Speech On Quaid e Azam In English On 25 December

Whenever does anyone ask in the world that who is the founder of Pakistan? The name of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah Inevitably comes on the tongue. He did a great job to achieve his ambition for his nation which is able to write in golden words and here I am going to elaborate a short speech on Quaid e Azam in English on 25 December or we can say it is the anniversary of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He was an influential personality and a committed as well as an honest person and was very much stubborn in a sense that when he decides to do something no matter how difficult the task is and no matter what difficulties will hinder in the way he will just continue his struggle and will strive hard for the success and achievement of his goals. It was 25th December 1876 when this great personality of Pakistan was born at Vazeer Mansion in Karachi. Jinnah was very keen and serious to his work so from the start he had the urgency of learning and acquiring knowledge and that was the reason that he went to London for his higher education and practiced law there and returned back to Bombay as the lawyer. Muslims at that time needed a lawyer in their favor because they were being ruled out by the cruel and thrashing behavior of the British and the Hindus both.

Speech On Quaid e Azam In English On 25 December

In the early ages Mohammad Ali Jinnah was a huge ambassador of the two-nation theory that determines that there are two different people living in Sub-continent and both should be treated fairly as they both have the equal rights but due to the unfair treatment of Hindus soon Mr. Jinnah realized that it was of no use and he laid the foundation of the first ever Muslim political party when he formed the All India Muslim League in 1919.

It was his great efforts hat brought all the Muslims of the sub-continent under one shingle leader and under one solidarity ideology which was leading towards the independence. Jinnah realized that Muslims are one nation which should have a separate homeland because they have their own values, cultures and religious obligations so for that respective purpose he started striving and convincing people to move on the road to freedom and son or later he was successful in gathering an enormous army walking on his footprints.

“No Nation Can Rise to The Height of Glory Unless Your women Are Side By Side With You.”

The entire world at that time was astonished and amused by this migration and was so impressed by the new leader that congratulations were being forwarded from the entire world to Jinnah for his success. For this very reason, there is a verse of poem from a patriotic national song which says that

“Azad Hain Azad Rahain Ge Ye Musalmaan Eh Quaid E Azam Tera Ahsan Hai Ahsan Yun Di Hamain Azadi K Duniya Hui Hairan Eh Quaid E Azam Tera Ahsan Hai Ahsan”

So being Muslims and also being Pakistani we should pay tribute to this mesmerizing leader one nation can ever had, the only difference between the Pakistan of today and at the time of Independence is that at that time Muslims were having a nation but no separate homeland but now we do have a separate homeland but unfortunately our nation has lost in the darkness.

After his higher education, he came back to his country, and there he started the legal practice in Bombay in 1897. He was a member of the imperial legislative council for 9 years from the tenure of 1910-1919. It was the time since when Mohammad Ali Jinnah was a follower of the two-nation theories that he wished that the Muslims and Hindus should work simultaneously without any dispute and opposition, and for this, he also joined the Congress but soon he realized that Hindus were only working for the benefit and interest of Hindus only and they do not have enough room to accept Muslims. So, he left Congress without wasting any time.

When the All India Muslim League was being formed which was being established to safeguard the rights of the Muslims it was then when Mohammad Ali Jinnah was declared as the official member of the league in 1915. He through this very platform headed several meetings on behalf of Muslims which included Round Table conferences in 1930, Lucknow’s Session in 1937, and Lahore Resolution in 1940. It means that he took a stand everywhere when the Muslims needed him. No matter how bad the condition of Muslims at that time, Jinnah convinced them very much. With Jinnah, his other friends including Allama Iqbal and some others pressurized Muslims for Freedom.

It was Mohammad Ali Jinnah, who from his tireless activities and dedication made the Muslims active and resulted in one of the world’s largest migrations in the history of mankind which resulted in the formation of Pakistan in 1947. Mohammad Ali Jinnah was declared the first Governor-General of Pakistan in 1947. Again it was Jinnah who took up the responsibility of taking the newly born state out of those destructive problems which could have very easily eliminated the state from the map of the world. The problems included the division of assets and territory as well as the rehabilitation of the migrants. For such high dedication and devotion towards the Muslims and the state of Pakistan, Mr. Jinnah was being given the honorary name of Quaid-e-Azam.

Critical Discourse Analysis of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah's (11th August, 1947) speech in the first Constituent Assembly of Pakistan

Profile image of muneeb ali

2015, South Asian Studies

AbstractThe objective of the current investigation is to analyze Quaid-e-Azam's speech in the First Constituent Assembly of Pakistan through Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). It attempts to ascertain the hidden ideological meanings of his words for the newly born state namely Pakistan. Qualitative methodology has been used for the current study. Although there are different models for CDA as those given by Van Dijk, Wodak and Fairclough yet for the present study the model of Fairclough has been used. The data was analyzed qualitatively by using content analysis approach. The results drawn from the current study reveal that Jinnah wanted to make Pakistan a liberal, democratic, just and impartial state. It also seems that he was fully aware of the social problems like law and order situation, corruption, bribery, black-marketing, nepotism and jobbery, so he persuaded the members of Constituent Assembly of Pakistan vividly to initiate a war against these evils. The study has its t...

This study aims toanalyticallyinvestigate the core ideological aspects of Liaqat Ali Khan's(the 1 st prime minister of Pakistan) speechwhich he delivered when he visited The United States of America(hereafter America) and addressed the American senate in 1950.This speech holds special significance as it was on the occasion of the 1 st state visit of any Pakistani prime minister toAmerica.Thisexploration presumes that discourse is a product which is linked with society and societal practices. In this study, qualitative research methodology has been chosen and content analysis approach was adopted for analyzing the text of the speech.Though, there are different approaches to critical discourse analysis but the current study explores the analysis of discourse content i.e. how the linguistic components can add to circulate the ideologies in speeches. This approach is known as social and cognitive approach (socio-cognitive)and was presented by Van Dijk. The outcomes of the study conveyed the fact that Liaqat Ali khanwanted to present the aims and ideology of Pakistan infront of the world. Though he was fully aware of the challenges, issues and problems of Pakistan, yet his speech reflected the bold mindset, strong philosophy and objectives of a newly born state. It is also a fact that powerful political personalities and their speeches can easily control the minds of people, hence this speech holds a central place in the discourse that shaped the language of future leaders.

This paper applies critical discourse analysis to analyze the discourse of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s (hereafter Bhutto) speech which he made in the United Nations General Assembly in 1971. The study tries to determine the connotation of the ideology of his words for a country which was affected by the chaos of Indo-Pak war in 1971. Ultimately, this pandemonium resulted in the formation of a new state called Bangladesh. For the present study, qualitative methodology using Fairclough’s model for critical discourse analysis has been employed. The outcomes of the present study revealed that Bhutto wanted to show the world that Pakistan is not a ship without a captain. He truly represented the emotion and feelings of a scrupulous nation. Bhutto tried to demonstrate himself as a real leader of the country in that particular span of time in the United Nations. In the history of Pakistani politics, there has been no Pakistani leader except him who could dare to use such oratory against and in f...

The way we perceive language is the foundation of our social construction and individual or group relationship, and studies in sociolinguistics attempt to explain this relationship between the use of language and the importance of perception. A distinct discourse, spoken or written, can stem from different sources such as power, culture or social background, ethnicity, and social status. The objective of the current study is to examine the persuasive tactics of Imran Khan's political speeches as well as the covert ideology of his party's manifesto, his political maturity; enrich linguistics possessions, and his aim for democracy in Pakistan in his first speech in the parliament. Our analysis is based on Norman Fairclough's conceptions in critical discourse analysis, claiming that "ideologies reside in the texts "that" it is not possible to 'read off' ideologies from texts" and that "texts are open to diverse interpretations" (Fairclough: 1995). The discourse analysis method from CDA is adopted to assess the selected corpus. The present study analyzes the 'ideological and persuasive components used in Imran Khan's speech to reveal Imran khan's persuasive strategies. Van Dijk, T. A. (1997) Suggests locating the discourse in the public sphere to include

This paper presents some key concepts in studying and analyzing the aspects of communication critically. It has always been crucial and a complex phenomenon for the experts in the field of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) to decode and deduce the meaning of a text through context. They examine and attribute language as a social process involving context to determine the meaning of an utterance to its producer and receiver. It has also been of great interest and enthusiasm for discourse analysts to explore and identify the underlying objective of meaning carrying an ideological message based on religious, sociopolitical, and historical assumptions. The discourse practitioners are seriously occupied with critical studies on revealing social inequality, power relations, and dominance operated through language (Wodak, 2001a). Critical studies have actively pursued such discursive practices of power dominance, the imposition of an ideology, and discrimination through text and talk. There have been important insights on sociopolitical and historical discourse serving the purpose at (macro and micro) levels of analysis (van Dijk, 1993). It suggests the use of conversation analysis, narrative analysis, rhetoric/stylistics, and media analysis. The underlying approach may be used to analyze the discourse of speeches delivered by renowned politicians, parliamentarians, and national leaders. Following van Dijk (1993) approach/model, this study aims to analyze a political speech, titled as ‘Pakistan and the Modern World’ made by the first Prime Minister of Pakistan Liaquat Ali Khan at the University of Kansas, United States of America.

Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) is considered an effective approach to exploring a text's hidden realities. The current research analyzes the speeches of the leaders of the two states on the incident of Pulwama attack on 14th February 2019 in the region of Indian occupied Kashmir to control the minds of the audience and formulate their ideologies to achieve their political benefits through power abuse. The data has been taken from the speeches delivered by both political leaders, the Premier of Pakistan Imran Khan and the Premier of India, Narendra Modi, on Pulwama Attack. Both qualitative and quantitative research approaches have been followed to investigate the texts. For Quantitative data, AntConc 3.5.8 has been utilized for the frequencies and concordance of the important words to be discussed. Observation has been utilized to gain in-depth information to describe qualitatively. The results show that some specific linguistic choices regarding some particular vocabulary, p...
