GTA Online: Manufacturing researches - bunkers guide, Gunrunning GTA Online guide, tips

Last update: 25 May 2020

Right after buying a bunker your first task is to complete, so called, Setup Missions. They are typical preparatory missions during which you get staff and supplies which are necessary in manufacturing and researches. Thanks to researches you get access to new upgrades (which can't be obtained in any other way) and thanks to manufacturing you can create weapons which can be later sold.

Manufacturing

Thanks to researches you get access to various new options - GTA Online: Manufacturing researches - bunkers guide, Gunrunning - Bunkers - GTA Online Guide

Thanks to researches you get access to various new options. You unlock equipment for new military vehicles, new options for Mobile Operations Center and numerous modifications for existing weapons. Depending on how well developed your base is the time for completing one project usually takes 4 - 6 hours.

There are 45 different projects (this means that you need more than 200 hours to unlock them all!) and many of them requires completing minor researches (you must get the smaller upgrades first to unlock those, that are more useful). It should also be mentioned that results of your researches are random. In other words, you don't know which project is currently developed.

The research bar has 60 points. You need 100 points to develop one new technology. A bunker without upgrades generates 1 research unit each 5 minutes (filling the entire bar takes about 8.5 hours). However, a fully upgraded bunker generates 1 research unit every 3.5 minutes (filling the entire bar takes about 3.5 hours).

Below, you can find comparison between researches without and with upgrades:

There is also an option to use, so called, Fast Tracking. A selected project can be researched immediately if you pay a required amount of money. The price for developing a technology without research points is $225.000. If you want to use this option again you have to wait a few minutes.

Besides researches, you can also decide to use your supplies on manufacturing weapons that you can later sell - GTA Online: Manufacturing researches - bunkers guide, Gunrunning - Bunkers - GTA Online Guide

Besides researches, you can also decide to use your supplies on manufacturing weapons that you can later sell. Below you can find comparison how manufacturing looks without and with upgrades:

Ultimate GTA Online Bunker Guide

Are you looking to find out more about GTA Online’s Bunkers? We’ll be breaking down everything you need to know in this guide.

gta online bunker guide

Here, you can click on a particular section within this article, otherwise, scroll down as we cover everything you need to know about GTA Online’s legendary Terrorbyte.

What Are Bunkers, And How Do They Work?

Bunker locations, best value for money bunkers – which should i buy, bunker customization, bunker business upgrades, bunker research vs. production/manufacturing, bunker supplies, potential bunker profits, bunker stock time, selling bunker stock.

  • How To Sell Your GTA Online Bunker

After its initial launch in 2013, GTA V’s multiplayer-addition, GTA Online, has become arguably the most significant game in Grand Theft Auto’s incredible history.

With Take-Two Interactive recently announcing that GTA Online has now sold over 135 million copies, the five-million copies sold during Q1 2020 have succeeded any other quarter since its initial launch.

Although this may be partly due to COVID-19, there’s no doubt that the continual significant updates provided to fans across the world are enabling GTA Online to evolve into one of the most incredible games of all time.

As we look ahead to the future, there’s still no confirmed sightings of GTA 6 on the horizon.

However, with the upcoming launch of the next-generation consoles such as the PS5 and Xbox Series X, Take-Two has promised: “A range of technical improvements, visual upgrades, and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the latest hardware”.

For the next-gen consoles, GTA Online will become a standalone release, as well as receiving exclusive updates and content.

PS5 owners are due to get the game for free in the three-months following its release, and PS Plus subscribers will get 1-million GTA dollars every month you play the GTA Online before the PS5 release date.

One of Rockstar’s most exceptional updates to the current-gen GTA Online was the Gunrunning DLC, which completely revolutionized the game.

hard parked stance

With this new DLC came a tremendous amount of content, with Bunkers becoming one of the most sought-after features.

Although we could be here all day explaining why the update is worthwhile, some of the most significant features were the Mobile Operations Center (MOC), Gunrunning Business, 750 new clothing items, a wide variety of new weapons, and over 19 new vehicles.

Among the cars included was the impressive Dewbauchee Vagner, which earned its spot in our Fastest Cars In GTA Online guide.

Alongside these updates were the addition of Bunkers, and in this guide, we’ll be taking an in-depth look at everything you need to know to make the most of this impressive feature in GTA Online.

As you may have guessed, the Bunkers in GTA provide a massive underground, Former Military facility base.

Bunkers are capable of being provided with living quarters and storage, which will also provide room for your MOC.

There are also workshops, which is where you’ll be able to carry out research, allowing you to customize and upgrade your weapons and vehicles.

After receiving the introductory phone call from Agent 14, you’ll have eleven Bunkers available to purchase from Maze Bank Foreclosures, and Agent 14 will provide you with a guided tour to explain the features.

Upon purchasing a Bunker, MC, VIP, CEO, or President Players will gain access to the Gunrunning Business, enabling you to run illegal weaponry trafficking operations throughout Los Santos and Blaine Country.

We wouldn’t typically expect a Gunrunning Business to be your primary source of income, and we wouldn’t use it as a replacement for other business ventures, such as Import/Export, or running crates.

However, a Bunker is extremely useful since it’ll provide a passive income by taking supplies and converting them into stock, which you can sell over time.

If you’re short on time, it may be worth swapping your Biker business for a Gunrunning business, since it provides a similar business method, but with more substantial investments and returns.

Unlike the Biker business, the Bunker typically only requires one vehicle for a ‘Sell Mission,’ leaving less chance that someone will stumble upon your unguarded product before destroying it.

Don’t expect to use Gunrunning as a get-rich-quick scheme, especially to begin with, as it’s always a good idea to use your initial profits to fast-track your research.

For regular players, we see the Bunker as a must-have feature in the game, allowing you to upgrade your weaponized vehicles, research further improvements, and also enhance your weapons to their MK2 variants.

It’s vital to remember that the single most crucial feature of a Bunker is going to be its location. So, let’s take a look at them now.

If you’d rather watch a video, describing the locations of the Bunkers found in GTA Online, then check out the video below.

We’ve also provided a brief description below to help you track them down.

Mafia’s Secret Bunker

If you’re willing to put in the work, you can also hunt down the mafia’s secret bunker, as shown in this video guide:

As with most property in GTA Online, you only have the option to purchase one Bunker, so make sure you choose wisely.

You’ll want to plan for this and decide which Bunker best aligns with your long-term goals.

Here are four of the most popular Bunkers in GTA Online, and why they’re often the personal choice for players.

Chumash Bunker – $1.65M

Many GTA Online players choose Chumash thanks to its convenient location between the city, country, and several mission locations within the game, it’s also located close to an Ammu-Nation and clothes store.

For this reason, Chumash can be beneficial for those of you that frequently find themselves switching between business and other activities.

It’s also easily accessed from the highway, unlike some other Bunker locations.

But, we’ll warn you – make sure you approach it carefully, or you may end up driving off the cliff, leaving your stock in the ocean.

Believe us when we say that this is hugely annoying when it happens!

Farmhouse Bunker – $2.37M

Farmhouse Bunker is the most expensive in the game, so it’s certainly not for everyone.

It’s main positive is the rural location, which means you won’t frequently have to fight off other players, yet is still conveniently accessed from the highway.

You can also form a Helicopter/Hydra spawn outside, which can be useful.

Its main downside is the dirt road leading to it, which can be a pain in larger vehicles, the surrounding fence can also become annoying when approaching with the Oppressor.

For the money, it’s probably not going to be the best choice unless your pockets are overflowing with cash since you’re not going to reap many additional benefits.

Raton Canyon Bunker – $1.45M

Raton Canyon is the second cheapest Bunker in the game, and its price-tag combined with its secluded location may make it an appealing proposition for many gamers.

The surrounding mountains can make this perfect for aerial approach and descent, providing some useful additional security.

Despite being in a mountainous area, it still offers convenient access to the highway, yet it is just out of the way of anyone likely to give you any hassle.

Given that this isn’t typically a popular choice, so it may well be the perfect solution to your needs.

Route 68 – $1.95M

Given its location, Route 68 is often a love/hate choice since you’re likely to receive a lot of hassle from other players.

Here, you can expect gunfights to take place right outside the entrance at the cost of having a convenient location.

For us, we typically opt for a more secluded location. Alternatively, Chumash is still in a functional area, but with less hassle on your doorstep than Route 68.

Best Bunker to Buy in GTA Online

Although some players may have personal reasons for preferring other bunkers, we feel that the closer your Bunker is to Los Santos, the better.

Given that you can sell your weapons for the highest profit at Ammu-Nation in Los Santos, it’s somewhere that we find ourselves spending a lot of our time, which is why we believe that the Chumash Bunker is the best all-rounder.

If you’ve got plenty of cash to splash, you can also consider upgrading the Personal Quarters, which will enable you to spawn here conveniently.

With a price tag of just $1,650,000, we feel that you will struggle to do better than the Chumash Bunker, especially given its proximity to the highway – but ensure you don’t go driving off the cliff!

Once you’ve built up your balance, and some spare cash to splash, there’s a variety of additional Bunker customizations.

Bunker Style

If you’re tired of the look of your Bunker’s interior, then you’ll be able to choose from two additional options to kit it out how you’d like it.

However, these styles do come at a price: $215,000, or $290,000, to be precise.

It’s probably not going to be the most vital upgrade, but it may be worth considering if you end up spending a lot of time in your Bunker.

Personal Quarters

These make for a convenient spawn location, but if that’s not much use, then this is mostly a cosmetic addition, and for $265,000, it may not be worth the cost for your needs.

Shooting Range

The Shooting Range is one of the most common and practical additions to your Bunker.

shooting range black red

As you’ve probably guessed, this allows you to practice with manually-aimed weaponry, and comes with a choice of either black/red targets, at $740,000, or a white/red alternative at $845,000.

Another benefit of the Shooting Range is that you’re able to take on challenges to unlock additional in-game weapons.

For $175,000, you can get yourself this useful weapon storage unit.

Transportation

With this upgrade, you get a tuned golf buggy to navigate your way around the Bunker. There are two options to choose from, Caddy 1, at $85,000, or Caddy 2, at $120,000.

caddy

In all honesty, we’ve found them a bit of a gimmick, that isn’t any quicker than navigating on foot. However, they are excellent for getting stuck in corridors, Austin Powers style.

If you’re wanting to ensure that your Bunker is producing money as quickly as possible, then Business Upgrades are the way to go.

Upgrading your business allows you to achieve optimal speed and security when it comes to manufacturing weapons.

However, it will cost you a pretty penny, which means it’ll take a while to see any real profit.

Equipment Upgrade

At the cost of $1,155,000, this upgrade will provide superior research and manufacturing times, while also improving the value of your stock.

Staff Upgrade

As you’ve guessed, this enables you to hire more staff, therefore providing further increased research and manufacturing times.

Since this upgrade costs $598,500, yet it can provide substantial profits, it’s typically the first upgrade that people choose.

Security Upgrade

Despite being just $351,000, this is often the least favored upgrade, mainly due to not providing return profits, unlike the other two – this does offer a useful CCTV system, though.

If you skimp on the Security Upgrade, it can feel like a worthwhile saving – until the day your stock gets stolen by your rivals.

Although the Security Upgrade can be a useful addition, Equipment, along with Staff, are often seen as the two vital early upgrades to your Bunker to ensure that it’s producing optimal profits.

Once you’ve settled into your Bunker, you’ll need to complete the first mission to get supplies before providing your staff with two options: Work on Production/Manufacturing or Research.

By carrying out research, you’ll gain access to an array of new options, such as MOC upgrades, military vehicle equipment upgrades, and a variety of additional options for your current weapons stash that wouldn’t otherwise be available in the game.

Research typically takes around 4-6 hours, and given that there are over 45 projects to research, this can take some time.

A standard Bunker generates one research unit every 5 minutes. However, a fully upgraded Bunker will produce 1 unit every 3.5 minutes, requiring a total of 3.5 hours to fill the research bar.

Alternatively, you can also use ‘Fast Tracking,’ where you’re able to research a specific project right away, providing you’re willing to pay the price, and at $225,000, it’s certainly not cheap. There’s also a three-minute cooldown period once the research is complete.

Once you’ve done sufficient research, it’s time to move on to production/manufacturing, which is where you’ll use your supplies to manufacture weapons that you’ll be able to sell.

If you’ve fully upgraded the staff and equipment, you’ll be able to sell 100 units of arms outside of Blaine County for over $1M, leaving you with a potential profit of $675,000, which you could then put towards three more research ‘Fast Tracks’.

If you wish to ‘Fast Track’ all of the projects, this is likely to set you back around $10M, which sounds a lot, but now that you’ve streamlined the process, you’ll be pulling in fantastic profits.

Supplies are vital when it comes to research or production/manufacturing, and you’ll be able to buy 20 supply units for $15,000, or fill up your bar for $75,000.

Alternatively, you can also earn supplies by completing missions, with solo missions providing 20 supplies, with bigger groups offered the potential to make an additional 20.

Doing the missions as part of a larger group can often be worthwhile, especially for the more challenging tasks.

In a standard Bunker, a full bar of supplies will last around 1 hour and 40 minutes, where a fully-upgraded Bunker will provide 2 hours and 20 minutes, which is one of many reasons that make the Bunker Upgrades worthwhile.

With a fully upgraded Bunker, you have the potential to make $90k per hour.

Although this is significantly less than crates, or Import/Export, it’s a passive income that can be earned alongside them to boost your finances.

Passive income is the best part of the Bunker, that while you’re out earning active income through jobs, the Bunker employees are still hard at work to bring in even more cash.

As any businessman will tell you, generating multiple streams of income is always a winner.

If you’re running Bunker/MC businesses, you can potentially end up making $4.2M per day in profits, with as little as two hours spent on sales.

Remember that selling outside of Blaine County offers superior profits, with just $5-7,000 per unit in Blaine County, but with the potential to earn $7,500-10,000 in Los Santos.

When it comes to producing stock to sell, your Bunker is capable of creating (and storing) 100 units of stock while you’re playing GTA Online, but not if you’re playing the Story Mode of the game.

With a standard Bunker, you’ll create one unit every ten minutes, requiring 17 hours to fill your Bunker, with each unit worth $5,000 in Blaine County, and $7.5K across the border.

With a fully-upgraded Bunker, that becomes one unit every seven minutes, and a total time of 12 hours, with each stock worth $7K in Blaine County, and $10.5K outside.

Once you’ve created sufficient stock from your supplies, it’s time to sell it to the prospective buyers.

These missions work similarly to the MC Club Business sell missions, where you’ll need to deliver packages across Blaine County, or beyond if you’re looking to earn additional money.

Sounds easy enough? Right? Well, Rockstar thought so too, so they’ve provided you with just fifteen minutes to deliver all of your stock, except for one mission, which will allow thirty.

For those of you with a fully-upgraded Bunker, you’ll be able to sell your stock Solo, provided it’s under $175,000-worth of goods.

If you’ve got a standard Bunker, then the limit is $125,000-worth of goods.

If your stock is beyond these price brackets, then additional players will be required to help you shift the goods.

When opting for an easy life, you can sell within Blaine County. However, for maximum profits, you’ll want to head to Los Santos, where you’ll be capable of earning an additional 50% profit.

If you manage to deliver all of your stock in a busy GTA Online session, you can expect to earn additional bonuses, where you can eventually earn up to $2.1M in a single run, as shown in this video:

  • Insurgent Pick-Up Customs
  • Insurgent Pick-Up Customs ambushed by Merryweather
  • Phantom Wedge

How To Sell GTA Online Bunker

Unfortunately, you’re not able to sell any of your property within GTA Online without making a significant loss.

If you’re desperate to switch locations, your best option is going to be trading your Bunker for another one in a different area.

Doing so isn’t going to be an ideal investment, since you’ll lose any Upgrades you’ve made to your existing Bunker, along with any additional Customizations.

You’ll also lose all of your supplies, stock, and unfinished research.

The only positive is that you’ll receive 50% of your initial purchase price back, but it’s still a substantial price to pay.

For this reason, it echos what we said initially, that location is the most crucial consideration you need to think about when planning which GTA Online Bunker is going to be best suited for your needs.

We’ve seen so many GTA fans asking how they can sell their Bunker, so make sure that you choose wisely initially, to avoid making the costly mistake further down the line.

Although purchasing a Bunker certainly isn’t cheap, it’s undoubtedly a worthwhile investment that’ll completely transform your GTA Online experience.

There’s a vast array of additional benefits that come with the Bunker.

Once fully upgraded, it can be an impressive way to generate a passive income while you manually generate extra income within the game.

If you’re a regular player, then a Bunker is a must-have purchase, as it’ll allow you to upgrade your weaponized vehicles.

Bunkers also enable you to upgrade and enhance your current weapons and even unlock additional weaponry that you wouldn’t be able to get otherwise.

On top of that, it also offers you the chance to unlock additional benefits such as the Shooting Range, where you’ll be able to undertake missions, enable you to unlock further weapons.

Although the Bunkers vary wildly in price, we’ve mentioned several times that location is the most vital element here, and making the right choice will ensure that you don’t regret your purchase further down the line, as switching your Bunker isn’t convenient.

So, if you don’t have the money yet, it’s time to get saving, as the Bunker is undoubtedly going to be a worthwhile investment for your GTA Online experience.

Weekly Event (29th Aug 2024) - Bunker Up This Week with Bonuses and Rewards on Bunker Business Activities, the Deadline Adversary Mode, Fooligan Jobs, and More!

Spider-Vice

By Spider-Vice August 28 in GTA Online

Recommended Posts

Spider-vice.

This week and until 4th September, the military once again leads the charge in Los Santos, with Bunkers getting an activity spike - bonuses on Bunker Sell Missions, Research Missions from Agent 14, boosted Bunker Research Speeds and even a reward from Warstock Cache & Carry themselves, so you can further drive home the point that the military is taking over.

Plus, FriedMind's business becomes a bit of a Fooligan problem again, as Dax needs some help with odd jobs with bonuses on Fooligan Jobs. You can also remind your friends of how cool Tron is with bonuses on the Deadline Adversary Mode, and more.

Remember this is just a preview, and information may change. On top of that, Rockstar may reserve things for their own Newswire.

We understand that not every Event Week will be to everyone's liking, some will certainly be more exciting than others, but anyway...

Let's get started!

The Military Continues Taking Over with Bunker Business Bonuses

Over the course of last week, Fort Zancudo and the now-moved USS Luxington got activity like they hadn't seen in years! From rookie criminals attempting to steal the Hydras and Lazers from the military complex, to those trying to see a different dimension (North Yankton) by trying to hop onto the USS Luxington moored Southwest of Los Santos, things have come a long way, and an all-out assault has been conducted on both the carrier AND the military base! People across the state of San Andreas even report on LifeInvader and Bleeter that they've heard orbital cannon shots, allegedly at least, and that the usual conspiracy theorists are CERTAIN that the world is about to end, we're about to get taken over by military machines controlled by a crazy CEO, and that Cliffford might wake up once again.

That was Assault on ATT-16, and the assault will continue; but additionally this week, enterprising criminals can both return to their hiding places in their Bunkers, or actually sell all that armament for an extra. Want some modern superweapons and haven't researched them yet? Now's your chance with Agent 14 giving you an extra bonus for giving him additional documentation on such weapons (Research Missions), and things getting done faster by your local scientists. As such:

  • 2x GTA$ and RP on Bunker Sell Missions
  • 2x GTA$, RP and Research Progress on Bunker Research Missions (by calling Agent 14)
  • 2x Bunker Research Speed

More Trouble Hits the Fooliganz with Bonuses on Fooligan Jobs; Show Your Friends "The Line" in Deadline

Badonkadonk!!! The screaming and ecstasy of the Fooliganz hadn't echoed in a while, but it won't be doing so either now as Dax has some extra work for you, and for a bonus. Between trying to stop more FriedMind business from happening, and getting so high that aliens finally actually invade Los Santos, there's plenty of drug-fuelled fun (YMMV) to be had, with Dax being generous enough to give you a double bonus for your efforts.

If your thing is indeed seeing colours, and the more the merrier, there's a great place to be this week, and perhaps even bring your date to! Or friends, acquaintances, or those in a hate-love relationship, or enemies... Hop on floating platforms all across Los Santos and show them how cool Tron still is, or if you prefer, show them that colourful line you so want them to hit - with bonuses on the Deadline Adversary Mode.

  • 2x GTA$ and RP on Fooligan Jobs
  • 2x GTA$ and RP on the Deadline Adversary Mode

This week and until 4th September, if you don't yet have a Bunker - well, you're either a survivalist living on the edge or you don't like money! Check out sales on Bunkers, some supercars to help you in your on-road escapades, off-road vehicles for the moments you have to hit the grass, and more!

At the Gun Van, it's survival of the fittest with a boom-boom launcher (as they definitely totally call it), plus a vintage tried and tested handgun for those in Los Santos' VIP club.

GTA+ Gun Van discount is noted in a Rockstar-like colour .

  • Bunker Properties, Upgrades and Modifications

Miscellaneous

Salvage Yard Vehicles & Robberies

Each week, Jamal and Yusuf Amir find some brand-new vehicles for you to source for your Chop Shop, and for Jamal to perhaps plaster all over Snapmatic and other social media. This week, check out the following propositions

The McTony Robbery: Obey 10F

The Gangbanger Robbery: Fathom FR36

The Cargo Ship Robbery: Canis Seminole Frontier

The Diamond Casino & Resort Lucky Wheel

What's the best place to hide when some sort of military incursion is happening outside and all you can think about is that your family and house might have been destroyed, and that you'll probably get drafted for *something* soon anyway? Well, maybe a bunker, but also, a casino. Because why not blow all of your savings on the high roller games, you're gonna die anyway right? Right? Yeah, sure.

Despite everything, our dear valet Felipe is still at everyone's service - between continuously having to get face implants (please donate) and having panic attacks about podium robberies, at least this week he doesn't have to worry about the latter...

If you do decide to go into the Diamond Casino & Resort this week in the midst of all of your armament adventures, and need something quick and capable for the job, all you have to do is invoke Luck, perform your usual rituals, perhaps act on a recent Tarot reading that says you're getting good fortune, and head on over to the Lucky Wheel, spin it, and have a chance at winning the  Declasse Draugur  offroader.

LS Car Meet Prize Ride

Another week, and no changes for anyone inside the LS Car Meet. Doing races under gun and even perhaps missile fire is a tuner's delight in Los Santos at this point, and those who don't wanna do it might as well stay at the Car Meet. The warehouse down in Cypress Flats might as well be near-indestructible, after all everyone's got what they need, and even what *some* don't need. That goes for the like two people, allegedly, who were weirded out by this week's two-wheel choice for the Slamtruck, one that defies the laws of physics by transferring the KERS boost from Formula One  Open Wheel cars to a motorcycle, and being quite fast (and deadly) for it.

This week,  place Top 2 in the LS Car Meet Series for 2 days in a row to win the Principe Lectro motorcycle.

For testing and/or buying this week:

  • Vysser Neo  (R)
  • Invetero Coquette BlackFin  (R)
  • Dewbauchee Rapid GT  (R)

After last week Hao also had his hands on a motorcycle, this week, things get much faster and firmer, that is, on 4 wheels! Don't let the lack of a noise trick you on this one, because this electric will get you away from a stray missile in half a second, and Hao couldn't be happier to work on it as one of his first projects since March 2022. On Xbox Series and PlayStation 5, head on over to Hao's desk and test, upgrade or buy the  Coil Cyclone II HSW .

Premium Deluxe Motorsports

  • Lampadati Tigon (also 40% off)  (R)

If I cared about money I'd complain about just finishing a bunker sell. I will complain about the Weekly Challenge. Doing Bunker Research missions is pointless for anyone who have unlocked all of the research items. Hopefully the Warstock Tee is a repeat that I already own so I don't have to do it this week.

can you still do bunker research missions even when you have unlocked all research? It will make the cost of that tee quite high ! Hope I've already unlocked it.

You can, you won't get any research obviously, but you'll get a cash reward.

GTA Hurricane

Some good money to be made on bunker sales, that'll help me on my goal of becoming a billionaire before GTA 6 releases. None of the other bonuses appeal to me though, not even $100K is enough to get me to do any more Fooligan missions.

A mediocre week overall, but still way better than the sh*tshow we had last week.

Great, I been stacking my bunker all week. Only thing is I would wait to see what I get from the stash house before resupplying with my own cash. If I have supplies I would wait until it's finished before hitting another stash house. Also, I used to just do one resupply to get one vehicle. But I recently learned it's better to fill up the bunker even if doing it solo. When it's over a million, I start a sale mission and only do the 2 phantom wedge trucks willing to lose some money switching sessions if I get other vehicle types. It's not like we lose that much from leaving the session compared to how much we end up making in the end. Last week I lucked up and got the 2 Phantoms on one session switch. Looking forward to this on double money.

There is also some turkey onesies, looking like Thanksgiving type content. But could be halloween. Idk, nowadays i try to be surprised at what comes out, but bcus of a glitch, all the female characters had access to these outfits from the beginning of Bottom Dollar Bounty.

You shut down only the production and / or the research progress via supplies.

you still can use everthing there include the MOC and the trailer.

GTA Online Gunrunning Guide

The gunrunning business allows you to manufacture and sell weapons for passive profits of up to $78k per hour..

how to get research in gta 5 bunker

Gunrunning is a passive business in GTA Online that allows you to manufacture and sell weapons from an underground bunker. While it can provide a steady income stream, it shouldn’t be your primary money-making method. Expect to make between $39K-$78K per hour from Gunrunning, assuming you steal supplies. For maximum profits, continue running crates or vehicle import/export missions alongside your Gunrunning business.

Gunrunning Is A Passive Business

Gunrunning has added a bevy of ways to spend your hard earned GTA$, as well as a new mechanic to earn some more, and the first thing to understand is that a Gunrunning business isn’t something you should be pursuing exclusively. It shouldn’t be your primary source of in-game cash and isn’t a replacement for money making activities like running crates or vehicle import/export .

The most you can expect to make from Gunrunning is between $GTA 39K to $GTA 78K per hour (including expenses). That is assuming that all supplies are stolen instead of paid for too. You can see a comparison between money making methods here .

how to get research in gta 5 bunker

If you feel you’re short of time, switching your Bikers business for Gunrunning is a good choice though. In essence, Gunrunning’s gameplay mechanic is most similar to the Bikers businesses, but operates with larger numbers, both in terms of investment and returns. That said, don’t expect to get a lot of profit from this business early on, since the best thing to do is immediately spend Gunrunning profits on fast-tracking research.

Buy A Bunker

Before you even get into GTA Online’s Gunrunning business, you’ll need a bunker. And to be able to buy a bunker, you’ll need to be either a VIP , CEO or Biker Club President . Being a VIP requires you to have at least GTA$ 1 million.

Back to the bunkers though… much like in the case of warehouses, they are expensive investments, so you’ll want the best value for your cash… which isn’t always the most expensive option.

Your bunker will be your base of operations for all Gunrunning related activities and it’s from here you’ll launch on your Gunrunning missions. There is a garage bay for your Mobile Operations Center (MOC), an HQ section, a weapon workshop and areas for research and production. When buying you’ll have the chance to upgrade your bunker with accommodations, a shooting range and a gun locker, as well as choose from a few different styles of interior style.

how to get research in gta 5 bunker

Depending on what your preferences are, three bunkers jump out as the best choices: Raton Canyon, Chumash and Route 68.

Raton Canyon

At GTA$ 1.45M Raton Canyon is the second cheapest bunker out of the 11 available, but offers security and seclusion. It’s surrounded by mountains meaning you’ll be protected when lifting off with aerial vehicles, your MOC spawns right outside, it isn’t too far away from resupply missions and while it has access to a highway, a dirt road sits in between meaning it’s far away from any potential griefers. It’s also one of the less popular choices, meaning you’ll be left on your own a fair amount of the time.

Chumash (GTA$ 1.65M) loses out on the privacy and safety features, as it’s both exposed and popular. However, the close proximity to the city makes it a good choice for people who need to hop between their businesses and other activities often. Do expect to bump into more rowdy folks around here though.

Fewer players swear by this one as the other choices, however Route 68 (1.95m GTA$) has its advantages. Its location puts it closer to where the action is than either Chumash or Raton Canyon, however the downside of that is that you’ll be harried by other players far more often. The Sandy Shores area has four bunkers close to one another, turning it into a hot zone for PvP. You’re more than likely to get griefed every time you exit your bunker here.

how to get research in gta 5 bunker

Bonus Tip: Avoid the Farmhouse

If you have the cash saved up, it might be easy to fall into the knee-jerk reaction of immediately buying the most expensive bunker, at the Farmhouse. Don’t. Not only will you be paying significantly more – GTA$ 2,375,000 to be exact – for practically no advantages, you’ll also be crowded by aggressive players all the time. If Sandy Shores is a PvP hot zone, then the proximity of the Farmhouse bunker is an actual battlefield.

Bunker Upgrades

When buying a bunker, you’ll have the chance to add some bonuses and upgrades much like in the case of the Executive Offices.

You can select from three dĂ©cor options, the default of which doesn’t cost extra. The other two variants cost GTA$ 215,000 and GTA$ 290,000 respectively. In terms of functionality, you can add personal accommodations for GTA$ 265,000, a shooting range in two color variants (black: GTA$ 740,000, white: GTA$ 845,000), a gun locker for GTA$ 175,000 and caddies for either GTA$ 80,000 or GTA$ 120,000.

Performance

Further upgrades are available once you’ve actually bought the bunker, and these are reminiscent of the upgrades you can buy for the warehouses of other businesses, as they increase production efficiency and sell price among others.

The staff upgrade, which costs GTA$ 598,500 and the equipment upgrade which costs a hefty GTA$ 1,155,000, both contribute to this efficiency. In numbers, without upgrades, one unit of supplies is used up in 60 seconds. With both upgrades, that time is extended to 84 seconds. If you have a full bar of supplies and full upgrades, it will deplete in 140 minutes. This means that you’ll need significantly less supplies to produce the same amount of product, which will also be sold at a higher price, giving you a bigger profit margin. The Security Upgrade is also key, and costs GTA$ 351,000.

We absolutely recommend that you buy these upgrades, as the combined cost of GTA$ 2,104,500 will almost break even after a single full product unit run and return profit on the second.

Manufacturing

Research versus production.

Once you’ve got your bunker and done your first setup mission to get some supplies (setup missions are free and can be started from the Disruption Logistics terminal in your bunker), there are two things to get your employees working on: research and production. Research will unlock new kinds of upgrades that are not available through other means, while production is exactly what it sounds like – actually producing your guns to sell.

You can immediately jump into production, or try to get both balls rolling. However our suggestion is to focus fully on research first before repurposing yourself for production. This guide will assume you take that path.

Research Projects

So, now that you’ve bought your bunker/massive underground supervillain lair, the next step is to start researching the new weapons upgrades the game has to offer. Research projects in Gunrunning give you access to the unlockable new upgrades added in this DLC, including new loadouts for weaponized vehicles, customization options for your Mobile Operations Center and attachments for the revamped gun upgrade system.

how to get research in gta 5 bunker

Based on how much you’ve upgraded your bunker, researching upgrades will take around 4 to 6 hours each, real time. Now, since there are 45 research projects, and they’re set up in branches (meaning not all are immediately available but have prerequisite research projects that need to be unlocked first), chances are you’ll want to make use of the fast-tracking feature, but note its 3-minute cooldown. It will set you back GTA$ 225,000 to speed up an individual research project.

If you’ve fully upgraded both your staff and equipment, 100 units of arms that you’ve manufactured can be sold for over a million outside of Blaine County, GTA$ $1,050,000 to be precise. Provided you buy all of your supplies for those 100 units for GTA$ 375,000, instead of doing supply missions, you’ll profit GTA$ 675,000 which can be spent on 3 research fast-tracks. Keep in mind that the production of 100 units takes the same time required for 2 or 3 (depending on how much you’ve upgraded your bunker) non-fast-tracked research projects, meaning this way you “win” one project at the expense of Gunrunning profits.

how to get research in gta 5 bunker

Provided you have enough excess kicking around from Export missions, you can blow through all research relatively quickly and start making actual profits. In total, fast-tracking all projects will set you back a little over GTA$ 10 million. If you’ve saved up prior to Gunrunning like you should have , this might not be too big an investment.

Supply Choices: Steal Or Buy

When supplying your business, you have two options: stealing supplies and buying them. Resupply missions are randomized ways to acquire supplies without having to buy them, however these take up a lot of time and are usually designed around you having a team. You can buy supplies for convenience, however this will reduce your profit margin.

We suggest buying supplies in the long run. You might want to steal them the first few times to work up enough income to get the research projects off your to-do list and to experience the missions themselves since, you know, this is still a game that you play for fun. You’ll pick up 20 units of supplies per supply missions that you run, and if you have an Associate helping, there is a random chance you’ll get multiple 20 unit bundles of supplies.

Don't miss out! Master GTA Online with our massive guide collection !

However, once the business is chugging along nicely, buying supplies is actually more profitable in the grand scheme of things, since that way you can spend the time you’d otherwise spend on resupply missions doing Export missions, for example, which yield more cash.

Your supply bar is equal to 100 units and to buy the supplies it is $GTA 15K per 20 units. So you’ll need to spend GTA$ 75K to get a full bar of supplies ready for manufacturing.

Using Supplies & Producing Stock

Note that research, supply usage and producing stock to sell are all based are time, not around units. So 100 units in does not really mean 100 units out… You need to use the timings in this guide to estimate how much supplies you’ll need to get the amount of stock you want to sell. Also note that when you are doing a Gunrunning mission (either a supply or sell mission) then the whole process is put on pause. So factor that into all your calculations.

Using Supplies

If you’ve completed all the research projects as we’ve suggested then you’ll be free to focus 100% of your staff on production. You’ll use up supplies during manufacturing at the following rates depending on whether you’ve upgraded your bunker or not (see performance under Bunker Upgrades above):

  • No upgrades: 1 unit / 60 seconds
  • Partial upgrades: 1 unit / approximate 72 seconds
  • Full upgrades: 1 unit / 84 seconds

This means that you’ll need to resupply every 1 hour 40 mins with no upgrades (100 minutes) or every 2 hours 20 minutes (140 minutes) with full upgrades.

Producing Stock

In terms of actually producing stock to sell, you bunker can hold 100 units of stock which will be created over time (while you are in GTA Online only, ie NOT if you are playing story mode) at the following rates:

  • Non-upgraded Bunker: 1 unit every 10 minutes. Each stock unit is worth GTA$ 5K in Blaine County and 7.5K outside Blaine County (without upgrades). Just under 17 hours for a full bunker.
  • Partially upgraded Bunker: 1 unit every 8.5 minutes. Each stock unit is roughly worth GTA$ 6K in Blaine County and 8.5K elsewhere.
  • Fully upgraded Bunker:1 unit every 7 minutes. Each stock unit is worth GTA$ 7K in Blaine County and 10.5K beyond. Just under 12 hours for a full bunker.

Selling Your Product

The basic rundown of the Gunrunning business is identical to those in Bikers. You buy or steal supplies, let your business use the supplies to create units of product over time, then sell the units. Selling missions involve a number of delivery cars, a drop-off point and a whole lot of Merryweather mercs in between the two. To facilitate selling, joining SecuroServe and the Open Road is the Disruption Logistics Network, the new in-game system used to access Gunrunning missions.

Starting on research first and only then focusing on actually earning a profit (as we suggest above) is a good idea due to the fact that research uses the same supply pool as production, and also requires the attention of your employees. Naturally, if 100% of your supplies and employees focus is on production and nothing is spent on research, you’ll be selling more product in less time.

how to get research in gta 5 bunker

Maximum Units & Maximum Profits

The maximum unit capacity of the bunker is 100. When selling, delivery vehicles are able to handle 25 units each, meaning 1-25 units will require one vehicle, 26-50 will require two, 51-76 need three and 76-100 need four.

While technically it would be viable to deliver one vehicle, go back, deliver another, and repeat until you’ve delivered all four, there are usually timers on sell mission which would make this impossible solo. Also, enemy NPCs have trackers targeting the delivery vehicles (not you or other player characters) so while you’re delivering one car the others will likely be destroyed, leaving you with a massive net loss.

There is no advantage to delivering more units at once, so if you’re playing solo, we suggest sticking to lots of 25, but we’ll discuss solo play more extensively later on.

Selling units of product will net different amounts of profit based on where you’re selling, check out the table below for specifics. Out in Blaine County, you’ll be selling for GTA$ 5,000 per unit with no upgrades and GTA$ 7,000 per unit with full upgrades, whereas in Los Santos those numbers grow to GTA$ 7,500 and GTA$ 10,500, respectively.

Blaine County Sale Prices

Units sold Price (no upgrades) Price (all upgrades)
25 $125,000 $175,000
50 $250,000 $350,000
75 $375,000 $525,000
100 $500,000 $700,000

Los Santos Sale Prices

Units sold Price (no upgrades) Price (all upgrades)
25 $187,500 $262,000
50 $375,000 $524,000
75 $562,500 $786,000
100 $750,000 $1,048,000

Do You Need A Group For Gunrunning?

If you’re asking the question whether Gunrunning is viable solo, the answer is yes, but you’ll need to invest more time and money.

how to get research in gta 5 bunker

While in the long run, buying supplies is the better option compared to stealing them, this might not always be viable. However, resupply missions were designed specifically with multiple players in mind. All are difficult solo, with some being outright impossible. As a solo player, you’ll be forced to buy supplies 100% of the time.

That said, there is a solo-friendly aspect here. Selling more units doesn’t give you a percentage bonus like CEO crates. This means that selling 100 units in one go or 25 units four times will net you the same amount of profit. 1-25 unit sales have only one delivery vehicle, meaning 25 is the optimal number of units to sell solo, you’ll just have to do the missions several times for the same amount of profit.

how to get research in gta 5 bunker

Weaponized Vehicles

Gunrunning added 6 new weaponized vehicles to the game, some of which are new, while others are militarized versions of existing vehicles. You can get acquainted with these vehicles without having to drop the money through the mobile operations missions, upon which we’ll expand further when touching upon the Mobile Operations Center below. Weaponized vehicles can be bought without owning a bunker beforehand, if you want, via Warstock Cache & Carry.

  • Weaponized Tampa (GTA$ 2,108,050/1,585,000 Trade price) – This version of the fan favorite muscle car adds a whole lot of armor and quite the suite of weapons to the vehicle. In the end, that armor doesn’t stack up to much, with full upgrades only offering the same protection as other regular armored vehicles plus a little extra in explosive protection from frontal attacks. But where the Weaponized Tampa shines is offense. You should definitely upgrade the turret to dual miniguns since this will actually allow it to be aimed, as opposed to the fixed single-gun variant. Frontal missiles and rear mortars can be added as well alongside a proximity mine laying feature, making this the single most heavily armed vehicle in GTA Online. You’ll need to keep in mind that it’s quite fragile, though. The Weaponized Tampa can be stored in your garage.
  • Half-Track (GTA$ 2,254,350/ 1,695,000 Trade price)  – The Half-Track is a variant of the Duneloader with the rear wheels replaced by treads and an anti-aircraft turret stuck on the rear. This vehicle is heavily armored, taking as many rounds as an Insurgent Pickup and upgrades can completely bulletproof the windows. The turret fires non-explosive ammo and the upgrade to it doesn’t change its mechanics, you’re just getting a straight upgrade of the same weapon type. However, the Half-Track is a bit of an enigma. Even though it’s billed as an anti-aircraft vehicle, since the turret position isn’t armored explosives can kill the turret operator while leaving the vehicle itself unharmed, making this somewhat ineffective agains aerial vehicles equipped with missiles. The weapon is, however, effective against enemies on foot and unarmored cars. But here you run into the issue of aiming, since the gun can’t be angled downwards. Of course, if both turret operator and driver are skilled, this can still tear up a Hydra before it gets in a good shot to kill the operator. The Half-Track can be stored in your garage.
  • Oppressor (GTA$ 3,524,500/ 2,650,000 Trade price)  – This has to be the single most fun addition to the game this DLC yielded. The Oppressor is a flying, jet-powered bike. It has no armor, but good luck to anything other than another Oppressor actually hitting you. You should definitely upgrade the machine guns to missiles, since the latter are homing and do massive damage. This thing is a fantastic Hydra deterrent, and will make short work of just about anything else – it’s absolutely worth the asking price. The Oppressor can be stored in your garage or MC Clubhouse
  • APC (GTA$ 3,092,250/ 2,325,000 Trade price) – The APC is another vehicle which, though geared against aircraft, is most effective against ground vehicles. The default tank turret does more damage out of the two configurations but has a much lower rate of fire, meaning the SAM turret is the better damage dealer overall. That said, the APC isn’t too well armored even with upgrades, meaning that aircraft missiles will likely kill it before it kills the attacking aircraft. Not to mention that the SAM turret can’t aim steeply upwards. Proximity mines are available for this vehicle as well. The APC can be stored in your garage.

how to get research in gta 5 bunker

  • AA Trailer (GTA$ 1,862,000/ 1,400,000 Trade price) – This is the only vehicle actually useful against aerial targets. The flak cannon turret is the best choice, as it fires 2-round bursts which is already enough to take out pretty much everything in the game. That said, it is vulnerable against explosives so you need to make sure you get those shots in first. Also very effective against ground targets. The AA trailer must be stored in your bunker and comes with a free Vapid Sadler which you can use to tow it.
  • Dune FAV (GTA$ 1,130,500/ 850,000 Trade price)  – The Dune FAV’s price is pretty good indication of how useful it is compared to the other vehicles. Armor may as well be cosmetic, and the minigun is more or less the only useful weapon choice with this vehicle. It’s only useful against unarmored targets. The Dune FAV can be stored in your garage.

how to get research in gta 5 bunker

Mobile Operations Center

The Mobile Operations Center is Gunrunning’s way of one-upping itself in terms of comical supervillain characteristics. If the bunker wasn’t enough, you can also own a massive armored truck with a small HQ in the trailer.

You’ll need to own a bunker before buying a MOC from Warstock Cache & Carry and depending on which modules you choose, the price will fluctuate between GTA$ 1,225,000 and GTA$ 2,790,000. The MOC is essential for launching Mobile Operations missions, and is a great way to ensure safety when out and about in the game world.

Right after making money, your second concern should be saving money. One thing that is easy to forget is that the weaponized vehicles can be bought at a discount if you complete their Mobile Operations mission from your MOC. While at first glance the discounts aren’t massive, if you plan on buying multiple ones, they add up – plus, you know, the missions are fun!

how to get research in gta 5 bunker

Speaking of the Mobile Operations Center, there are a number of modules available with only a limited number of slots. You’ll blow through a lot of cash if you’ll buy each just to try them out and put together a configuration you like. There exists an optimal config for the MOC which you can just hit from the get go without wasting cash on the other components.

It goes like this: There are three slots in the MOC and a total of five modules. The personal quarters are absolutely useless, since players already have plenty of properties, plus the bunker has accommodations as well. The best combo is the Command Center paired with the Weapon & Vehicle Workshop, the latter of which takes up two slots. The Weapon Workshop exists as a one-slot standalone, however the personal vehicle storage is hardly as useful as the Vehicle Workshop.

Mobile Operations Missions

Mobile Operations missions can be launched from you MOC if you have either the HQ or the Accommodations module installed. These missions each focus on one of the weaponized vehicles added with the update, and like Special Vehicle missions, completing them will shave off a percentage from the purchase price of the relevant vehicle while also giving you a chance to try them out without having to buy them. In total, there are 8, and they unlock sequentially based on how many times you’ve resupplied your bunker.

Severe Weather Patterns: Dune FAV (2 resupplies)

Intercept and take down Merryweather air supply lines in Blaine County. Weaponized Dune buggies will be issued to the team and should be returned upon completion.

Severe Weather Patterns has your group use two Dune FAVs to take out a series of Merryweather cargo aircraft. Your first target is a lone cargobob at Sandy Shores, followed by another escorted by a Buzzard near Harmony. Things start escalating with a Titan escorted by a Mesa taking off from the Sandy Shores airfield, after which you’ll go after another Titan escorted by Froggers heading towards Sandy Shores. Finally, there will be a last helicopter flying over the highway, but this time Merryweather will try intercepting you with Mesas. To finish the mission, you’ll need to return the Dune FAVs to the drop-off point.

how to get research in gta 5 bunker

Half-Track Bully: Half-Track (4 Resupplies)

Infiltrate enemy agent base of ops and limit their power by securing a Weaponized Half-track from their fleet. Vehicle to be returned to friendlies.

This mission begins with the team getting into a Dinghy and going to the retrieval point. In a military complex, there is Half-Track stored among enemy agents. One player will need to reach the vehicle and begin hacking with the SecuroServe app while staying in range, during which the other players will have to provide cover from the waves of enemies approaching. Once the hack is complete, you need to get into the vehicle and being driving to the drop off point. The route will take you through Los Santos , and throughout the chase you’ll be up against a total of 2 Valkyries, 5 Buzzards and 8 Fugitives.

Exit Strategy: Nightshark Anti-Aircraft Trailer (6 Resupplies)

Protect the nations’s important allies/customers as they try to depart LSIA by private plane and helicopter. Turreted Trailers will be provided for the purpose, and should be returned.

This mission has your team grab one of all three configurations of the AA Trailer with the task of protecting three VIP NPCs who will board planes. All three will be attacked both in the air and on the ground, but the aerial attackers will be your biggest worry. The VIPs will be distributed throughout the area of LSIA and will arrive sequentially so you only ever have to worry about one of them at a time. Once all three are safe, the players will have to deliver the trailers to a drop-off point at Cypress Flats.

Offshore Assets: APC (8 Resupplies)

Making use of the amphibious nature of the APC, you’ll be retrieving valuable cargo from a downed ship while enemies try to take you out.

Cover Blown: MOC (10 Resupplies)

This mission has you retrieve a MOC and deliver it to a drop off point intact while large numbers of enemies pursue you armed with amped missiles.

Mole Hunt: Weaponized Tampa (12 Resupplies)

In Mole Hunt you’ll be using a weaponized Tampa to hunt down a rogue agent. The agent’s location is masked by signal jammers, which will be your first target. After taking these out, you’ll be able to pinpoint the location of your target and hunt them down before they make their escape.

Data Breach: Oppressor (14 Resupplies)

This is probably the most fun mission of the lot, so naturally it’s one of the last. Enemy agents stole confidential data using Oppressor bikes , which you need to steal and deliver back to the drop-off zone.

Work Dispute: Oppressor (Completion of Data Breach)

Your enemies have gotten themselves their own MOC. Of course, this cannot stand, so Agent 14 sends you out on some missile-equipped flying bikes to take care of the problem, as well as any ground support escorting the rogue MOC.

MK-II Weapon Customization

Gunrunning has revamped the customization and upgrade system for six weapons in the Gunrunning update. The Pistol, SMG, Combat MG, Assault Rifle, Heavy Sniper and Carbine Rifle can now be upgraded with a much wider array of attachments and cosmetic options.

The weapon upgrade costs are as follows:

  • Pistol Mark II – GTA$ 73,750
  • SMG Mark II – GTA$ 85,500
  • Assault Rifle Mark II – GTA$ 98,750
  • Carbine Rifle Mark II – GTA$ 107,500
  • Combat MG Mark II – GTA$ 119,000
  • Heavy Sniper Mark II – GTA$ 165,000

These need to be researched at your bunker, which we covered previously, and mostly include new weapon color schemes, finishes, scopes, ammo types, under-barrel attachments and suppressors. The new ammo types and scopes will be the most useful new upgrades, as the scopes include night-vision and thermal variants which will give you an edge in combat .

how to get research in gta 5 bunker

The ammo types are the true stars of this feature, however. Incendiary rounds give you an edge in on-foot PvP as your shots no longer simply deal instant damage, but will cause additional damage over time, meaning even if your enemies take cover after getting hit, they might still die after the fact. The Heavy Sniper’s explosive ammo takes the cake though, as 2 shots are enough to blow up a Hydra, and just about anything else.

Tracer rounds leave trails evoking the tint and livery of the weapon being used, helping with aiming. Hollow Point rounds and Full Metal Jacket rounds cause more damage to unarmored and armored targets, respectively. Explosive rounds are, well, rather self-explanatory.

Other Profit Maximising Tips

Based on this, you’ve all you need to maximize your profits from the Gunrunning business. However here’s some additional tips that we’ll add to as they are discovered…

Faggio Boost

Since the Oppressor, the jet-powered bike, is registered as a bike by the game and not as a vehicle of a separate class, the MC formation function works, and others riding in your formation will match speed even when rocket-boosting. Grab a few mates, hop on your Oppressor, have them mount Faggios and proceed to make the day of everyone else in your lobby.

GTA Online Bunker: How Long Does Research Take?

How long does Bunker research take in GTA Online?

how to get research in gta 5 bunker

Published: Apr 29, 2021, 1:57 pm Updated: May 25, 2023, 12:09 pm

GTA Online is a game that makes players rely on money and though that would make it easy to target younger gamers who buy microtransactions, there are plenty of activities you can partake in to make some of that good GTA$.

Businesses are one of the main ways to make a good amount of money in GTA Online, all of which are tailored to suit your criminal fantasies, so it doesn’t matter if you fancy yourself a drug lord or a simple document forger, there’s something for everyone.

Read More: GTA 5 Bunker Max Profit

One of the more interesting businesses in GTA Online is having a bunker, where research is done to make more weapons for the military, though the pay is just decent.

It takes 100 research points to develop new technology, which is tricky since the research bar fills up at 60, and just gaining 1 research point can take 5 minutes, so filling the entire bar can take 8.5 hours.

However, that’s only if you don’t upgrade your Bunker in GTA Online, and if players decide to pay up for those upgrades, 1 research point will only take 3.5 minutes, meaning the research bar will get full in 3.5 hours.

Another method to speed things up is to use the Fast Tracking option, which prioritizes a piece of research and simply has players paying up $225,000 while not using any research points.

You can’t exploit this thought, since the Fast Track option has to reload every couple of minutes.

GTA Online, which you can get by purchasing GTA 5, is now available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

How does GTA Online Bunker research work?

One of the main draws for owning a Bunker in GTA Online is the ability to perform research and acquire new items. This feature was introduced back in the Gunrunning update and is still relevant to new players, particularly due to these upgrades being only available through it.

There aren't any workarounds to getting items like Explosive Rounds, so one should buy a Bunker as soon as they can. Any Bunker will suffice. Here are their current options:

  • Paleto Forest: $1,165,000
  • Raton Canyon: $1,450,000
  • Lago Zancudo: $1,550,000
  • Chumash: $1,650,000
  • Grapeseed: $1,750,000
  • Route 68: $1,950,000
  • Grand Senora Desert: $2,120,000
  • Smoke Tree Road: $2,205,000
  • Thomson Scrapyard: $2,290,000
  • Farmhouse: $2,375,000

GTA Online players should enter their Bunker and use the computer to buy the Staff Upgrade. Doing so will make the research finish faster, which will be useful for players who don't have the money to speed up every research project. They should also make sure to go "Manage Staff" and select "Assign Staff To Research."

If the player is okay with waiting several real-life hours, they can obtain supplies either by buying them or through Disruption Logistics. Alternatively, they can spend GTA$ to fast-track any ongoing projects. This method will work, even if the player lacks supplies.

Any item the player gets from the research project is randomized. Hence, some GTA Online players might have to wait longer or spend more money to get the items they want. Fast-tracking prices vary based on current progress:

  • 0~20%: $225,000
  • 21~40%: $180,000
  • 41~60%: $135,000
  • 61~80: $90,000
  • 81%+: $45,000

As there are 51 projects, that would mean players could spend $11,475,000 to fast-track every item.

This list contains every Mk II weapon upgrade that a player would want from this feature:

  • Armor Piercing Rounds
  • Assault Rifle Mk II Heavy Barrel
  • Assault Rifle Mk II Holographic Sight
  • Carbine Rifle Mk II Heavy Barrel
  • Combat MG Mk II Heavy Barrel
  • Combat MG Mk II Holographic Sight
  • Explosive Rounds
  • Full Metal Jacket Rounds

  • Heavy Sniper Mk II Thermal Scope
  • Hollow Point Rounds
  • Incendiary Rounds
  • Pistol Mk II Compensator
  • Pistol Mk II Mounted Scope

GTA Online players can also receive several liveries and vehicle-related upgrades through this feature.

First, to get into this business, you need to buy yourself a Bunker first. But not anybody with money can buy the Bonker. You have to be either a VIP, CEO, or Biker Club President in order to buy a Bunker.

The Bunker will be your base for all your Gunrunning missions and activities. Your Bunker has an HQ section, a weapon workshop, a garage bay for Mobile Operations Center (MOC), and areas for manufacturing and researching.

You can also add a shooting range, a gun locker, and choose the style for your own Bunker. The three best options for Bunker are Chumash, Route 68, Canyon.

Raton Canyon

Raton Canyon is one of the cheapest Bunker in GTA ($1.45M) out of the 11 options. Still, it is one of the best options because it is located in a location surrounded by mountains so you will safe when taking off with your aerial vehicles.

 Gta 5 Bunker

It is quite close to resupply missions and far away from potential dangers.

While Chumash ($1.65M) is more expensive than Raton Canyon, have less protection, and is a more popular choice, it is close to the city. It would be very convenient for people who do many other businesses and activities in the city.

 Gta 5 Bunker Research

Not many players like the Route 68 Bunker but it does have its charm. It is a place for players who want some actions because the Sandy Shores area has several Bunkers close to each other. You will likely get attacked by other players when you get out of your Bunker.

In the Bunker, you can assign staff to do research on new projects such as armor and weapons. There is a total of 51 projects and you can only do 1 project at a time. The GTA  5 Bunker research time for 1 project is from 4 hours to 6 hours.  That is a total of about 200 hours to unlock all of them. Also, you can't control which project to research because it will be randomized.

The research bar has 60 points and the points will increase by 1 every 5 minutes. That makes 8.5 hours for the bar to be filled to 100 points.

If your Bunker is fully upgraded, it will only need 3.5 minutes to generate 1 point so it only takes 3.5 house to fill the entire bar.

Use 1 research points every 2.5 minutes Use 1 research points every 3.5 minutes
Need 4 hours 10 minutes to use all supplies Need 5 hours 50 minutes to use all supplies

You can also finish your research immediately by using Fast Tracking and pay a certain amount of money. In order to research a technology without research points, you need to spend $225,000.

Apart from researching, you can also manufacture weapons, using your supplies, to sell later. This procedure is also affected by how well-developed is your bunker.

Generate $30,000 per hour Generate $60,000 per hour
Need to resupply every 1.5 hours Need to resupply every 2.5 hours
Need 16.5 hours to create the maximum amount of weapons Need 16.5 hours to create the maximum amount of weapons
Need $5,000 ($7,500 outside of Blaine County)  to create 1 weapon Need $7,000 ($10,500 outside of Blaine County)  to create 1 weapon
Price for selling maximum amount of goods: $550 - $750,000 (depends on location) Price for selling maximum amount of goods: $700 - $750,000 (depends on location)

A Supply bar has 100 units. You can buy 20 supply units at a price of $15,000. You can pay $75,000 to completely fill the bar.

You can also get supply units by stealing supply units in missions and get a chance to receive 20 supply units instead of 20.

 Gta 5 Bunker misson

These missions are often simple such as getting to a place in a certain amount of time, losing the police,... There some hard missions such as assault Humane Lab or steal a tank.

An upgraded Bunker will use supply more efficiently so you don't have to refill it constantly and do other stuff.

GTA Online: Best Bunker to Buy and How to Get Rich from Gunrunning

The secret to a successful underground weapons trading facility

get2sammyb

  • by Sammy Barker Sat 17th Jun 2023

What's the best Bunker to buy and how do you get rich from Gunrunning in GTA Online ? Bunkers form the foundation of the Gunrunning business in Rockstar's online sandbox, allowing you steal firearms and redistribute them to the highest bidder. You can also use the Bunker to store vehicles, like the Mobile Operations Center . As part of our GTA Online guide , we're going to introduce the best Bunker to buy and how to get rich from Gunrunning .

GTA Online: Best Bunker to Buy

GTA Online: Best Bunker to Buy and How to Make Money with Gunrunning Guide 3

Before you discover how to get rich from Gunrunning in GTA Online , you're going to need to learn which is the best Bunker to buy . You can purchase a Bunker from Maze Bank Foreclosures , using the Internet app on your phone. There are 11 Bunkers you can buy. They are:

In terms of location, you should buy a Bunker that's close to Los Santos , as that's where you'll want to sell your weapons for the best profit. We'd recommend the Chumash Bunker as the best Bunker to buy . In terms of Renovations , you can consider purchasing Personal Quarters if you want to spawn at this location, but we'd recommend against the other options unless you're feeling flush. You can find out How to Make Money Fast through here.

GTA Online: How to Get Rich from Gunrunning from Bunkers

GTA Online: Best Bunker to Buy and How to Make Money with Gunrunning Guide 4

Once you've bought a Bunker , you'll need to watch a short cutscene and complete a setup missions. From there, you'll gain access to your computer inside the Bunker , which allows you to access the Disruption Logistics app. You'll be using this app to manage your business and to get rich from Gunrunning . You'll need to be a Motorcycle Club President or CEO to use the app, and you can find out How to Become an Motorcycle Club President and How to Become a CEO through the links.

GTA Online: Best Bunker to Buy and How to Make Money with Gunrunning Guide 5

There are three key statistics you need to be aware of when running your Gunrunning business. They are as follows:

GTA Online: Best Bunker to Buy and How to Make Money with Gunrunning Guide 6

While you can use Research to unlock Weapon Modifications and Vehicle Modifications in GTA Online , this isn't the most effective means to make money. As such, we recommend you login to the Disruption Logistics app and select Manage Staff and Assign Staff to Manufacturing . By doing this you will never make progress with your Research meter, but it means that your staff will be focused solely on creating Stock , which you can then sell for a profit.

GTA Online: Best Bunker to Buy and How to Make Money with Gunrunning Guide 7

You can also Buy Upgrades for your Gunrunning enterprise from the Disruption Logistics app. There are three upgrades available, and just like with the Best MC Businesses they are as follows:

In order to significantly increase the profit potential of your Gunrunning operations within the Bunker , it's recommended that you invest in the Equipment Upgrade and Staff Upgrade .

Should You Buy or Steal Supplies for Gunrunning from Bunkers?

GTA Online: Best Bunker to Buy and How to Make Money with Gunrunning Guide 8

If you choose to Buy Supplies for your Gunrunning enterprise in GTA Online , then you may need to spend up to GTA$75,000 for a full load of Supplies . It's cheaper to Steal Supplies , but this takes more time, as it'll trigger a mission that you'll need to complete, and you may have to complete multiple missions in order to max out your Supplies Level .

However, if you don't have the Equipment Upgrade and Staff Upgrade , then you should always Steal Supplies . This is because you'll lose money if you Buy Supplies upfront without both of the upgrades. Also, you should wait until your Stock Level is at about 20 per cent before selling. If it goes beyond that, then you'll need to hire some Associates to help you, as you'll need to make multiple deliveries and may not have enough time.

GTA Online: Best Bunker to Buy and How to Make Money with Gunrunning Guide 2

In terms of where to sell, Los Santos will guarantee the highest profit compared to Blaine County , so it's recommended you always sell there if you want to make money with Gunrunning . Remember, that when you're delivering your weapons, there's a chance you may be attacked by other players. However, you will get a one per cent delivery bonus for each person in your Public Lobby , which can significantly increase the profit you make on a large shipment.

What do you think is the best Bunker to buy and do you have any tips and tricks for how to get rich from Gunrunning in GTA Online ? Share the secrets of your criminal empire in the comments section, and be sure to check out our GTA Online guide for more information.

Very nice. well made too. For some reason, I get stars when entering using an MP character. Also, the game crashes when get near downtown Los Santos near the FIB building. This happens with a few other MLO's I've tried to install so it's probably got something to do with 'MP Maps' or 'Open Interiors'. I'll try turning some stuff off and see if that clears it up.

It looked like the xmen cerebro lab at first glance lmao
