and pamper them with toffees. We were given some sheets and colours to enjoy colouring. I recall I was given a butterfly to colour. My friend got a crocodile, and I saw another kid colouring a bird. It was such a fantastic activity. Another activity happened that day; we had to tell the teacher the one thing we instantly liked about the school. I said swings, and my friend said colours. It was a memorable day that I cherish even today.

Introduction To Teachers And Friends

Our class teacher introduced us to other teachers, and we were asked to introduce ourselves. Teachers made us sit alphabetically. Luckily my friend’s name also started with S, like me, so we sat together. We played fun Pictionary games. We were asked to perform our hobbies and were given toffees. It was amazing to meet my best friend, who shared the same hobby, dancing with me. The teacher also read a beautiful story to us. I really loved the overall experience.
