How to Find and Cancel Unwanted Online Subscriptions
These tips will help you end services you no longer need
Tired of paying for online subscriptions you no longer use but can’t quite figure out how to cancel? You’re not alone.
Streaming platforms like Netflix, cloud storage services like iCloud, and newspaper and music subscriptions often make it difficult to find the cancel function on their app or website. It’s also easy to simply forget about digital subscriptions you signed up for, especially ones started as free trials. Months can go by before you realize the provider is charging your credit card.
But it could soon be easier to end unwanted subscriptions. Last year the Federal Trade Commission proposed a “click-to-cancel” provision that would require companies to let you cancel subscriptions as easily as you were able to sign up. In the meantime, we have tips to help you find and then hit “cancel” quickly now.
1. Identify Your Subscriptions Check your credit card statements from the last year for recurring payments, says Tiffany Aliche, a financial educator and author. One easy way to do this is to use a subscription tracking tool, such as Rocket Money or OneMain Trim, which finds and then helps you cancel subscriptions you no longer want. (Caveat: You may need to grant these tools limited access to your accounts, so read their privacy policies carefully.)
2. Opt Out of Apps To see a list of the apps you’re currently paying for through Apple Pay, open the App Store on your smartphone and click on “Account,” then “Subscriptions.” From there, you can click “cancel” on those you no longer want. (The steps are similar for the Google Play store.) For canceling other subscriptions, search Google for step-by-step instructions (e.g., “how to cancel a Netflix subscription”).
3. Keep Track of Discounted or Free Trial Periods When you hit “cancel” on a subscription, it’s common for services to offer you a “don’t go!” free extension or discount for a limited amount of time. If you decide to take them up on it, set a calendar alert for two or three days before the end date of the promotion to remind you to take action. The same goes for any free trial subscriptions you may sign up for. Alerts will help you juggle multiple trials at a time.

About the Company

From text examples and tips to useful tools for crafting a resume and cover letter, Resume Now has been the top choice of over 10 million job seekers. Thanks to its easy-to-use features, it takes the guesswork out of the process and makes it streamlined.
Features & Materials
The research for our Resume Now review showed that the platform is very intuitive and easy to use. To start the resume creation process, you first need to choose a template. Then, you’ll be redirected to the editor and decide whether to build a document from scratch or transfer an old one into a new template.
Resume Now Templates
Resume Now has an impressive selection of over 60 free and premium templates. From traditional to modern style, all designs are eye-catching and crafted specifically to highlight your top achievements, skills, and qualifications. Throughout our Resume Now review, we’ll analyze all templates.
The clean and simple popular templates are suitable for any job. You can also find options designed specifically for positions in traditional fields like law and medicine. Then, the few modern templates are more suited for the technology sector. Finally, you can find several unique designs, a mix of professional and elegant.
Resume Now Builder
When you choose a template, you’ll have to provide personal information like name, address, email address, and phone number. Then you’ll be prompted to create an account. You can use your Google or Facebook account for convenience.
Once you complete the Resume Now sign-in process, you can add in your experience section. First, you need to provide essential information like job title, employer, city, and duration. Then, you can write more about what you did in your job posts.
You can also add some of the dozens of ready-to-use phrases or write your own description. Upon closer analysis of our Resume Now account review, we saw that the phrases are excellent. What’s more, only a small portion of them requires you to edit the fields highlighted in red.
Once you click “Continue,” you’ll get a summary of the information you’ve entered. You can edit or delete it, add a new experience, or continue to step three. You’ll have to detail your education, including the name and location of the school, degree, study field, and graduation date.
Next, Resume Now recommends the skills that match your job title, and you can select which describes you best. The system automatically pulls out four top skills and asks you whether you like to keep them or add your own. User statements in Resume Now reviews praise that as a very nice touch.
Resume Now Summary and Additional Sections
Resume Now gives you a few professionally-written summaries so you can choose the one that best describes your goals. Before finalizing your resume, you can choose to include the following additional sections:
- Accomplishments
- Activities and honors
- Websites, portfolios, and profiles
- Certifications
- Additional Information
You can also add and name custom sections.
Resume Now Editor
Before saving or downloading your resume, you can see an overview. Resume Now offers a built-in spell-check tool that’s quite intuitive. You can also see a summary of all sections you’ve included and still opt to add a new one if you’ve missed something.
During the research for our Resume Now review, we learned that you could change your template, adjust the formatting, and change the color until you’re satisfied with your resume’s final look, even after writing your resume.
Resume Now Cover Letter Builder
The Resume Now cover letter builder is intuitive and easy to use. The tool guides you throughout the process and explains each section so you know what to include and highlight.
You’ll have to add details about your desired job position and employer, years of relevant experience, skills, and more. You get a few ready-made text sections for the opener, body, possible employment gaps, and closer. You can edit the information and the template as you go.
Resume Review Service
More than one review for Resume Now points out that if you aren’t sure if your resume or cover letter is well-crafted, you can get expert help. The expert reviewer will check the grammar, spelling, and formatting, highlight your most marketable skills, help you effectively present yourself, and stand out from the competition.
This service aims to improve your existing resume. You can get experts to polish your resume and optimize it with industry-specific keywords and relevant bullet points to showcase your job history and skills more compellingly to impress hiring managers. Professional Writing Services
Besides offering an excellent resume builder, Resume Now provides professional writing services. You’ll be working with certified professional resume writers who will craft your resume in a way that showcases your values and strengths best.
Reviews of the Resume Now writing service state that the process is straightforward. You’ll need to input some basic information for your writer. Optionally, you can request a phone consultation.

The feature that enables you to match jobs to your resume is very convenient. It automatically filters the jobs and shows those that match your experience best.
Resume Now Price for Writing Services
Resume Now offers four pricing options for custom resume writing. Some alternatives provide a broader range of field-specific resume writing options—military-to-civilian, tech, career change resumes, and more. However, Resume Now has excellent service with fair pricing.
- Entry Plan — It costs $99, and it caters to students who don’t have any work experience. The writers make sure to highlight your growth potential, quality, and relevant activities.
- Professional Plan — Coming at $199, this writing service aims to help professionals, military people, and tradespeople score an interview with a well-polished resume. For our Resume Now review, we confirmed that the content focuses on showcasing result-oriented experience, career progression, and accomplishments.

Resume Builder Pricing
The platform allows you to build and download your resume in.txt format for free. However, to save it in a PDF format or Word or print it, you’ll have to choose one of the available Resume Now subscription options:
- 14-day Access — It costs $2.85, and you get all premium features for the trial duration. Afterward, it automatically renews to a monthly subscription of $9.85.
- Monthly Subscription — It’s $10.45 and comes with all premium features.
- Annual Subscription — If you pay $125.40 upfront for a yearly subscription, you’ll get a 2% discount and all premium features.
You can end the subscription at any time by submitting a Resume Now cancellation notice before the last day of the paid period by email, chat, or call.
Furthermore, all pricing plans include access to all professional designs, unlimited download, print, or email options in multiple formats, a free mobile app, and the cover letter builder.
Resume Now Refund Policy
Resume Now allows you to cancel your subscription at any time. That said, you’ll only get a refund if the cancellation of services is requested before the 14-day trial expires.
You should contact the customer department or access the online cancel page through your account settings to submit a cancellation request. Once the cancellation is processed, the company will send a confirmation email.
Considering the several Resume Now reviews reporting cancellation issues, we advise you to call customer service for assistance.

Alternatives to Resume Now
Resumewriter.
ResumeWriter offers a wider range of specialized packages and has a longer history. It’s a better-known service but costs about $50 to $100 more per plan, with no monthly subscription options.
The primary advantage of ResumeWriter is that it also offers professional LinkedIn packages. Learn more by reading our ResumeWriter review .
Zety Review
Zety offers a cost-effective, simple option for those who want to update their CV. At just $5.95 per month, it’s not as feature-rich, but there are several templates from which to draw. Read more in our Zety Review.
Resume Now Review — The Final Verdict
Resume Now is a great resume builder with a diverse selection of templates that fit the needs of entry-level job seekers and executives. Thanks to its intuitive editor, you can make a professional-looking resume in just 15 minutes.
What’s more, you can quickly craft a cover letter, too. One potential downside is the confusing “free service” — actually, you can only build your resume or cover letter for no charge, and then you’ll have to pay to access and use it.
The company also offers professional writing services. Although they’re a bit pricey, users, especially those looking for senior-level jobs or changing careers, will find them to be worth it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Resume Now is a legit resume builder that can help you craft a well-looking resume and cover letter to impress the hiring managers. The company offers a free resume and cover letter builder but states that you’ll have to pay to access, download, or use the documents. Some users find this practice misleading and complain about being charged a monthly fee. That can happen if you don’t read the subscription terms where the company states the trial plan will automatically renew after the end of the period.
You can request Resume Now to delete your account by logging into your profile. You should go to your setting and click on the “Resumes” or “Letters” tabs. Additionally, you can deactivate or delete your account through the “Overview” tab under “My Settings” on your account. Once you delete the account, your resume and profile won’t be visible to other users.
You can cancel your subscription at any time. Make sure to do so before the next billing cycle; otherwise, you won’t get a refund. Also, you can cancel your subscription before the trial period ends and get a full refund. To do so, you should contact the customer support department or do it by yourself through the cancelation page. You’ll need to log in and access your account’s settings.
Resume Now is marketed as a free resume builder. The company allows you to create your resume and cover letter for free, however, to access, download, or print your documents; you’ll have to pay a fee. Resume Now offers 14-day or monthly access at a discounted price and a monthly and yearly subscription. As mentioned previously in this Resume Now review, the only format you can download for free is TXT.

How can I pause/resume my subscription?
Modified on Sat, 21 Oct 2023 at 04:56 PM
Note: the following instructions apply to subscriptions created on supersummary.com . For more information about subscriptions created through the Gumroad site, see here .
We allow the ability to pause your subscription for 30, 60, or 90 days. On pausing, your subscription will not be billed, and will not renew.
For example, if you're subscription is due to renew in 13 days and you pause it for 30 days, once it resumes, you will regain access for 13 days and then it will renew (unless you cancel before then).
You're free to unpause the subscription at any time, even before the set term ends.
If your subscription is annual, this option will work if it is due to renew in 90 days or less.
To pause your subscription:
- Sign in to your SuperSummary account
- In the dropdown account menu, select "Subscription"

Resume-now.com is a complete scam and will take money from you monthly once they get your information.
In January I made a resume with Resume-now.com, once you complete your resume they offer you the option of paying a one time charge of 1.45$ to download your resume or to sign up for an account at a monthly reoccurring charge. I opted for the 1.45 option since I didn’t need to edit it regularly or anything and declined to make a membership.
I didn’t even give it a second thought but today I got a text from my banks fraud department asking if I made a payment of 24.99$ usd to Bld*resume which I did not. I called my bank and to my surprise they have been charging me that much every month without so much as an email letting me know I had signed up for an account with them (I checked my emails and only found a thank you for the ONE TIME PAYMENT)
I looked on line and it turns out that tons of people have had the same problem with them charging their bank accounts without any authorizations from the card holder. Make sure you stay the fuck away from this one.
