Fire In My Neighbourhood - Free Essay Examples and Topic Ideas

Fire is a chemical reaction that occurs when a combustible substance combines with oxygen and releases heat, light, and gases. The reaction is exothermic, meaning it gives off energy in the form of heat and light. Fire requires three things to occur: fuel, heat, and oxygen. The fuel is the material that is being burned, such as wood, paper, or gasoline. Heat is needed to start the chemical reaction, and oxygen is required to keep it going.

essay a fire in my neighbourhood

Fire in my Neighbourhood

Mishaps or calamities happen suddenly and can be devastating at times, especially if it's a fire. When a fire took place in my neighbourhood I was awestruck and dumbfounded to see the chaos and loss that it caused. It was 10 o'clock at night when a house in my neighborhood had caught fire. I was having my dinner when I heard screams of panic in the neighbourhood. I looked out of the window and saw people rushing towards the burning house. In no time the fire had spread to the first floor which bellowed out smoke from all corners. Residents were pouring buckets of water to extinguish the fire. Many people were throwing sand and dust over the fire. A few people were trying to control the fire by throwing blankets on it. But the fire was ravaging. It was a terrible sight. It was a two-storeyed building. Some residents of the house were trapped in the second floor. I overheard people saying that the fire may have started from the ground floor. Soon, it spread to the first floor. People entrapped in the building were screaming for help. The flames were rushing towards them. Their lives were in danger. Just then someone in the crowd informed the fire brigade. Some of those who were trapped in the fire took chance of rushing out through the burning flames. They sustained minor burn injuries. It was an awful and miserable sight. The other residents of the neighbourhood were at a loss about ways and means of rescuing those who were trapped in the fire. Soon the fire brigade arrived. But the fire had already taken its toll. The residents were very anxious, because despite their best efforts they could not extinguish the fire. Some of those who were trapped in the second floor jumped from there in an attempt to save their lives. It was a horrid sight. The firemen fought the fire bravely and brought it under control with the help of large water pipes. They setup a staircase up to the first floor and then to the second. They managed to rescue all those who were trapped amidst flames. What a relief! Everyone was saved including a woman and child. In this brave effort two fire fighters were injured. Some of those who were rescued suffered serious burn injuries. The injured were immediately rushed to the hospital. However, with a great deal of effort the fire was doused, but it caused immense damage and destruction to the house. Four fire brigade vans finally managed to drench the flames. Furniture, belongings and valuables were burnt to ashes. The whole house looked dismal. Later investigation revealed that the fire had originated from a short circuit on the ground floor. The good news was that no life was lost, thanks to the brave efforts of the residents and firemen!

Fire is a good servant but a bad master. I recall a fire accident that took place in our neighborhood last week.it was the saddest day of my life. The night the fire outbreak occurred the weather that night was very hot and most people were sleeping outside their houses, because they could not bear the hot.

At 2pm I suddenly heard frantic cries of people shouting fire, I quickly get up from my bed at once and opened the window, I look from the window, I saw clouds of smoke rising from a house in our neighborhood. The police cordoned off the affected area the fire men of the fire brigade swung in to action immediately they showered a lot of water on the the fire from their hose pipes, two fire men went in to the house and they brought out the dead bodies of the children and their grandmother, everybody started weeping, I could not bear to see the parent crying, when I look into their full with tears I just remember my own children that were sleeping. Building a house takes a lot of pain. It is not only about building a pucca house or a kutcha house. All the struggles and all the pain vanishes within a few minutes.

Having a shelter over our heads is a blessing. It takes a lot of pain to build a house. It is not only about the money but also the physical labour we take to build a house. But when there is a fire outbreak and the whole place is burnt down, nothing can be more heartbreaking than this. All the pain and struggle vanishes within a few minutes. While walking down the street in 2018, I saw a small spark near the slum, and suddenly, one of the houses caught fire as it was a kutcha house and then within a few minutes, the entire house was burning. Being scared, I screamed out to help, and before the people could save the house, it was completely burnt down. The pain was seen in the eyes of the owner, and I could see the fire in his eyes.

Building a house is a labour of love. It is not only about the money; it is also about the physical labour required to construct a home. It is a blessing to have a roof over our heads. But nothing can be more terrible than a house fire that ultimately consumes the entire structure. All of the troubles you took and struggles you underwent vanish in a matter of minutes. Once I was returning from my tuition classes in the evening, and suddenly, someone shouted for help in my neighbourhood. It was a lonely place, and I got scared listening to the scream. Before I could turn back, I saw a bright light, and after turning back, I saw my neighbour’s house was on fire. I could see him trying to save his house by throwing water, and his wife was coming out of the house with two children. Thanks to the fire brigade who came immediately and saved more than half of the building.

Having a place to call home is a blessing and is a major boon to have your own home. Many people are homeless, and we can never understand the hardships they face every day. When someone constructs their own house, they go through a lot of grief and suffering that is concealed from the public eye. Nothing is more terrifying than discovering your home is on fire. All of your suffering and anguish are buried deep within you. I was studying in my room one day when I heard a loud explosion in my neighbourhood. I bolted from my room and dashed downstairs to see what had happened. Almost all of my neighbours were running towards the end of the lane, where a huge flame was blazing. I could not really distinguish if it was someone’s house or just a fire. When I arrived, I noticed that one of my neighbours’ houses was on fire, and the owner was crying. I phoned the fire department right away, and they arrived with a long siren and quickly evacuated the entire building. They attempted to save the cook and the owner’s wife, who were trapped inside. His house was half burned down, but there were few other casualties. The people who were saved are grateful to the fire department.

A house can catch fire due to various reasons. When a person builds his house, he takes a lot of pain which is hidden from the rest of the world. He puts in all his efforts to build the house, and nothing in this world can be as terrifying as seeing your house set on fire. A lot of people are homeless, and their pain is incomparable. Something happened when I was in 5th grade and was learning about the emergency contact numbers in my school. While returning from the school, I saw a huge flame from one of the houses in my neighbourhood. My father and I ran to the place to see if it was my house which caught fire, but fortunately it was not my house. It was my neighbour who was a very close friend of my father. I saw him running out of his house and screaming out for help. Without wasting a minute, I called the fire brigade. The flames were spreading, and the owner of the house lost his consciousness due to the gases and flames. The fire brigade reached the site immediately and saved the lives of the people who were trapped inside the house and saved almost sixty percent of the house from burning. Although the fire crew spared his home, the owner’s eyes are permanently scarred by the wreckage. He burst into sobs as he realised what had happened. Even though he repaired his home, the devastation it caused is indescribable.

How does a house catch fire?

A house can catch fire due to various reasons. Fire is unstoppable. Therefore, it can spread quickly inside a house. It can be caused if a gas cylinder bursts, if there is an electric spark, etc.

How can we save a house on fire?

If a house catches fire, the best thing to do is to call the fire brigade immediately. It is not easy to stop the fire from spreading without the help of fire extinguishers.

One day, as I was returning from the playground, I saw a house on fire on the way. I rushed towards the burning house. When I reached there, I saw many people outside the house. Some of them were pouring buckets of water on the fire while others were throwing sand and dust. It was a horrible sight.

A House On Fire Essay

The house was a double-storeyed. Some of the inmates of the house were in the rooms on the first floor. They were crying for help as they were surrounded by the flames. The fire was spreading. Some of the inmates came out of the house with burns and injuries (blisters). But those, who were on the top floor, could not get out.

Meanwhile, the fire brigade arrived. The neighbours tried their level best to extinguish the fire but they could not. There was no fire extinguisher system in the house. The staff of the fire brigade fought bravely with the fierce flames. Water pipes were laid and the fire brigade officials made an effort to control the fire. One of the officials set a staircase that led to the windows of the upper storey. He took a great risk. He brought out the inmates and came down through the stairs amidst flames. The moment he got down along with two inmates, he fell down unconscious. The inmates whom he had rescued had severe burn injuries. They were immediately rushed to the nearest hospital in a serious condition.

The fire did great damage to the house. Clothes, furniture and other valuable articles were reduced to ashes. The fire brigade brought the fire under control after one hour of valiant efforts. ‘This is all I have’: Woman tearfully recounts terrifying escape from St. John’s apartment fire

A massive fire on Monday morning ripped through a series of connected public housing units in central St. John's.

Six conjoined units on Empire Avenue were gutted in the fire, which drew a heavy response from the St. John's regional fire department.

Platoon chief Derek Hunt said the department received a call about the fire at 8:30 a.m., and within two minutes firefighters arrived at the site to find heavy smoke and visible flames.

"Our main priority then was to stop the fire spread," Hunt told CBC News late Monday morning.

"We have very high winds today, prevailing winds that are blowing the smoke and fire towards the undamaged units."

The fire destroyed at least six units. Hunt said residents were evacuated and there were no injuries.

At one point, orange flames were shooting out of a ground-floor window in one unit, with similar flames devouring the eaves along the roof.

A housing complex is covered in flames. Vinyl siding is melting while flames flow underneath a roof.

On the doorsteps of nearby units, residents watched crews attacking the fire from both sides of the building.

Kim Whalen was in her living room underneath the unit where the fire originated. She says she noticed a man across the street from the window waving his arms and telling her to get out.

That's when she noticed the smoke. Within seconds, she grabbed her dog, Juno, and left.

"We had to run through the flames," she said. She was terrified, she said, but was more worried about her upstairs neighbours because they have a baby.

"I told the fireman, 'You got to get the baby,' but they were already out, thank God."

She watched from across the road, surrounded by Red Cross workers, as everything she owned burned, including recipe boxes with handwritten notes and valuables that were passed down from her grandmother to her mother, both of whom are dead.

"A lot of photographs that I'll never get back," she said. "[But] everyone got out safe. So that's the main thing."

Marc Budgell, Newfoundland and Labrador Housing director of communications, said they "are working with the impacted tenants to identify alternative housing options."

Whalen says the Red Cross will provide her with a hotel room for a few days. She doesn't know what she will do afterward, she said, but the main thing is she made it out safely.

"I'm alive. I got out."

My Neighbours Essay in English for Students [Easy Words]

January 5, 2021 by Sandeep

Essay on My Neighbour: Neighbours are generally the first point of contact in our surroundings. They are integral members of our lives with whom we tend to share our joys, sorrows and happiness. Neighbours extend a helping hand during bad times and lift our spirits during good times. Inviting neighbours and spending time with them is part of our everyday lives.

Essay on My Neighbours 200 Words in English

Below we have provided My Neighbour Essay in English, suitable for class 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Neighbours are people who reside next door or near our house. They are an integral part of our lives and can belong to different communities or countries. Having good neighbours is a blessing because they become a part of our family and are always ready to help us during hard times. They share happiness and sorrows with us, and when our family is not around, they comfort us with their company.

I have such a kind-hearted, humble and sympathetic person who lives next door. Her name is Sonalee Shirke, who works as a software engineer in a reputed company. She is an ideal neighbour who helps me to solve my problems. Though she is older to me, she is a fun-loving, merriest and vibrant individual I have ever seen. Her mature behaviour and experience always guide me and save me from pitfalls.

I share and discuss everything with her. She is the most caring, unselfish and loving person. Her amicable and helping character is something which stands out in our building, making her the most lovable person in our group. During festivals, she is the one who contributes and takes the initiative to bring people together and celebrate every function heartily.

Then others are a nuisance to our society. They dislike it when children play and do not participate in celebrations. We cannot expect any help from them as they act as a can of worms. Moreover, their actions always display backbiting, carping and putting their noses in others life. Such negative surrounding affects many and creates an unhealthy environment.

Essay on a fire in my neighborhood

Fire in My Neighbourhood

Yesterday night I was suddenly awakened by the shrill sound of sirens all over our neighbourhood. There was a huge hullabaloo accompanied by loud shrieks and cries. As I jumped out of bed and went to the window I was horrified. Before me was raging a huge fire.

The house that was blazing belonged to my best friend. I immediately ran out to see if he was all right. My parents were already there. They were comforting my friend’s family but I could not trace him anywhere. His parents were very worried as nobody could find him. The fire brigades were trying to douse the fire. But still there was no trace of him.

Suddenly, I remembered that my friend was very fond of pets and he had built a small menagerie in the garden. I rushed there and found him trying to comfort all the horror stricken animals and lead them to safety. I ran back and informed the fire brigade people. Soon with their help we got my friend and all his pets to safety. The fire had razed down his house but had elevated me as his hero.

Here’s Why You Hate Watching TV Right Now

A cartoon of an exhausted person lying over a television set.

By Priyanka Mattoo

Ms. Mattoo is a filmmaker, a former talent agent and the author of the memoir “Bird Milk & Mosquito Bones.”

I try to watch TV, I swear. But every time I sit down to find a new show, I brace myself to run an exhausting digital gantlet. The viewing experience, which used to be relatively straightforward and, dare I say, fun now feels as overwhelming and unpleasant as walking into a dimly lit, warehouse-size dollar store in search of one decent spatula.

This is not something I should admit because I work in television. I started out as an agent and then worked as a producer, and now I’m a screenwriter who sells a pilot every year or so. I love working in television; I just no longer love watching it.

If the goal of streamers once seemed to be prioritizing and supporting great series from a diverse group of interesting creators, that goal seems to have shifted from making better shows to just … making more of them. As viewers, we’re being flattened by a fire hose of programming — and the experience of watching TV feels like a ritual of submission, passively accepting a slush of shows served up by a streaming service’s algorithm.

I’m not the only one who feels this way, apparently. How else to explain the surprising success of Tubi, a free streaming service that’s supported by ads and offers few prestige shows or buzzy hits yet set a new high for average monthly viewers earlier this year, beating out the average numbers for high-profile rivals like Disney+, Peacock and Max?

Tubi isn’t reinventing television; in fact, with its free programming and frequent ad breaks, it’s returning to a successful model. But the executives at Tubi seem to understand that viewers want to feel engaged and invested, not manipulated and pinned down. We want well-curated choices rather than an avalanche of mush.

Scrolling Tubi, my heart warms to find the BBC’s “Pride and Prejudice” and the original “Bewitched”; I save “MasterChef” to watch with the family and flag a new Nicola Coughlan Channel 4 comedy , “Big Mood,” to savor immediately. While Tubi uses algorithms and personalized recommendations, its offerings feel more thoughtfully chosen, a mix of the familiar and the adventurous; as the TV critic Kaiya Shunyata put it , Tubi “feels very much like you’re choosing what you want to watch; it’s not an algorithm choosing it for you.” It’s a potent reminder of what we used to love about watching TV — and how we might rekindle that love affair.

Short Essay on My Neighbour (200 Words) – Essay 1

It feels safe, secure and pleasant living in a neighbourhood surrounded by helpful and positive people. The family living in my neighbourhood is full of life. There are six members in their family – grandparents, parents, and two kids. Every member is cheerful and helpful. We have been living in the same neighbourhood for almost a decade and our neighbours have become an important part of our life.

There have been several incidents during these years where they have proved to be of great help and support. I remember the day I was alone at home with my grandmother. My grandmother was doing some household work when her ankle twisted and she fell on the floor. She was unable to get up on her own. I was just seven years old at that time and could not help her stand. I was almost in tears.

I called my neighbours and they immediately came for help. I was really thankful to them. This is just one incident. There have been numerous such incidents wherein they have helped us. Our family also supports them whenever they need any help. Last year, when their house was getting renovated, we invited them to stay with us for a few days.

We have seen various highs and lows in life together and hope our bond stays intact for years to come.

Essay on My Neighbour (300 Words) – Essay 2

My neighbour is the best neighbour.

Introduction

We live in a nuclear family. My father works in an IT firm and my mother is a teacher. I do not have any siblings nor do we have any relatives in the city. We visit my grandparents and cousins only during the summer vacation.

I felt quite lonely when we shifted here initially. However, I soon met Meera, my new neighbour. I was overjoyed to know that she was the same age as me. We were both eight at that time. I got along well with her from the very beginning. We connected very well and I started feeling really better. I was no longer lonely or sad.

Our Bond with our New Neighbour

Just like I became friends with Meera, my mother got along well with her mother. Meera’s mother is a housewife. My mother and she often have evening tea together. We look forward to such days as it allows us to play at each other’s place. We get a chance to play with different toys and games.

On other days, we go together to the park. We play different outdoor games, take swings and enjoy a lot. We also joined the same summer camp during our last vacation. The camp was for three hours daily during the weekdays. We indulged in many activities such as art and craft, dance, music and board games during this time.

Both of us enjoy art and craft work. We prepared many craft items together even after we returned from the summer camp. During the vacations every year, we also visit the malls together. It has been three years since we have been neighbours and it has been a lot of fun.

I am really thankful to God for giving me such a good neighbour. Meera is simply the best. Her family is also very friendly. I am glad that our mothers are also friends with each other.

Essay on My Neighbour (400 Words) – Essay 3

Importance of a good neighbour.

Our neighbours are one of the first people we can approach during an emergency situation. Those who have good neighbours live with a feeling of security. On the other hand, those who do not connect well with their neighbours can have a hard time during their hour of need.

We Need Good Neighbour

Here is why we need good neighbours:

  • Good neighbours support us during crisis. They are there to help us in case any kind of problem arises.
  • They are warm and friendly so we can confide in them in case anything bothers us. It is a good way to lower our stress and burden.
  • They fill the neighbourhood with positivity and make it a better place to live.
  • A neighbourhood surrounded by good neighbours is safe for the kids.
  • Elderly people are treated well and do not feel lonely if they have good neighbours.
  • Good neighbours are always there for each other. They are sensitive to the needs of one another.
  • Good neighbours celebrate festivals and other special occasions together. The joy doubles when people celebrate such special days together.
  • Children who grow in warm and friendly neighborhoods are likely to develop a pleasing personality. They also learn how to share and care.

Neighbours during Earlier Times

Even though it is important to know our neighbours well and maintain a cordial relationship with them, people living in the cities do not make an effort to do so. They usually blame their hectic lifestyle for this. This is quite unlike the people belonging to older generations.

In earlier times, people gave a lot of importance to their neighbours. They made an effort to bond with their neighbours. Their neighbours were an integral part of their lives. They often invited their neighbours to their place. They met regularly during the evening hours. The elderly men in the neighbourhood sat down together post lunch to chit chat. They enjoyed each other’s company until late evening and returned home only around dinner time.

The elderly women went together to the temple during morning or evening hours. They also sat down in the neighbourhood park to chat with each other. The kids, on the other hand, played together for hours. The women in the neighbourhood often went together to the market. They helped each other with household chores. They all lived as one big happy family. This tradition continues in the Indian villages even until today.

We must be good for those living in our neighbourhood if we want to be treated the same way. Our life becomes more enriching and wholesome in the company of good neighbours.

Essay on My Neighbour (500 words) – Essay 4

My experiences with my neighbours.

We live in a society. There are eight families on each floor. There are several floors and many towers in society. This makes it a big neighbourhood. The residential welfare association of our society is very active. They make sure we all celebrate various festivals together. Big events are organized at different festivals. This brings all the neighbours close and helps them bond well. I have had some really good experience living in this neighbourhood but some incidents have not been so good.

Some Good Experiences with My Neighbours

We are on good terms with most of the families living on our floor. My parents understand the importance of maintaining a cordial relationship with the neighbours and thus make an effort to bond with them.

One of the lady living on our floor is very good friend with my grandmother. They both visit the temple during the evening hours. During winter afternoons they sit in the park and knit. My mother often invites her home so that the two elderly ladies can spend time together.

I also have two very good friends in my neighbour. I go with them to the park every evening. We play together as our mothers sit and chat with each other. We also visit each other’s place to play. I feel great to have good friends in my neighbourhood especially because it makes the vacation time a lot more fun. My parents are working. They both go to work in the morning and return only by evening. I stay with my grandparents during the day.

Since they are old they cannot play with me. But they do allow me to call my neighbourhood friends home or let me go there for a few hours after I study for some time. The company of my neighbourhood friends makes my vacations super fun and exciting. I go swimming and cycling with them during the evening hours. The mother of one of my neighbourhood friends accompanies us as we go for such activities.

We exchange gifts with our neighbours on the occasion of Diwali and New Year. We also have lunch or dinner together to celebrate these occasions.

Some Bad Experiences with My Neighbours

While some of our neighbours are really sweet and stand by us in our good and bad times, unfortunately, we also have some troublesome neighbours. We have had our share of bad experiences when it comes to neighbours. Three girls have rented an apartment on our floor. They often play loud music during the late evening hours. This disrupts our sleep. We also have a hard time studying during this time.

We have requested them to keep the volume low many times. But it seems like they do not bother about others. Another one of our neighbours is quite weird. It is a family of four – two kids and their parents. We have tried to approach them and be friends with them. However, it seems like their parents want them to maintain distance from us. They often behave rudely and do not bond well with anyone on the floor.

It is great to have good neighbours. However, not everyone has this privilege. I am glad to have some really nice people in my neighbourhood.

Long Essay on My Neighbour (600 Words) – Essay 5

My memories with my neighbours.

We need to relocate to a new place every few years because of my father’s job. It is difficult to adjust to the new atmosphere. It takes time to adapt to new surroundings and people. However, we have been lucky so far when it comes to neighbours. We have always had good neighbours.

The Old Lady in Our Neighbourhood

We shifted to Lucknow when I was five years old. I really loved that place. We stayed there for three years and I made some really fond memories of that place. I loved our single storey house with a small front lawn, I loved the delicious delicacies of the place, I loved our weekend excursions but most of all I loved my family’s bonding with the old lady in our neighbourhood. Her name was Mrs. Shukla who’s son was preparing for the JEE from best IIT coaching of Lucknow .

She stayed just next to our house and we connected with her very well. I have a faint memory of her coming to our house on the very first day we shifted. She prepared tea and snacks for us and welcomed us to the neighbourhood. We felt at home at once. She sat in her front lawn and knitted sweaters during winter afternoons. My mother often joined her to learn some knitting techniques. She once knitted a small blue sweater for my doll. I was overjoyed to receive it.

Many times when my parents went shopping, they left us at Mrs. Shukla’s place. She took very good care of us. Her grandchildren visited her during the summer vacations. We looked forward to that time as we got along really well with those kids. We often invited them to our place and played all day long. Many times, we also went to their place and it was great fun.

The Punjabi Family in Our Neighbourhood

When I was eight years old, we shifted to Chandigarh. It is a beautiful city. It is very well planned with lovely houses and surroundings. We rented an apartment in a good locality. The atmosphere of the place was quite pleasing and so were our neighbours. Our next door neighbours were a Punjabi family. It was a joint family. There were a total of seven members in the family. Their daughter was almost the same age as mine and I got along really well with her. She often came over to our place during the evening and we played for hours.

Sometimes, we went together to the park to take swings and play badminton. She had two brothers who were older than my brother but very friendly. They always called my brother to play cricket with them. My brother looked forward to playing with them. My mother also became very good friends with their mother. They both went shopping together. They often exchanged recipes and chatted for hours. The two years we spent in Chandigarh were really fun. It would not be wrong to say that the Punjabi family living in our neighbourhood made it even more fun.

The Gujrati Couple

I also cherish the one year we spent in Indore. I was eleven years old when we shifted to this city. It was quite different from the cities I had lived in earlier. A Gujarati couple lived in our neighbourhood. They had bought an apartment close to ours just a few days before we shifted.

So, even they were busy unpacking and decorating their place at the time we shifted. The place was as new to them as it was for us. So, the lady often went out to explore the nearby places with my mother. She cooked delicious curries and often gave us some portion. I loved her warm and friendly nature. Her husband was also very polite and helpful.

Good neighbours enrich our childhood experiences. I am glad we have had some really nice ones. I hope we continue to meet such beautiful and helpful people in the future as well.

Dear Koustav,

It’s been a long time that I haven’t received any letter from you. How are you? Recently, I have witnessed a building catching fire in my neighbourhood. I am writing this letter today, to share this horrific experience with you.

It is a seven storeyed residential building around two lanes away from our house. Last week, on Saturday evening that building caught fire. I was then coming back from my coaching class when I noticed heavy smoke coming out of one of the building’s windows. I immediately asked my father about the incident and he told me that the building had caught fire. 3 engines of the city fire brigade came, and it took around 6 hours to control the fire completely. Unfortunately, 4 persons have died in this incident and many are injured. After primary investigation, the police are saying that it’s a result of a short circuit.

Till after witnessing the incident, it started haunting me every day. I will never forget this event in my entire life. Take care, and be safe.

Dear Sreerupa,

It’s been many days since I didn’t hear from you. How are you doing nowadays? Recently, in our neighbourhood, a multi-storeyed building caught on fire. I am so much shocked by this incident that I want to share my experience with you today in this letter.

It is basically a multi-branded marketplace. Around 1 am at midnight, the fire broke out and almost the entire building got destroyed in the massive fire. 6 engines of the fire brigade came to the spot within 30 mins, but they couldn’t control the fire till even the morning. By 9 am in the morning, around 50 firefighters became able to control the fire. Fortunately, nobody was injured as the fire broke out at midnight. Only two old shops got burnt.

From primary investigation, the police are suspecting some major short circuit as the reason for this massive fire break out. Still, some people are thinking that it is a man-made disaster. What do you think of it? Let me know in your next letter.

Your loving friend Amitayu Chakraborty

87/C RN Tagore Road, South Tarapukur Nadia

February 11, 2021

Dear Arijit,

In the last letter you wrote, you told me about a horrific incident in your life and wanted to know one of mine. In this letter, I want to recall the horrific fire I once witnessed in one of our neighbourhood buildings.

The incident occurred a year ago. I was just returning from school when I heard a tremendous noise of shouting and mourning from our locality. Besides, I noticed heavy smoke coming out of a multiple-storeyed residential building in our neighbourhood. A huge crowd along with 3 engines of the fire brigade was gathered in front of the house. As soon as I saw the fire-workers and smoke, I understood that fire had broken out in the building.

After 5 hours of continuous attempts, the fire brigade became able to control the fire. But unfortunately, 11 people died in this disaster. I can never forget the scene of those dead bodies coming out of the building carried by fire workers. According to the police, it was an incident of a gas cylinder burst. For me, it was the most horrific incident I have ever witnessed in my entire life.

Your best friend, Altaf Hossein

Question: A government office building in your neighbourhood caught fire recently. Write a letter to your friend describing your assumption about the reasons behind this fire and discuss how it could be prevented.

Hints: Government office under fire- Everywhere in news- 10 fire-brigade engines- Took 16 hours to control- Dangerous condition of electric-wires- Lack of preventive measures- Government must rethink about the maintenance- Preventive measures are required

88/7, East Station Road, Belgharia Kolkata: 700110

December 11, 2020

Dear Rehan,

Till now, perhaps you have already seen in the news that a multi-storeyed government office in our area had caught massive fire. I am writing this letter to share my assumptions about the reasons behind this horrific incident.

I think there is no need to explain anymore how massive the fire was as you have already watched it in the news. Around 10 fire-brigade engines became able to control the fire after 16 hours of a continuous battle against the massive fire. I think, short-circuit was the primary reason behind this massive fire. I always noticed that many electric wires used to hang dangerously here and there inside the building. Police are also suspecting the short-circuit as the reason behind this. Moreover, a lack of proper fire-extinguishing measures is also a reason behind this massive fire.

I think the government must rethink maintaining the electric wires properly and install proper fire-extinguishing measures at least after this incident.

Best wishes and regards, Sangita

That was all about my presentation on writing personal letters to your friend describing a fire in a multi-storeyed building in your neighbourhood. In the session above, I have tried to discuss the context from four different aspects through different examples.

I hope all your doubts regarding this topic have been resolved after going through this session. But if you still have any doubts, let me know in the comment section below. I will try my best to address your doubts soon. Also, let us know your valuable opinion on this initiative. Essay on Neighbours

A good neighbour is a great blessing. He is more than relative to us. Our relatives, living far off, may not be in a position to help us in our troubles and sorrows, but a good neighbour is ever ready to help us when we face misfortunes.

He is never found wanting whenever I need his advice or help. He is ever ready to sacrifice his rest or comfort for my sake. His mature experience is always there to guide me in this world and save me from pitfalls.

His mature advice is very valuable for me not only in theory but also in practice He is highly considerate and extremely accommodating. He never says an unkind word. He is always full of sympathy, love and affection for me.

He participates in all my joys and sorrows. He is a great prop to me in this dark and dreary life. He is a pillar of strength to me in the midst of storms and tempests of my life. He has been of great help to me on many an occasion.

Once it so happened that all of a sudden at midnight I fell seriously ill. I began to vomit and my heart began to sink. He at once came running and sat by my bedside the whole night.

He arranged for medical aid at that odd hour. For full seven days and nights, he nursed me with his own hands. I can never forget his sympathy, kindness and service.

How can I repay such a kindly neighbour? May God bless him!

Essay on My Neighbour (400 Words) – Essay 3

Importance of a Good Neighbour

My Experiences with My Neighbours

My Memories with My Neighbours

Shukla.
