There are six common or standard content items in a good welcome speech.

  • Greetings to welcome everyone and thanking them for coming along.
  • Acknowledgement of special guests, if there are any.
  • An introduction of the event itself and a brief overview of special highlights the audience will want to know about.

Numbers 1, 3, and 6 are basic essentials you cannot do without. Numbers 2, 4 and 5 may, or may not, be applicable. Pick what you need from them to fit your occasion.

Short sample welcome speech for a conference 

Now let's put all six ingredients into an example of a short welcome speech to open a conference that you can adapt for your own speech.

* (This speech is pure fiction! I made it up to show you how it's done. You'll see its tone is formal rather than informal to fit the occasion. I don't think there is a group called Parents United. "Sue-Ellen Thomas, Jim Smith, Jane Brown and all of our guests, good morning!

My name is April Molloy, and it's my privilege and great pleasure on behalf of Parents United to welcome you all here today.

We are delighted to have you with us to participate and share in this special occasion, our 5th annual Children's Day Conference. Thank you for coming. That many of you have willingly traveled long distances to be here serves as a reminder to us all just how important our work is.

Writing your welcome speech

Tips to help you get your speech right.

When you're entering information into your speech planner:

  • ensure you've got all the names of individuals or special guests you need to mention specifically and, that you know how to pronounce each of them. Also check that you know and use their preferred pronouns: them/they, she/her, he/him...
  • double check the remarks you're going to make about them, or anything else, are factually correct.

Use your introduction of your guests/or the event, as a "teaser" for what is going to come. It will help create anticipation in the audience. Don't ruin it by giving too much away! Just enough to tempt and no more.

Keep it brief. One to two minutes is generally sufficient.

(The word count of my sample welcome speech is 357. It will take approximately 2 minutes to say .) 

Use the S-S-S formula for success: Short, Simple and Sincere. Your listeners will appreciate it.

What does a good welcome speech do?

An effective welcome speech has three important functions. It:

  • signals the official beginning of an event . It says to the audience, hush, sit down, stop talking and listen. What you came for is starting!
  • sets the tone for the occasion through the choice of language used . For example, using light-hearted and informal words to welcome guests to a dear friend's birthday party may be completely appropriate.  However, the same type of language to welcome family and friends to a memorial service is unlikely to be. In that setting, people generally expect a more solemn and formal word choice. They could be deeply offended and think the use of casual language is disrespectful.  Understanding and getting tone right is a key element in the overall success of your welcome speech.  
  • unites the audience . It draws everyone together in the common purpose at the heart of the occasion. For example, at a birthday party, the welcome speech invites everyone to join in celebrating the person whose birthday it is. The welcome speech opening a specialist conference will affirm its principal purpose: the coming together of people with mutual interests to meet and share new knowledge. Or if a welcome speech is given to newcomers in a workplace, club or educational setting, its purpose is to give an introductory overview of how things work to help them feel more at ease in their new situation - to help them develop a sense of belonging.

Tone is the combined impact of the words chosen to express something, with how they are structured and, delivered.  All three elements come together to create tone * . 

Get tone wrong, and your welcome speech is a disaster.

Get it right, and it's a triumph!

(Yes, that's hyperbole but I'm sure you get the idea. ☺)

How to choose the right words

The beginning of getting tone right is to think about your audience and the event itself. Your goal is to unite and bring them together in the main purpose at the core of the occasion. What type of language will do that most appropriately and easily?

To answer that question, think about the common interest everybody shares - the principal reason behind them getting together.  It will help guide your language choice.

Is it a fun event like a birthday party for close friends and family? If so, then informal language is likely to be the most apt.

You might hear something along the lines of: "Well, here we all are! The big day has finally arrived. Jean-Marie is 50! Half a century! How on earth did that happen?"

If it's a remembrance service for someone who has recently died, the language you're likely to hear is more formal.

For example: "Friends, family, colleagues, thank you for joining us today to celebrate and give thanks for our dear Jean-Marie. Your presence is gratefully appreciated." 

What is appropriate? What is expected?  Do spend some time thinking tone through. Misunderstanding and getting it wrong can be very embarrassing for everyone. If in doubt, ask someone whose opinion you trust.

Holiday Speech — How to surprise and delight your audience.

When was the last time you heard someone say: “I wish that speech had been longer.” 

I’m guessing, never.

Holiday time is here again. Party time is here again. Which means... speech time is here. Again. With an open question as to who dreads this more; the average speaker or the average audience. 

I’m guessing both. 

How can you turn pain into pleasure? The dread into delight? The answer:

Be brief. Be brief. Be brief.

Roosevelt was right. The secret to a good speech is brevity, and brevity is tough. Brevity needs thought and planning. As Blaise Pascal, the French philosopher, put it: “I would have written a shorter letter, but I did not have the time.”¹

Here are some time-saving tips to promote brevity.

Welcome, not warn. Praise, not provoke.

A holiday speech has one short, three-part purpose. Hello... thank you... let’s celebrate.  It’s basically a “Hi, and thanks for… all this year’s work / coming to the party / joining us in celebration.” (Edit as appropriate). Leave all the provocation, cautionary tales, visioneering, preaching, and eulogizing for another time. It must also entertain. 

When we create a holiday speech, however, we go beyond this. We’re in front of an audience. We want to look prepared. We want to seem informed. We want to seem together. 

That can hurt us. We pack too much in. We overtalk. We succumb to the Curse of Knowledge: ‘You know too much, and you’re way too passionate.’

We worry that if we don’t show that knowledge and share that passion, the audience might think we actually don’t care.

The secret to a good speech is planning . Keep it tight, write it ahead, and include a couple of techniques from rhetoric that packs plenty of punch into a small package.

Bring everyone together

Holiday speeches bring people together, metaphorically and literally.

What will everyone agree on? That common cause needs to link to the event you’re speaking at and set the tone for your speech. It can refer to past or future, emotion or fact — the only thing that matters is that everyone nods sage agreement when you drop it. Find that statement and stick it to the very start of your speech.

You have now united your audience. First goal gained.

What’s the point?

Audiences like to know what’s coming. 

Now you have everyone’s attention and goodwill, you need to share a) what your message is, b) how many sections you’re going to say it in, and; c) how long it’s going to take.

Be clear on what you want everyone to remember from your speech. If you can only land one main point, then what is it? 

How will you structure that point? Is it one big statement, or are there three subpoints you need to bring out? If so, state them in short, pithy mentions: “...there are three things I want to say.”

As you list those sub-points, use your fingers. Literally. Count the points off on your fingers as you state them… Point 1… Point 2… Point 3…  Listing structure in this way helps you remember what you want to say.

Your audience is now happily in receive mode, and you know where you’re going. Second goal gained.

Add bright lights

You’ve got everyone looking in the same direction, and have a clear structure for your speech. Now it's time to decorate. 

If your holiday structure was a holiday tree, that tree needs trimming.

My friend and colleague Gavin McMahon often points to the behavior of nervous speakers — they  go into ‘safe mode.’ A call back to the old days of Microsoft Windows, when your PC was having problems. Safe mode, with all the bells and whistles switched off,  is stable and secure, but appealing it is not.

Get out of safe mode. Scatter some lights.

When you write down your speech (and as part of your preparation, I do suggest you write down your speech), look for where you can add vivid adjectives. Look for where you can add a little muscle to your verbs. Safe mode is gray. This is meant to be a holiday speech.

Bring the holiday color and spice that make people sit forward and smile. 

Third goal gained. The audience go wild!

So how long should it be?

Five minutes.

Five minutes is enough to deliver your message, pack a punch, spread good cheer, then add surprise and delight by sitting down.

The average person speaks at 125 - 150 words per minute, so your five-minute speech needs to aim for approximately 750 words.

In other words, the length of this article.

A welcome speech is a short speech that greets attendees and sets the tone for an event. It can be instructional, informative, persuasive, or inspirational, as the speaker gets the audience interested in the event, makes them feel welcome, and gives them an overview of what to expect.

Whether you attend a wedding, a conference, or the spring concert at your kid’s school, you can expect the first order of business to be a welcome speech. The host or their representative will kick off the event with opening remarks or a welcome address to make the audience feel at home.

The welcome speech should be the verbal equivalent of a handshake!

This speech serves a bigger purpose than simply welcoming people to the event, as there are often pieces of information about the schedule that those in attendance would want to know before the function starts. How do you write a great welcome speech? Let us help you!

What Is A Typical Welcome Speech?

The basics of speech writing apply to a welcome speech. Like most speeches, it has three main components: the introduction, the body, and the conclusion.

  • Greeting:  First, greet everyone in attendance and then introduce yourself to the audience and begin setting the event’s tone.
  • Body:  In the body of the speech, provide important information, set the tone for the events, or warm up the audience. You might also introduce the first speaker, in which case you discuss that person’s credentials.
  • Conclusion:  Your welcome speech might send participants to various sessions or usher in the first speaker.

What Is The Purpose Of A Welcome Speech?

Unlike most other speeches that have a life of their own with a topic, a welcome speech serves the rest of the program.

You want people to feel welcome attending an event. Telling people that it is with “great pleasure” that you welcome them to an event starts things off on a positive note.

An excellent welcome speech then warms up the audience for what is about to occur, whether that is a keynote speech, breakout sections for a conference, or a special event.

When Does The Welcome Speech Take Place?

Welcome speeches open up many events.

  • Annual Functions. At events such as   a church picnic, company annual meeting, or corporate data retreat, the opening speech would be a welcome and an explanation of what will occur at the event.

  • Award Ceremonies. At award shows such as the Oscars or other huge televised events or a collegiate sports award banquet, a master or mistress of ceremonies may welcome guests and tell the order of what’s to follow. and introduce the first presenter.
  • Church Welcome Speech.  Many churches welcome anyone to visit and see what they are all about. They may have an informal greeting for visitors and special guests. One church I visited invited all guests or new people to stop by a welcome table for a small gift of a coffee mug and devotional.

  • Commencement . Graduation ceremonies warmly welcome the graduates and attendees before diplomas are presented..
  • Conference. Welcome speeches set the right tone for a conference, lets attendees know what’s next and who the first speaker is.
  • Corporate events . A formal event such as a data retreat or an informal occasion like a yearly celebration picnic will include a short welcome speech.
  • Special Events .  Milestone birthdays, anniversaries, religious ceremonies, etc., may have a person welcoming guests.

How Do You Start A Welcome Speech?

A welcome speech starts by acknowledging the time of day by simply saying “Good morning,” “Good afternoon,” or “Good evening.”

You then state how happy you are to be offering the welcome to whatever the event is. An example is to say, “My name is (name), and I am thrilled to have been given the honor of welcoming all of you distinguished guests who have assembled here today.”

When welcoming guests at a wedding, you could start out by saying, “We are so grateful to all of the friends, family members, and other loved ones who have come to share in (bride) and (groom’s) special day.”

Keeping it Warm

Sometimes, the opening speaker wants to ensure that people feel the environment is warm and inviting. In addition to choosing words that sound inviting and welcoming, such as “it is our pleasure” and “we are so thrilled that you all could make it today,” body language is essential.

Smiling is the first thing that will help ease anxiety and leave people feeling at ease. Also, avoid crossing your arms in front of your body, as that can make you appear closed off or angry. Making eye contact and focusing on smiling when you speak couple together to create a warm environment as you welcome guests.

Tips For A Welcome Speech?

Some of these tips are specific to giving a welcome speech, and others are just good practice for any form of public speaking.

  • Eye Contact:  There are better ways to give a strong speech than reading right off of a piece of paper. Look up at the audience periodically to offer eye contact.
  • Practice:   The more you practice, the better your speech will sound. One can practice in front of a mirror, with friends, or even by making a video and watching it yourself.
  • Remember the Purpose:  Why are these particular people assembled on this day? Acknowledging why everyone is in the same room is a good way to help you frame your speech’s contents.
  • Time:  Talk to the person heading up the event to learn how long you should speak. Only talk as long as they have invited you to speak. Remember quality over quantity.
  • Word Choice:  Once you have given the purpose of the event thought, you can move on and decide what type of language is more appropriate. For a professional conference or commencement, formal language would fit in best. However, informal language would be preferred if you are welcoming wedding guests.

Holiday time is here as we count down to the end of 2023. Office parties and gatherings come with many opportunities for leaders to deliver the appropriate words to set the celebratory mood, unite everyone and build momentum for the year ahead. Holiday speeches and toasts have evolved into something of a verbal souvenir. They are something people take home as a sort of remembrance of the moment.

Whether you’re the designated speaker or the toastmaster of the festivities, a well-crafted speech can uplift spirits and rally people around a common cause. If you are in person or virtually for remote teams, your remarks should be upbeat, positive, and focused on the collective WE, and most importantly, brief.

The theme sets the tone of your speech and creates the throughline that connects everything you say, creates coherence, and makes your words memorable. What is your intention? What do you want your audience to remember? How do you want them to feel after you have spoken?

You can’t afford to wing it no matter if you are the boss, a department head, or a team leader charged with delivering the remarks. Planning, practicing, and writing it down in advance will make your remarks more relevant, resonant, and easier for you to deliver.

Here’s your guide to crafting the perfect holiday speech that will leave your colleagues feeling warm and festive. 

1. Keep it brief

How long should it be? If you are making a speech, it should be no more than five minutes. That’s about 750 words given the average rate of speech of 125 to 150 words per minute. The secrets to a good speech are relevance and brevity , which most people find daunting. Brevity takes time and requires surgical removal of what doesn’t serve your throughline.

If you are doing a holiday toast, aim for a length of two to three minutes, allowing enough time to convey your message without overtalking and risking boredom. Designing your content in three-parts provides a structure on which to build your remarks: a) Why we are here. b) Thank you and acknowledgements. c) What lies ahead.

2. Know your audience

Before you start drafting your remarks, take a moment to consider the diverse group of individuals in your organization and their physical locations. Contemplate the various holiday traditions and celebrations that people may observe. A thoughtful and inclusive speech or toast respects everyone’s background and fosters a sense of unity. Remember to keep the focus on them and keep the ratio of “You-to-I” references high (more YOU than I).

3. Start with gratitude

Express your gratitude for the hard work and dedication of the team throughout the year. Acknowledge the challenges everyone has faced and conquered together. A sincere appreciation sets a positive tone and reminds every member of the organization of the collective efforts that make the company a great place to work.

4. Inject humor and vivid language

Lighten the atmosphere with a touch of humor. Share a lighthearted anecdote without putting anyone on the spot. Use colorful, vivid language that will energize your message. Take a verbal time-out from the pressures of the business and keep company jargon to a minimum.

5. Reflect on achievements

Take a moment to reflect on the team’s accomplishments and successes over the past year. Recognizing and celebrating small and big wins fosters a sense of pride and camaraderie. It’s an opportunity to highlight the collective impact of everyone’s hard work. Spread the praise evenly so no one feels left out or ignored.

6. Look forward with optimism

Inspire members of your organization by expressing optimism for the future. Share your hopes and aspirations for the upcoming year, both personally and professionally. A forward-looking perspective can instill a sense of purpose and motivation as the team heads into the new year.

7. Deliver with warmth and sincerity

Apply the verbal and non-verbal communication cues that signal sincerity. Use vocal variety and intonation. Deliver slowly and pause at intervals. Smile, keep good eye contact, gesture appropriately to add warmth and authenticity to your words.

Remember, the goal of your holiday speech or party toast is to uplift and unite your colleagues and employees in celebration. With a thoughtful and inclusive approach, your words can set the stage for a joyful and memorable year ahead.

Ask a question they can respond to or tell a joke — anything to connect with the audience. Do something that grabs their attention and excites them and makes them thrilled about the event.

Step 3 Add individual greetings for any special guests.

  • Special guests include any people of honor, those that may play a particularly important part in the event, or those who have traveled a long way to be there.
  • Make sure that you practice all of names, titles, and pronunciations of the special guests before your speech.
  • For example you could say, "We'd like to extend a special welcome to our guest of honor, Judge McHenry, who will be speaking later tonight."
  • Alternatively to welcome a group of people you might say, "While we're excited to have you all here tonight, we'd especially like to say welcome to the students from Johnson Middle School."

Step 4 Introduce the event itself.

  • For an informal event such as a birthday party, you could say, "We're so happy to have you here tonight to eat, drink, and celebrate another year of Jessica's life. Now, let's get to it."
  • For a more formal event such as one run by an organisation, you could say, “We are so excited to have you all here to participate in our 10th annual pet’s day, organised by the Animal Rescue Group.”

Forming the Body of the Speech

Step 1 Acknowledge those who have played an important part in the event.

  • An example of acknowledging individual people is saying, “We couldn’t have pulled off this fundraiser without the hard work and dedication of Grace and Sally, who worked tirelessly from day 1 to make today a reality.”
  • Avoid reading off a long list of people or sponsors, as your audience will begin to get bored. Stick to just a handful of highlights.

Step 2 Mention any parts of the event that are of special importance.

  • For instance, at a conference, you might point out when the dinner will be held, or where particular sessions will take place.
  • At a wedding reception, you might note when dancing will start or when the cake will be served.

Step 3 Reiterate your welcoming line.

  • Alternatively, you could end the body of your speech during an informal gathering by saying, “I can't wait to see you all out on the dancefloor!”

Ending the Speech

Step 1 Say that you hope the audience enjoys the event, if applicable.

  • You could also say that you hope that the audience takes something away from the event. For example, “I hope that today inspires ideas and discussions around the ways that we can make our city a better place!”

Step 2 Introduce the next speaker if necessary.

  • At a formal event, you might say, "Now, for our speaker. Rebecca Roberts comes here from Montreal, Canada, and she is a leading expert in the study of the human brain. She'll be speaking tonight on what drives humans to make decisions. Let's welcome her."
  • For a more informal event such as a party, you could say, “Next up is Sam, who has been Kyle’s best friend for 10 years strong. He has a decade of embarrassing stories about Kyle to share with us tonight!"

Step 3 Thank the audience for attending.

  • Alternatively you might say, “Thank you again to everyone for being here tonight to celebrate Joe and Kathleen’s 50th wedding anniversary! Let the celebrations begin!”

Step 4 Keep your speech within a suitable time limit.

  • If you are unsure, ask the organiser or host what an appropriate length of time for your speech will be.

Tips for Writing a Welcome Speech

I usually go even though I have been to PC many times now. But I set at the back of the group and only stay to check in with the Rep and hear what they have to say about the resort. Once they start with the tours I leave.

Funny that in a lot of reviews people complain that no one took the time to explain what the resort offered and didn't offer. Wonder if these are the ones that skip the meeting! Especially since different tour companies can offer different things at the resorts. One tour company may only offer 3 a la carte dinners while another offer 5!

After 20 years of going to All Inclusives's I still go to the briefing, although I only glean about 5 minutes of useful info out of the hour.

Generally hotel rules and guidelines are moving targets and vary with the time of year and relative occupancy and I am looking for any tips in that regard. For instance I find a good rep is helpful in telling you what is the easiest way to get a reservation at the a-la cartes, can you expect to just show up without a reservation and take a chance of getting in, stuff like that.

Decision was taken out of my hands this time around, we were told where to be and when, showed up, waited an hour to allow for island time, and no one showed up! We asked the staff, they all told us yes, we were in the right place, right time, they didn't know where she was at all. So we hung around the lobby, waiting. After an hour, other guests, who we guess had been through the same thing on a prior day, told us they had moved the talk location to the other end of the resort (but hadn't bothered telling the staff this, clearly!) I thought stuff this, and headed to the beach.I don't feel I missed out on anything at all - tours were not on my to do list, everything AI, combined with information in the rooms meant I managed fine. This was actually the first time in years I have done a 'package', and have never 'missed' having a rep when I have travelled. I read up in advance, ask staff if I want local knowledge, and am generally pretty self sufficient!

I would always recommend to show up there,

of course I know it is a trick to get you to listen to their one hour sales Promotions, hey, that's how all the Rep Companies even from the biggest Touroperators make their living from, just for a good Customers Service they do would get paid for by anybody, so most leave that lil part simply out of the program/brochure.

but make always sure you get the needed/appropriate info about your backtransfers from your Rep, specially make always sure to know at which place they hang out their notifications about flight delays/transfer times changes for your backflight, because by far not most agencies would bring you a notification to your room, and even such notifications delivered to a Resort can sometimes get lost in the long chain before arriving in a Room.

the result could be that you await your transfer at the lobby readily packed but it will be hours later happen,

even worse,

your Plane arrives and leaves earlier than sheduled, so you wait at the expected Time at the lobby, you give 20 additional minutes of Island Time to the shedule before you start to Try to contact your Rep or Tourcompany, while in the meantime Your Plane Took Off and is on the way back home, leaving you dow here in Paradise with some extra time on your Bill, for additional nights at the Resort(IF the Resort has your Room available for additional nights) and of course with the Hassle and Bill to pay for an one way flight back home on one of the next Planes. such Tickets can be one way more costy than the prior booked AI Package for a week at all.

I recommend to attend those meetings at least to gather those important infos.

No need to book anything from the Sales Rep,

you can still book what ever and where ever you want at your convenience.

Of course, he did his excursion sales pitch, but it was done more on an informative tone than a sales pitch (in Cuba, all excursions are managed by the gov't agency, not much to be gained by the rep, I guess).

Anyway, even tho I had done my research, and I knew what excursion I wanted (half-day dolphin swim), what it entailed and how much it cost, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that, it being the low season, they were offering the full-day at the price I was expecting to pay for the half-day.

Now, THIS is a good reason to go to the meeting, if you are contemplating doing an excursion.

How about when you show up and the rep doesn't? Happened to us our last two trips (not the DR), same transfer company.

What angered me was that they didn't even bother to notify us or the resort, like you're just going to keep going back and forth until you meet up with them.

So unless it is a new destination for us, I will no longer be attending briefings.

if your Rep doesnt sow up at te seduled meetin,

ten firstly you sould complain to your Touroperator that their Rep did not even show up and IMHO they should reward you with a nice extra travel candy for such huge leak of priorly paid services,

and 2ndly I would not book with that Touroperator again.

I name that Education of the Big Money Makers by the Small Customers, who finally are the ones that bring the needed money to the big ones.

No Services no future Bussiness.

I did complain. Both times it was the same transfer company, Best Day Tours, in Mexico (as I said, it wasn't the DR). I talked with their local company while we were there and got no where. Making all kinds of excuses. When we got home I informed our booking company and was compensated with a $100 coupon for our next vacation.

Don't you hate that? What if you don't use them again?

It's just another example of how consumers are not getting a fair shake: once their money is paid, public relations goes out the window. I believe in complimenting good service, but we must also voice our complaints so this thing doesn't keep happening to others.

Some of the tour reps are completely useless! I travel with a friend - both guys - and when we were the only two to show up for the meeting the rep began to tell us how he could line of some cheap girls for us - or take us out on the town where all the girls hang out! - We were not impressed!

We also have had some very good ones. Some of the worse however have been with Air Canada.

For this task I will script a welcome meeting for two destinations, which will be Disneyland Paris, and Manhattan in New York.

Hello everybody, and first of all I would like to thank you for attending the welcome meeting on the 1 st  July, here at the Disneyland Hotel! I will try not to keep you here long as I am sure you want to explore the park and the hotel on this hot summer’s day, so basically the reason I am having this welcome meeting is to tell you a bit about the hotel, but mainly about the area around the hotel, and of course Paris’ Magic Kingdom and the Walt Disney studios! So first of all I would like to tell you about the entrance to the park, as guests of the Disneyland Hotel, you are able to watch the guests as they line up outside the imposing gates each morning and then stream into the park from underneath the hotel! This is always a nice thing to do, especially if you have kids with you, as we all know how they can get in the long cues. Now I would like to warn you about something, you will have to watch for the clocks which run backwards in the corridors as this may confuse some of you! Characters roam the lobby and the hall ways throughout the day and a tip for all you kids - t here is a small room on the third floor of the hotel from which they appear, starting at 7.30am each morning - every thirty minutes. Additionally for the adults there is a chance for an excellent photo opportunity, just position yourself on the 'bridge' . So children keep a look out for them! Also there is a swimming pool in this hotel for those smaller members of the family.

Next I would like talk about the weather, July in Paris is generally cool to pleasantly balmy, with average temperatures at around 66 degrees F. In

recent years, however, major heat waves have occasionally struck, particularly in late July, and temperatures have sometimes climbed to the 90's. so my advice to all of you and particularly either Elderly or younger visitors and visitors with medical conditions should be alert to possible spikes in temperature, and take necessary precautions. Although you rooms all do have air conditioning so feel free to come and cool up in your room, or use the hotels swimming pool. On the other hand however Paris is known for having unpredictable rain showers and despite the hot weather July Is one of the rainiest months of the year so expect some erratic thunderstorms and heavy showers so I would advise you Pack a reliable umbrella in case one of these surprises you during a stroll around the park or at a picnic or something similar to that. Additionally another tip I have is to be prepare to wear   both closed-toe and open-toe shoes particularly you elderly lot! As On hot days or excursions to the park you'll appreciate the open-toed pair, but you'll need a good, comfortable pair of walking shoes too, especially since visits to Disneyland Paris usually involves lots of strolling, and last thing I would advise wearing a hat with sun cream as well.

Now I would like to tell you the many attractions, Parents and particularly women! Have any of you brought 2 suitcases? Well if you have I am sure you will want to listen to this. If there is one thing you will never have a problem finding in Disneyland Paris, it will be its stores. Various themed and general stores are spread liberally throughout the park, selling Disney merchandise and general memorabilia. They carry everything from pencils to books, from Indiana Jones fedora hats to Cinderella costumes. The sky is basically the limit on what you can buy at Disneyland Paris . You can buy glass/crystal trinkets and sword replicas in the central castle. So if you have come to Disneyland Paris with children, be prepared; cowboy hats and pistols

or knights' swords seem to be essentials for boys; Cinderella costumes for girls.

The main shopping area of Disneyland Paris is Main Street USA. The largest store at Walt Disney Studios Paris is Disney Studio 1, which you will see straight ahead after you enter the park. Disney Village has a large collection of retailers, including a Disney Store. And while I’m on the topic of Parents, Does anyone here have young children? If so there is a scheme for toddlers or babies. On the rides there is a system here at Disney called the Baby Switch which is a great system for people with very young children. Essentially only one has to queue while the other waits with the baby and then is taken straight to the front of the line. Although it should be noted that if you are riding the Rock 'n' Rollercoaster the Baby Switch process is slightly different. Once the first adult has been on the ride, they collect a ticket at the exit. The second parent then has to queue through the Fast Pass entrance (although the ride attendants recommendation is merely to push your way to the front of the queue), which can take some time.

For those of you of business, you will happy to know that there is some excellent conference rooms for you – ‘Disney’s hotel New York’, ‘Disney’s Newport bay club’ and there is also an IMAX Auditorium, so if you’ve Organised your convention at our resort or are visiting one. Disney's Hotel New York® Convention centre is integrated into the hotel and offers around 5000 square metres of multi-purpose facilities that can be configured for business meetings, lunches, gala dinners and shows for 12 to 2,200 people. This convention centre has a separate reception for conference attendees, a Business Centre, a welcome desk and a 600 square metres foyer for coffee breaks, receptions, etc. furthermore A Business Centre is available with IT

equipment, secretarial service, telecommunications, reprographics and printing facilities.

Have we any aspiring pro golfers here today? As the Disneyland Golf lies a few kilometres away from the Resort. Set among island greens, lakes and flower-covered knolls. This unique course is extremely popular – both with experienced golfers, for whom it presents new challenges, and with beginners, who can make rapid progress thanks to the long par-5s with double fairways. For groups, the specialists at Disneyland® Golf offer 2 types of packages, either for beginners or experts. The golf course may also be privatised for company tournaments. The golf area will suit any of your golfing needs. It is actually a really nice course with 27 holes to play on, and if you play like me at golf, the most important part is the 35 different practice stations! To accompany this is a bar and restaurant along with a pro shop.

An interesting part of Disney is the team building attractions, so if anyone is here to see how well they work as team, or maybe if you’re on here with a sports team, this could be for you. There are 4 main team building activities – ‘Treasure hunt at disneyland park’, ‘in search of the last reel at Walt Disney studio park’, ‘Davy Crockett adventure at Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch’. Along with the Disneyland golf. My favourite being the Davy Crockett ranch.   This treetop adventure trail takes you up to 17 metres high in a fully grown forest. There are five levels to explore, from beginners and children above 1.1 metres to super fit and super brave.  Swings, trapezes, rope bridges and ladders await you for some of the most intense thrills you’ll have anywhere. It is a chance to discover new sensations. As well as learn about the forest and your own limits. That is all I have say so apart from that I hope your stay is a good one.

Hello everyone, I hope your trip wasn’t too bad. To begin with I would like to welcome you all to the Surrey hotel here in Manhattan. And I would to thank you all for attending this welcome meeting on the 13 th  march. I will do my best not to hold you here for too long as I am in no doubt that you will want to get outside on this snowy day!

So I am going to tell you a bit about the hotel and the attractions and trips you can visit while on your holiday. Firstly I’d like to tell you about an easy way to find the hotel when you’re out and about in the city. For those of you that don’t know Manhattan has what is called a grid system. Which is shown on the maps that I will hand out at the end, so remember the hotel is based east on 76 th  street.

Anyway I am going to first tell you about the weather here, as you might know already it is generally cold in March here so be prepared to wear warm clothes. And I would advise you all, especially if you have young children with you to wear gloves and warm hats.

But enough of that, I would now like to tell you about one of the many trips we offer, to start with is what we call the Manhattan sky tour, you will take to the Manhattan skies for an exciting helicopter tour of New York City. Your flight takes you over Ground Zero and past the Statue of Liberty, and offers magnificent views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Yankee Stadium. So whether

you’re here on business and want to show a client around or on a family visit this is an excellent experience. On this New York Helicopter Flight you will have a bird's-eye view of New York's skyline, followed by fantastic photo opportunities of the Statue of Liberty, New York Harbour, the Verrazano Bridge, the financial district and Ground Zero. Next, your flight turns around and heads back over Manhattan to take in New York's world-famous skyline featuring the Empire State Building, Chrysler and Met Life Buildings.

You will be able to enjoy majestic views of Central Park on your way to once-in-a-lifetime views of many of New York's other historic landmarks. See Yankee Stadium, Grant's Tomb, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, George Washington Bridge and more as you fly over Manhattan.

And take it from me whether this is your first time in New York City or your 50th visit, a New York Helicopter Flight is a thrilling way to see this great city from a unique perspective you will not soon forget. So if you are interested in that, flights operate from the Downtown Heliport - Pier 6 and East River and flights leave every 15 minutes Monday through Friday 10:00am to 5:45pm Saturday and Sunday 11:00am to 5:45pm, it lasts around 20 minutes and costs around $120 but is completely worth it, additionally you don’t have to worry if you are in wheelchair as it is wheelchair accessible and this includes the taxi fares there and back.

Next I would like to tell you, particularly all you women! About historic orchard street shopping district which has around 400 shops in the heart of New York’s Lower East Side. This district is host to a variety of shops which does include traditional menswear if you men fancy a shop. As well as avant-garde boutique shops, wholesale linen and fabrics, European designer fashions, bargain leather and intimate apparel, jewellery, and luggage. While

shopping, you will also be able to stop at one of the many restaurants or cafes lining the districts historic streets. And it really has virtually any kind of restaurant including , , Kosher, , , , , ,  and finally  so there really is something for every family member.  

Although if you are looking for a quiet more local day  why not visit what is perched peacefully on the 17th floor overlooking the Upper East Side and Central Park, the rooftop garden at The Surrey is a true oasis. A tranquil, elegant setting for relaxing or for business entertaining, the garden also features exclusive service from Cafe Boulud for beverages, light meals and anything else you may require. Nestled in Manhattan Upper East Side, The Surrey is located minutes away from the very best of the city--Central Park, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the galleries and boutiques of Madison Avenue.

Now I would like to talk to you about central park, and I am going to start with something to do for those of you with children here with them, j ust a few yards from 5th Ave. you’ll find over 130 different species ranging from giant Polar Bears to the tiny Leaf Cutter ants. I am of course talking about the wildlife zoo. A walk around the Zoo’s five plus acres will take you through a variety of habitats, all carefully designed to recreate the natural environment of the animals they house. At the left you’ll see a list of links to the pages describing all of the Zoo’s inhabitants.  Be sure to check out the renovated Polar Seabirds exhibit with their 4 new King Penguins and the Children’s Zoo's newest member - A newborn baby Mini-Nubian Goat!

There three main sections of the zoo - ‘the polar circle’ which contains polar bears, penguins, puffins to name a few, another section is ‘the rain forest’

which houses a brilliant collection of tropical birds including the Crested Coua of Madagascar and the Victoria Crowned Pigeons of New Guinea. Here you’ll also find enough , , ,  and various other  to keep any little girl or boy enraptured for their entire visit. Then there are the , as well as three species of , to represent the primates of the tropics. The final section is called The Temperate Territory wh i ch  includes the  tank at the center of the exhibit and stretches around the rear of the Zoo. This section is home to the  and .  Here you’ll also find the lovely . And kids! why not try and look for three amazing Snow Leopards which joined the zoo just last year.

Also there are two ice skating rinks to enjoy and there is also a public swimming pool although it might be slightly too cold for that, however march in Manhattan is a rather unpredictable month for weather so we could soon have a sunny day and the swimming pool could be an ideal day out.

One other place our hotel has trips to, possibly for the elderly lot or those interested in history is the Belvedere castle which is situated mid-park on 79 th  street. Besides offering breathtaking views the Castle also serves as a weather station, in fact whenever you see a local news broadcast that gives the temperature in Central Park, the readings are taken at Belvedere Castle. It also serves as the  so this is a really interesting place is visit. Inside are collections of natural history artifacts (skeletons, paper Mache birds) as well as microscopes and telescopes, all designed to give young visitors an insight into methodology of naturalists. Aspiring scientists can borrow field packs that contain binoculars, reference material, maps, and notepaper, which can all be used to explore the Ramble, or to study the

aquatic life from the edge of . And lastly the Castle is also the favorite haunt of many of Central Park’s cadre of dedicated bird watchers, a great place to catch a glimpse of hawks, kestrels or osprey.

Hi, I'm Olly and I'm a husband, father, travel industry leader and CEO of one of the leading travel businesses in the UK. My journey to success was not easy. I struggled with my stammer throughout my childhood and adolescence, which affected my confidence and what I thought was my ability to communicate effectively.

I was frequently bullied at school due to my stammer, which made me feel isolated and alone. I also found it challenging to read in front of the class. This affected my academic performance and led to feelings of anxiety and frustration. I wasn't just bullied by my fellow classmates, but on occasions by teachers also. One French teacher told me to "Spit it out" as I tried to read a sentence in French from a textbook.

As I grew older, I became increasingly aware of how my stammer was impacting my life. I found it difficult to socialise with peers, speak in public and make presentations, which significantly impacted my confidence, self-esteem and career opportunities.

I stammered throughout the entire presentation, at one point being so anxious I thought I was about to pass out.

Interview success

Despite these challenges, I remained determined to succeed. I started my career as a holiday rep, which required me to interact with hundreds of people every day. On the day of the interview I was so nervous as I had to present for 20 minutes on a holiday destination of my choosing. I felt I was terrible; I stammered throughout the entire presentation, at one point being so anxious I thought I was about to pass out. It was only down to a guy called Brian North that I got through the interview. Later in life I asked Brian why he had given me the job. He said it was down to my perseverance and for not giving up, and also, he said, he could tell I had something special.

  • Get support for stammering at work

I arrived in Menorca in the Summer of 2002 and worked at Thomson Holidays' flagship hotel. My team leader Rachel had chosen me to join her team over 100 other potential reps. I thought she was crazy! Why pick the guy who was terrified of presenting or interacting? During that summer, Rachel and the team supported me every step of the way. They would pick me up when I thought it was too much and help me revise my welcome meeting script so that it was one less thing to be anxious about. The support she and the team gave me that first summer changed my life forever. That year we achieved the highest Customer Satisfaction Questionnaire result globally for Thomson Holidays and the highest level of sales. All from a kid who had a stammer.

This experience taught me to face my fears and push myself outside my comfort zone, gradually working on reducing the impact of my stammer. Over time, my career progressed and I became more confident in my abilities, working in various positions within the travel industry before becoming the CEO of Attraction World Group in 2019. However, whilst my career went in a positive direction my mental health remained scarred from years of undiagnosed anxiety.

That year we achieved the highest Customer Satisfaction Questionnaire result globally for Thomson Holidays and the highest level of sales. All from a kid who had a stammer. 

What stammering's given me

My experience of becoming more confident with my stammer has given me a unique perspective on the importance of effective communication over fluency, and I have used this to my advantage in my career. I also strongly advocate raising awareness of stammering and reducing its stigma. My journey has also had a profound impact on my personal life, making me more empathetic and always willing to help others who are struggling with similar challenges.

To anyone who is struggling with a stammer or any other communication difficulty, I want to say that the biggest piece of advice I would give is to not let it hold you back. It's important to find ways to manage your stammer and your fears surrounding it, and build up your confidence. For me, moving overseas and speaking in front of large groups of people was the turning point, but it might be something different for someone else.

It's also important to remember that there is no shame in having a stammer. It's just a part of who you are and doesn't define you. And finally, don't be afraid to ask for help. There are lots of resources available, like speech and language therapy and support groups that can help you manage your stammer and your feelings about it. I even used to wear a ring that span in the middle so I would focus my energy on that rather than on my words.

But ultimately it's about embracing your stammer and turning it into your superpower. It has made me who I am today.

If you’re planning on giving a speech, you should also count on hosting a Christmas office party. That should go without saying.

A great seasonal speech reflects on the successful year past and helps us relive enjoyable memories. And your speaker, whether it be you or a professional keynote speaker, will be the one to set the tone for the entire Christmas event.

That’s why having a remarkable and heartwarming speech is so essential.

How To Have An Amazing Annual Office Party During The Holidays

We all know that seasonal office parties are one of the most iconic parts of the holiday season. And, of course, your organization should be included in that!

Your speech won’t be complete unless it’s leading up to something. You’re setting the tone for the successful year ahead, and there needs to be something to commemorate that!

And that something should be a Christmas office party. The best way to make your speech and subsequent party stand out is to truly embrace the holiday party spirit.

When I say “be funny,” most people automatically think about telling a   joke . And, of course, telling a joke is the best way to get the laughter flowing.

Don’t be afraid to tell a corny dad joke. The funniest material is comfortable and family-friendly , so let it all out!

#4. I nclude Everyone!

The holidays are a time for connection, affection, and heartwarming celebrations. Your holiday office speech should be something that will unite your entire team together.

Sometimes, people get carried away, and they establish their emcee humor with crude or dirty jokes in an attempt to pry some laughter from their audience. Don’t do that .

Use inclusive, inviting, and welcoming language, and steer clear of divisive and inappropriate topics . The holidays are full of gratifying and comforting communications. So focus on that!

#5. D ecorate The Place Where You’ll Give Your Speech

As I stated earlier, your speech isn’t complete without a holiday party. But both of those aspects aren’t complete without expressive holiday decorations!

Having festive and enjoyable decorations around you will make your speech more touching and fitting. 

A seasonal speech deserves to be in a seasonal environment, and cheerful decorations are the best way to do that!

Think about it like this : you wouldn’t give a speech about hiking in the Rocky Mountains sitting on a tropical beach. Those two things don’t exactly fit together nor do they promote a unique theme.

A once-a-year holiday event and speech should have unique decorations to truly bring those festive feelings to life! Whether you are in a rented-out venue or in your daily office space for your speech and party, add in those seasonal decorations, and the rest will fall in line.

#6. A ppreciation Will Go A Long Way

Like recognition, employee appreciation around the holidays is essential. It’s the season of giving, and being stingy with expressing your gratitude can send the wrong type of message.

Showing your employees genuine appreciation and gratitude is the first step in creating a happy and healthy workplace. Your speech just shouldn’t be about celebrating the holidays.

Your speech should be about recognizing your team!

Show genuine emotions, give sincere compliments, and pass on heartfelt sentiments. Your Christmas speech should be touching. And this is the way to do it.

Better yet, attach a holiday gift to your speech. A small token or assorted stocking stuffers are holiday-appropriate and act as a simple gesture to express your gratitude.

Regardless of the time of the year, you’re still giving a speech . You need to be prepared and organized in your material to ensure your message can reach your target audience.

How To Practice Holiday Speeches

If you want your Christmas speech to be memorable and enlightening, you’ll need to work on fine-tuning your public speaking skills . Especially if you get nervous or anxious speaking in front of a crowd , practicing your material will go a long way in setting you up for success.

But before you can practice your speech, you need to write your speech .

Usually, many people may overthink their speech writing. Just keep in mind the tips I’ve laid out for you, and speak from the heart .

Because the most important part of your speech is how you deliver it . Even if you have killer material and hilarious jokes, they won’t hit home if you are just mumbling on stage and acting awkward.

Here are some tips for practicing your speech the right way .

  • Rehearse and get feedback. That means you should practice in front of a mirror , in front of friends or family members , or with a video camera to review later.
  • Pay attention to your body language. This is where videoing your practice sessions can help. Make sure you’re not doing anything distracting like swaying or fidgeting.
  • Use pauses to drive your points home and provide emphasis on keywords or phrases.
  • And repeat it all over and over until you are 100% confident in your Christmas speech!

But likely one of the best ways to give a great speech is to have fun with it . Feeling open and connected with your audience will help them relate to you and your message.

TRADITIONAL resort welcome meetings could become entertainment-based or disappear completely for certain brands in a major service review by TUI.

It follows a service overhaul to improve the “end-to-end customer experience” with all shop, airline and resort staff trained on new service principles.

Encouraging staff to focus more on service has been linked to some of TUI’s best customer service questionnaire scores – in July the company overall scored 79%, up two percentage points year on year. The review is being extended to look at how welcome meetings could be altered following waning popularity among holidaymakers.

General manager of oversees development Louise Bates said welcome meetings could change for Superfamily programmes next summer, particularly as meetings do not always hold the attention of children.

“As a result reps struggle to communicate with families. We’re looking at more entertainment-based formats, designing meetings around a play or a quiz, for example,” said Bates.

She added: “The review is aimed at making service our key differentiator against rivals and new entrants in the market.”

For more well-travelled customers who don’t spend much on excursions – such as the A La Carte and Small and Friendly brands – the traditional welcome meeting could be ditched for 2005 and information given out in a different way.

TUI has trialled alternatives such as giving customers information during flights or through televisions in hotel bedrooms.

While it is unlikely these will be adopted, Bates said: “If traditional welcome meetings are not what people want we’ve got to stop them and make the format more modern and relevant.”

From May 1, when all Lunn Poly, Thomson Holidays and Britannia staff adopted the same uniform, TUI introduced its new service principles, including phrases such as “resolve, don’t blame”, on credit card-sized cards for all customer-facing staff. All resort staff have been given a guide on service.

Product from rival operators will be bookable online on TUI’s retail website lunnpoly.co.uk in the next six months. Currently only Thomson Holidays product can be booked on the site, but technology has been improved to boost sales through the channel.

THE VICE PRESIDENT:  Can we hear it for Joi?  (Applause.)

Hi, everyone.  Please have a seat.  Have a seat. 

Joi, you are — and I — and I got to meet that baby girl of yours.  Oh, my god, she’s precious.  To you and your husband and to your family, I thank you for your courage and your willingness to share your story.

And to everyone here, I thank you for your leadership and your work and all that you are doing on behalf of so many people who deserve to be seen, deserve to be heard, and whose voices are so important about what this issue means. 

I want to thank the leaders who are here.  I don’t want to miss anybody.  I hope I don’t.  But I do know that Arizona Senator Burch is here.  Where are you?   Hi.  There you are.  (Applause.)  We were just together on Friday in Tucson. 

I’m — you know, again, if I could just take a moment to say that I have met some extraordinary people over the course of these last two years, who have been willing to share something that is so personal and would otherwise be very private — it’s their business — it’s not everybody’s business; it’s their business — and, because of what has happened, have decided to share your stories because you know how many other people are being affected who may not have the ability to stand before a microphone and the press and talk about these things.

And that takes a lot, because you’re going through your own experience and you’re sharing it with perfect strangers.  And so, I want to thank you guys. 

And there’s so many other people who, over the course of these last two years, have been sharing their story so that we understand this is not about politics, this is not about ideology.  This is about the fact that far too many people are suffering and should not have to.

So, thank you guys.  And thank you again to Senator Burch.  (Applause.)

Congresswoman Dina Titus, I thank you always for your leadership in this beautiful state of Nevada.  (Applause.)  Nevada State Party Chair Daniele — where is she? — thank you very much — Monroe-Moreno.  (Applause.)

My dear friend, the Attorney General, General Ford, I thank you — (applause) — for fighting for justice every day and fighting for the — the spirit behind the principles that were the foundation for our country and are enshrined in the Constitution of the United States.  I thank you for your work.

And then Senator Jacky Rosen could not be here, but let’s get her reelected, please, to the United States Senate.  (Applause.)

So, I was in Tucson on Friday, and we talked about it, and I’m going to just share a little bit about what is obvious to everyone here.  Freedom is fundamental to the promise of America.  When we talk about the promise of America, foundationally, we believe in freedom.  We know that the strength of our nation has been a function of many things, including our commitment to the expansion of rights.

But for the first time in a very long time, we are seeing a full-on attent — intent to restrict rights, to take rights. 

We just witnessed the highest court in our land, almost two years ago — the court of Thurgood and RBG — take a constitutional right that had been recognized from the people of America, from the women of America. 

And thereafter, in state after state, laws being proposed and passed that would criminalize healthcare providers — I mean, literally laws that are providing for prison time for doctors and nurses — in Texas, for life — laws that would punish women, laws that are meant to judge and make people feel as though they’ve done something wrong and as though they are alone and should be embarrassed, laws that are immoral.

An example being those that make no exception even for rape or incest, which means you are telling a survivor of a crime — a violation to their body — violence to their body — that they don’t have the right to determine what happens to their body next.  Immoral.

So, we are here to say that we’re not going to stand for this.  It is not okay, and we are prepared to organize and to take to the streets and to knock on doors and to text folks and to let everyone know their power at this moment to protect the rights of the people of our country. 

And so, I wanted to stop by here to thank, in particular, the organizers and volunteers that are doing this work in preparation for the ballot initiative coming up in November here in Nevada.  (Applause.) 

And, look, they’re holding up their clipboards.  Exactly.  (Laughs.)  (Applause.)

And you guys are making such a difference, because it is also about reminding folks that we’re all in this together and reminding folks it doesn’t have to be this way.  It doesn’t have to be this way. 

But, you know, the thing about a democracy that is founded on the notion of individual rights and liberties and freedoms is that we got to fight and be vigilant to maintain those rights and freedoms.  Right?

You know, the nature of democracy is such that it’s really — there’s a duality to it.  When a democracy is intact, oh, the strength — the strength that it invests in its people, in protection of their individual rights and liberties and freedoms — the strength it gives its people.  And it is very fragile.  A democracy is only as strong as our willingness to fight for it.  (Applause.)

And that’s what you all are doing.  That’s what — and that’s what we’re doing together.  That’s what we’re doing together.

AUDIENCE:  Four more years!  Four more years!  Four more years!

THE VICE PRESIDENT:  And we are going to win across — we’re going to win this ballot initiative.  And Joe Biden and I are going back to the White House.  

But let me just tell you — (applause) — and here’s the thing about this election in terms of that point about the White House and who sits in those seats — I know that the speakers mentioned it earlier.  On this issue of — of the freedom to make decisions about one’s own body, the right to have access to reproductive healthcare, the right to have that autonomy and that authority and not have it be taken from their government, not having people who sit up in a — in a statehouse telling people what they’re supposed to do and what is in their best interest as though the women of America don’t know what is in their own best interest — on the issue of this subject and then the upcoming election, let us be clear: There is a direct track between what we have seen in states like Arizona, what the people of Nevada are fighting for, and who the previous president was.

Let’s not forget, Donald Trump made clear his intention to select three members of the United States Supreme Court so that they would overturn the protections of Roe v. Wade.  It was his stated intention, and they did as he intended.

And you all — many of you may remember, I was in the United States Senate at the time and served on the Judiciary Committee and would raise the subject.  Sadly, a lot of us could see what was going to come, and exactly what we feared happened because there was a president who has the power to select members of the United States Supreme Court who intended to undo these protections.

Let’s be clear, then, that when he sits back and most recently says, “Well, I believe that the states should make these decisions,” he says — right?  Okay.  So, you believe that the states have a right to reinstate laws from the 1800s to criminalize healthcare providers, to provide up to prison for life, no exception for crimes of violence to someone’s body.

So, let’s all be clear: What we are seeing in these states that we are talking about are Trump abortion bans, and he can’t get away from that.  Those are Trump abortion bans. 

And this election is about many, many important issues, including the ability of the people to organize in support of what we believe to be foundational values and principles about who we are as America. 

And when we look at our power, let’s not forget the power of the people, and let’s not overlook the momentum we’ve already achieved.  I’ll remind us: When this issue has been on the ballot —

Yes, my love.  (Laughter.)   

When this issue has been on the ballot — from Kentucky to California, from Virginia to Ohio, when this issue has been on the ballot, the voters voted in favor of freedoms — in red state and blue — making clear, by the way, this is not a partisan issue — making clear there is a consensus among the American people that it is wrong to take rights from the people of our country.

So, momentum is on our side.  We have 205 days until the election.  Yes, I am counting.  (Laughter.)

And I do believe that the work that we are doing and are committed to doing — because you’re here — over these next 205 days is not only important, but it’s — it’s fun.  (Laughs.) 

Isn’t it fun to work on a campaign?  (Applause.)  Isn’t it fun to meet people you may not have otherwise ever met before who all come together in a place like this, who are all carrying those — those boards, just working together because we believe in each other and we know the power that we have, especially when we come together?

And so, I just want to leave everyone with this thought, which is there is so much good in our country and in the world, but we can’t take anything for granted. 

And this is an extraordinary group of leaders who are doing this work here in this beautiful state of Nevada, who are going to have an impact, for the most part, on people that you may never meet, people who may never know your name, but who are forever going to be benefited because of the work that you all are doing.  (Applause.) 

And so, I came by to thank you for all that you are doing in defense of our country and each other.  And let’s just carry on.  And we’re going to take this to November.

And we’re going to reelect Jacky Rosen to the United States Senate.  (Applause.)  And we’re going to get this ballot measure passed.  And we’re going to reelect Joe Biden as President of the United States, and I’m going to head back too.  (Applause.)
