Business planning manager salary
Hi all, Expecting an offer for a corporate planning manager salary at HPE. 3 questions: Was wondering what the expected comp is (+ will I get equity too / how much) What levers can I use to increase this initial offer For someone early in career how are the growth opportunities at HPE / ability to jump to younger company in a few years if I don’t like it there TC150k YOE 4 #hpe
1.It depends what level, but at 4 years I can’t imagine HPE even meeting your current TC. 2. Levers? A competitive offer, and even then I can’t imagine us meeting it for a business planner. 3. Very little growth opportunity, unless you are desperate I would have a hard time recommending our company. I have wasted my life working here.
1) wow. General market is 165-185k for base. I figured my tc was minimum for a new base (I’ve heard HPEs bonuses are peanuts) 2) yeah competitive offer or any insight into salary bands are low. This is for ezmeral so I imagine it’s even lower (especially if PE gets involved) 3) is growth BU specific or company wide? What makes you say you wasted your life working there
I agree with CzyL21.. Very less growth opportunities + politics + no management for on going projects + promotion issue + no good bonus + stocks options
1. Location dependent, I live in HCOL, but band for my area with 20+ years experience is approx. 170. This is highest IC band. :( 3. I am in a ‘growth BU’ we haven’t made company bonus in at least 5 years. Horrible rewards. I know the Ezmeral team, seem to be an okay org

One more question to all @czyl21 @okaydone This is an expert level role. Do you know the salary band info for this / what a good equity package would look like? Can you confirm expert is 2 promotions / job levels away from director?
Expert - Masters - Distinguished Technologist is what I believe IC track Masters and Manager may be equivalent? However their is Mgr, Senior Mgr, then Director. So Expert may be 3 promos away. I know talented career folks that get stuck at manager. Essentially promotion path (outside of sales), is tied to driving multi million business. Very difficult to move the needle. I know pay bands overlap a lot, an Expert could make more than a Master ( high band expert versus low band Master). The pay-bands are also based on location. I am in a HCOL.area, and while my base could be okay, the other elements of pay, most specifically bonus hasn’t been great in years.
Understood. Same I am in San Francisco so very HCOL. Any thoughts on the ezmeral business and it’s future? If comp isn’t where I want it would u suggest going for more equity or a signing bonus?
The other poster might have more info. From my perspective Ezmeral doesn’t have the $$ behind it to compete in K8 market. Maybe you could change that? Unclear how much we would increase equity or signing bonus, now that market has changed. Bottom line - great people here, but if you want $$ not the right place. All a balance.
