Essay On Virat Kohli - Long And Short

Kohli's love for football is no secret, and he took to social media to share a clip in manchester city jersey..

India Test skipper Virat Kohli on Sunday shared a special message for Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, heaping praise on the Premier League giants for another remarkable season. Kohli's love for football is no secret, and he took to social media to share a clip in Manchester City jersey.

Virat Kohli(Twitter/ImVKohli)

The 33-year-old batter lauded City's last season's performance where they had clinched their third title in four years under Guardiola. Under the Spaniard, the Sky Blues have won three Premier League titles and eight major trophies so far. In the ongoing PL season, the English club is at the first spot, having won 14 out of 18 matches.

"Hi, Pep, I hope you are well. Last season was smashing and you are still going strong. Loving the games and energy. Cheers, this one's for you," said Kohli before his special message for Guardiola.

Kohli then had a few words for Guardiola in Punjabi. "Pep, bohot vadiya chal reha hai kam. Tu kam khicheya hai Man city ch, rukna nahi hun, theek hai. Es vaari vi title laike jaana hai (Pep, the game is going really well. You have done wonders for Man City, don't stop now, alright. We have to take this title home again)," Kohli said.

Kohli on Saturday had his first practice session with the team as the Indian unit started their preparations for the three-Test series against South Africa, starting December 26. Kohli was also seen receiving batting tips from head coach Rahul Dravid.

Earlier this week, Kohli had cleared the air on the ODI captaincy controversy. He also quashed the rumours of him not being available for the South Africa ODIs and a possible rift with new limited-overs skipper Rohit Sharma.

"They are absolutely not credible. I am available for ODIs and I was always keen to play. As I said, these questions need to be asked to people who are writing lies," Kohli had said in the much-talked pre-departure press conference.

"I am available for selection and was available for selection. You should not be asking these questions. You should be asking these to people who are writing these and their sources. As far as I am concerned, I am always available for selection".

Dismissing rumours of his rift with Rohit, Kohli had said, "Between Rohit and I, there is no problem at all. Honestly, over the last 2, 2 and half years, I have been clarifying this."

He scored just 76 runs in five innings in the series and was later dropped from the Test squad. He was remembered as a replacement for the injured Yuvraj Singh in the Test team India's four-match series in England in July and August 2011. After the 2011 World Cup, Virat cemented his place in the team. After which Virat became the number one batsman of Test and ODI cricket by playing an innings from one to one. Virat has been awarded the Arjuna Award and the Padma Shri award. This is one such player. He has been awarded the Man of the Year three times in a row.

As Virat Kohli loses cool, here's why TV umpire was right in giving him out

It was a high full toss from Harshit Rana to Virat Kohli in the first ball of the third over, and Kohli, having stepped out of the crease, ended up getting a leading edge towards the bowler Harshit Rana himself, as he was declared caught and bowled.

As Virat Kohli loses cool, here's why TV umpire was right in giving him out

Virat Kohli was left terribly angry following his dismissal during the IPL 2024 game between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. It was a high full toss from Harshit Rana to Kohli in the first ball of the third over, and Kohli, having stepped out of the crease, ended up getting a leading edge towards the bowler Harshit Rana himself, as he was declared caught and bowled.

Kohli immediately reviewed after the on-field umpire had not raised his finger to signal a waist-high no-ball. However, TV umpire Michael Gough stuck with the original decision of OUT after Kohli seemed to be outside the crease. Even the ball tracking seemed to suggest that the ball went below Kohli’s waist, thus making him out.

However, Kohli was far from pleased with this decision and became furious with the umpires, involving in an animated discussion with them. Even Faf du Plessis joined in to Kohli’s support, but to no avail, as Kohli made his walk back to the dugout.

Kohli was thus dismissed for 18 runs from seven balls, as RCB looked to chase down a target of 223. At the time of writing this report, RCB were 74/2 in 6 overs with Will Jacks (40*) and Rajat Patidar (6*) batting in the middle.

Earlier, knocks from Phil Salt (48) and Shreyas Iyer (50) led KKR to 222/6 from 20 overs. RCB are struggling in the bottom of the table with just two points from seven matches.

Virat Kohli dismissal explained

The MCC’s Law 41.7.1 says that: " Any delivery, which passes or would have passed, without pitching, above waist height of the striker standing upright at the popping crease, is unfair. Whenever such a delivery is bowled, the umpire shall call and signal No ball".

In this case, Virat Kohli was batting outside the crease. Kohli, in fact, would have got the ball below the waist line had he been batting inside the crease.

BENGALURU, India (AP) — Royal Challengers Bengaluru rode Virat Kohli’s 51st half-century in the Indian Premier League to beat Punjab Kings by four wickets on Monday.

After scoring a quiet 21 at Chennai in a losing cause on Friday, Kohli made a much noisier 77 off 49 balls to fire Bengaluru’s chase.

Dinesh Karthik’s unbeaten 28 off 10 balls carried Bengaluru home to 178-6 with four balls to spare.

Punjab posted a sub-par 176-6. Captain Shikhar Dhawan scored 45 and Shashank Singh made 21 off eight balls late in the innings.

Kohli, coming back after more than two months out to be with his wife for the birth of his second child, used his feet well to hit his trademark punching cover drives as Punjab paid the price for letting him escape twice.

In an eventful first over bowled by Sam Curran, Jonny Bairstow couldn’t hold onto a sharp overhead catch at first slip off the second ball Kohli faced. Rahul Chahar then spilled a tough one-handed catching opportunity at short midwicket when Kohli was on 33.

Despite Kohli’s dominant innings, Punjab rallied in the middle overs through Harpreet Brar (2-13), and the required rate soared to nearly 12 an over. Brar clean-bowled Rajat Patidar (18) and Glenn Maxwell (3) and held onto a sharp catch of Kohli at deep point in the 16th over.

But Karthik and impact player Mahipal Lamor, 17 not out, smacked 48 runs off the last 18 balls for Bengaluru.

Earlier, Mohammed Siraj (2-26) and Yash Dayal (1-23) bowled well up front and kept the Punjab batters in check as Dhawan struggled to up the ante before holing out in the deep to Maxwell (2-29).

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli, a prominent figure in Indian cricket and currently a player for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, is celebrated not only for his cricketing skills but also for his commitment to fitness. Known for his significant contributions and record-breaking performances, such as those in the 2023 World Cup, Kohli's success is heavily supported by his rigorous training and strict diet.

Kohli has been very open about his dietary choices, which have changed significantly over the years, influencing many to take a leaf out of his book for a healthier lifestyle. Here's an insight into what fuels one of cricket's finest when he's off the field.

Virat Kohli’s Vegetarian Shift

Back in 2018, while touring South Africa, Kohli faced health issues that led him to become a vegetarian. He explained that his problems began with severe acidity and a rise in uric acid levels, which were pulling calcium from his bones, causing discomfort and tingling in his legs. This revelation caused him to eliminate meat from his diet entirely.

Today, Kohli's diet is rich in vegetables, quinoa, spinach, and he admits to enjoying dosas as well—but all consumed in moderation. His meals are mostly boiled or steamed, seasoned simply with pepper, salt, and a bit of lemon juice, reflecting his indifference towards elaborate flavors. Foods Virat Avoids

Kohli is strict about avoiding curries and other rich dishes; he prefers simple dal or dishes like rajma and lobiya, which are excellent protein sources for those on a vegan or vegetarian diet. Occasionally, he indulges in pan-grilled dishes with minimal oil and seasoning. Despite his restrictive diet, he occasionally reminisces about the days he enjoyed chole bhature, a popular dish from his native Punjab.

Interestingly, Kohli has made it clear he isn't fond of all vegetables, specifically mentioning his dislike for bitter gourd. Post his switch to vegetarianism, he has also cut down on dairy and other animal-based products. Recent updates reveal he's incorporating more soy-based and tofu dishes into his meals, further diversifying his plant-based diet.

Kohli's transformation and dietary discipline underscore his dedication not just to the sport but to a lifestyle that maintains his performance at peak levels. His journey from a meat-eating Punjabi lad to a health-conscious vegetarian athlete is not just about personal choice but also about adapting to what his body needs to compete at the highest levels.

Cricket is one of the most popular sports in India. The game is played all over the country and is followed passionately by fans. It is the game of nerves, skills, and strategies. The cricket fanatics not only enjoy watching the game but also playing it. Cricket players are idolized by many and considered as celebrities. Among the cricket players, Virat Kohli is my favorite cricketer.

Essay on Virat Kolhi, My Favorite Cricketer

I have been following cricket since I was a little kid and have loved the sport ever since. Out of all the cricketers in the world, my favorite has always been Virat Kohli. He is not only an amazing batsman but also a great leader.

Kohli made his debut for India in 2008 and has since then gone on to become one of the best batsmen in the world. Since then he has broken many records in ODI, T20 and test crickets. He is the only batsman to score three double centuries in ODI cricket and he also has the fastest century in ODI cricket.

Kohli has been the captain of Indian cricket team since 2013. Under his captaincy, India has won many matches and tournaments including the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 and the Asia Cup in 2016.

Kohli is not only a great batsman but also an amazing fielder. He has been awarded the ICC Fielder of the year award twice. His energy and passion on the field is unmatched. Kohli is my favorite cricketer because he is a great player and an inspiring leader. He has always given his best on the field.

Personal Qualities

Kolhi is the man of matchless qualities. He is unarguably the best batsman in the world right now. Along with being an attacking batsman, he is a brilliant fielder as well. The aggression that he shows on the field is incomparable. When it comes to playing cricket, his energy and passion are unmatched. But what I like most about him are his personal qualities.

He is a down to earth person despite being one of the richest and most famous sportsmen in the world. He always remains humble and grounded. He is also very disciplined and committed to his game. He has set high standards for himself and always gives 100% on the field. These qualities inspire me to do better in everything I do.
