Candidates are requested to note the following points about PhD admission.

  • After applying at the application portal, candidates must note down their application-ID and also save the pdf of their application.
  • Note that any candidate who has applied for PhD and paid the fee is eligible to appear for the written-test.
  • Shortlisting based on eligibility criterion will be done after the written-test.
  • It is the responsibility of the candidate himself/herself to go through the eligibility criterion mentioned on this page below and ensure that he/she meets the criterion. He/she should apply for PhD admission only if he/she meets the criterion.
  • No relaxation in eligibility criterion will be given in any case. A student found not meeting eligibility criterion will not be interviewed/selected or given any travelling allowance, regardless of his/her score in the written-test.

PERCENTAGE TO GPA CONVERSION RULE

As for the percentage to GPA conversion, the following rule applies.

  • If candidate’s university has provided GPA corresponding to the percentage on the transcript, or if his/her university prescribes some formula for conversion, then, that will apply. This formula should be mentioned clearly on University website and/or candidate’s transcript.
  • Otherwise, the following formula, will apply: GPA = percentage/10 If the GPA of the candidate is not in the scale of 10 but in the scale of K (e.g., 4 or 8), then: GPA = GPAOnScaleK*10/(K) Here, GPAOnScaleK is candidate’s GPA on the scale of K. For GPA, rounding-off will not be done. For example, if a candidate’s GPA is 6.98 and the GPA criterion is 7.00, then, the candidate will not be considered as eligible.

About My journey at BIT, Mesra for pursual of Ph.D.

For PhD, our batch has 5 scholars who choose this course to pursue the highest degree in academics from the renowned institute in CSE. All our faculties are PhD. Holders and a few of them are even Post-Doc. First-year we have course work than annual reviews, presubmission and final defence and viva

If you take full-time mode then a stipend will be given For part-time scholars, no stipend because they are already working somewhere 10% hike every year in fees. Fee structure is a bit high but by seeing the level of organisation and reputation it ok to pay

IIT Goa - Ph.D.

Life in Goa is very much happening and the same goes for campus life. Although, Ph.D. students find very little time after their research for leisure. The events organized at the campus are filled with fun and excitement. My group also went clubbing at night and we enjoyed it a lot. Amenities in the classroom and the infrastructure of the campus are top-notch. Labs are equipped with the latest equipment.

I didn't sit for placements as I wanted to go for the post of Assistant professor here at the institute itself. In 2020, the highest CTC was recorded as Rs. 43 LPA, and a total of 121 companies participated in the placements. 87% of the students got placed in the general placements. Microsoft, Paytm, Reliance Jio, KPMG, L&T, LTTS, ARM, Intel, and VMware were the top recruiters of the placement week.

Honest Review

Faculties are highly knowledgeable and with 100% interest, they put lots of effort to make students understand the concept. Each class has about 55 to 60 students. Monthly internal exams are taken thrice a semester and at the end of each semester, an external exam is there. External exam papers and checking are done by VTU University. If we study the prescribed textbook thoroughly they we can score very decent marks in the final exam. Everything marking, paper setting etc is done fairly since it comes under VTU. Under VTU more than 200 colleges come under so you can imagine how reputed VTU university is and so is the final degree provided also have a lot of value outside the college. Therefore I suggest you join the Don Bosco Institute of Technology.

Annually fest is there called as "VISMAY" And other festivals are also celebrated from time to time. Almost every week some of the other workshops are conducted. In the library plenty of books are present. Apart from academics, other books are also present in a quite decent number. Also, the department library is there where all department students can access the books. The classroom has fans and is fully ventilated and the lighted rooms are. Sports competitions and extracurricular activities frequently take place. Don Cisco official website is there. The Alumni group is also there. And various other telegram groups etc are also there.

Campus life and campus is very beautiful. All the facilities are there needed by a student. There are different clubs are there related to sports culture and other activities. The library has a vast collection of books and journals. Playground swimming pool badminton hall table tennis basketball courts volleyball courts etc are different sports facilities. There are many cultural and technical fests happen like Ragam Tathva etc.

I want to do MTech in Computer Science and Engineering. I want to get placement in big tech companies. The faculty-student ratio was good around 1:4. All the faculties are very well qualified, almost all of them are having doctorates from reputed universities. Exam happens according to the academic calendar and the difficulty level was medium.

A step to bright future .

Internships opportunities.

The college had a good intership opportunity available. Which helps students to get good placements to earn their living. This intership helps students a lot. The company's names are Infosys ltd., Accenture and Microsoft, etc. The companies provide many project and college help students a lot in completing the project and getting a good placement.

The college organise term test every ans month and sometimes also organise mock tests for students's good preparation. The college also had a well managed library with lots of books of every field the student required ,the library help student a lot in enhancing their knowledge. Also college also had a sports field for students fitness .

The life of campus is awesome. Here all the clubs are available. Like dance, music, sport, poetry, robotics, and few cultural clubs. Lot of journals and books are available in digital library but those are access to only college students.

I would like to explore some research which help in real time scenario, so our college focus more on research, especially, machine learning and deep learning, and image processing. The bad aspect of college is that tuition fee is high.

Excellent institute

The curriculum is very flexible. The curriculum is heavily focused on the research just like as any other PhD program. Field work very important in the PhD to collect data and work on a original research problem and add new knowledge in the existing literature. To get your PhD degree, you have to submit an thesis , free of plagiarism and you have to defend it in front of your judging panel.

The college has others extracurricular activities also.. fresher party by seniors then we do celebrates teacher days and others. Convocation ceremony and farewell party for the graduating students also organized by the institute. They are various clubs for students from literacy club to coding clubs, this clubs frequently take part in various national and state level competiton

For Ph.D students, first two semester for their course work. That is every scholar should take four 3 credits course as a course work. After completing course work, Scholars should clear the comprehensive exam and viva where they mainly checking our basics thorough or not. Then we can our research start fully.

Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing is a Institution of national importance. Thus facilities are having good profiles with high exposure from aboard university. Their teaching skill also are very different than from the other engineering colleges.

The university has a Student's Mall housing Food Court, Stationery & Book Shop, Salon, Dispensary and Branded Outfit Shops. The Campus also has Coffee Shops and kiosks in its spread. The auditorium is regularly used for organizing cultural, technical and academic events and screening of entertainment and educational movies.the University has launched its own community radio – BBD FM at 90.8 MHz to educate, sensitize and share knowledge with students and community. BBD FM at 90.8 MHz through its programs exclusively designed seeks to reach out to the masses of Lucknow and adjoining localities on issues concerning health, education, environment, community development, scientific awareness, cultural and social welfare, civic & social issues etc.

I entered the university through my JEE score. But UPTU marks were also taken into consideration for the admission process. Since it is one of the best private universities in Lucknow, good score was the criteria for the admission to any of the courses that they offered. When I visited the university in Lucknow, the management team assisted me in every way possible. They guided me and answered every query that I and my parents had.

Fee structure and facilities.

The mideterm examinations are conducted in the middle of each semester so that students can understand whether they have learned enough or not. It becomes very easy for teachers to assess the progress of the students and according the remedial actions are initiated. The final semester examination is conducted according to a predefined calender of events which is published at the beginning of every academic year. The results are declared earliest possible and the failed students are given with the second opportunity for improvement. As far as these all examinations are concerned, the fee structure is feasible and worth of what we get from the institute.

The MoU with many research organizations and industries in and outside the country are allowing us to apply for the internship. Many of our student friends have completed their internships at IITs and a few are pursuing their research work at foreign universities like UTP Malaysia. The students of SGGS are supported with the stipend according their admissions under the programs such as QIP, TEQIP and Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme etc. The stipend is given as per the norms of funding agency of Govt. of India. Overall, all the students are happy about the research facilties, expert guidance and encouraging research environment and culture of the institute.

Exam structure.

Exam structure of every semester is that you have to appear for two class test and one final test. The class test is of 20 marks each and final has got weight age of 60 marks. 40 percent is pass mark in total. there is no gaps between two exam. for CT it will end in 3 days and final exam will end in 5 days. So you have hectic schedule during exam. Labs are conducted in second half of day. It may be either everyday or one or two day depending on course and subject. For general subject classes schedule is not very hectic or back to back. Overall It has good schedules.

Campus life is very good. A healthy atmosphere is here. There is no biasness on the basis of religion and cast. there is no gender biasness. Girls and boys ratio is 30:70, which is much higher than any other IITs. So many cultural , technical and sports fest are organized throughout the year. There are many experts talk from industry and academic is held for exposure to students. All events are at grand level in which many outside students participate. Many debate and essay competition are held at institute level.

All regions

  • Students must remain enrolled full-time in the PhD program for the duration of the Fellowship or forfeit the award.
  • Google employees, and their spouses, children, and members of their household are not eligible.
  • Students that are already supported by a comparable industry award are not eligible. Government or non-profit organization funding is exempt.
  • Past awardees from the PhD Fellowship program are not eligible to apply again.
  • Grant of the Fellowship does not mean admission to a PhD program. The awardee must separately apply and be accepted to a PhD program in computer science (or an adjacent field) at an eligible institution.
  • Grant of the Fellowship will be subject to the rules and guidelines applicable in the institution where the awardee registers for the PhD program.

  • Student CV with links to website and publications (if available)
  • Short (1-page) resume/CV of the student's primary PhD program advisor
  • Available transcripts (mark sheets) starting from first year/semester of Bachelor's degree to date
  • Research proposal (maximum 3 pages, excluding references)
  • 2-3 letters of recommendation from those familiar with the nominee''s work (at least one from the thesis advisor for current PhD students)
  • Student essay response (350-word limit) to: What impact would receiving this Fellowship have on your education? Describe any circumstances affecting your need for a Fellowship and what educational goals this Fellowship will enable you to accomplish.

  • Student essay response (350-word limit) to: Describe the desired impact your research will make on the field and society, and why this is important to you. Include any personal, educational and/or professional experiences that have motivated your research interests.
  • Student essay response (350-word limit) to: Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes or contributed to group efforts over time. (A leadership role can mean more than just a title. It can mean being a mentor to others, acting as the person in charge of a specific task, or taking the lead role in organizing an event or project. Think about what you accomplished and what you learned from the experience. What were your responsibilities? Did you lead a team? How did your experience change your perspective on leading others? Did you help to resolve an important dispute at your school, church, in your community or an organization? And your leadership role doesn’t necessarily have to be limited to school activities. For example, do you help out or take care of your family?)
