The modern age is the age of machines. Throughout the day and even at night, we are surrounded by the midst of machines.

We get up early in the morning on the alarm of a clock. We heat the water (in winter) with the help of an electric geyser or gas over the gas oven.

We take breakfast of pieces of bread roasted in a toaster and then we go to school or college or our place of work by bike, scooter, car, or whatever vehicle we have.

If we have to travel to someplace, we do so by car, bus, train, airplane, or ship or boat.

In the present age, there is mass production of goods in factories and mills with the help of huge machines.

If we have to visit a doctor or go to a hospital, we are confronted with several machines such as the stethoscope, the stretcher, the ECG, the EEG, the X-rays, the scanner, etc.

Most of the eatables we get such as vegetables, fruits, grains, pulses, sugar, kerosene, petrol, diesel, cooking oil, etc are carried to us in trucks, railway wagons, carts, ships, boats, etc.

Even the water we drink is brought to us through taps and it may have been pumped out from the underground level with the help of machines.

Similarly, we have so many kinds of other machines. They work for us and help us. The Computer and the Robot are two great modern machines.

Machines save time for us. But they have to be looked after and if they cause unemployment or excessive noise or some other inconvenience, they become a nuisance.

Still, we must remember even the human body is a machine. So, machines are not altogether bad.

Total dependence upon machines is harmful to mankind. The use of machinery should cease just at the point where it ceased to help man and it began to encroach upon his individuality.

Essay on Man versus Machine (1435 Words)

February 19, 2018 by Study Mentor Leave a Comment

Human civilization has changed and developed from the time it took its birth many centuries back.

From the time the first human appeared on this earth till today in the 21 st century there have been changes almost everywhere in our life.

This could be the different modern technology, standard of living, methods of working and many other aspects of life.

Today when we have things easily available for us and even the way our work is done easily, have we ever thought how the humans who came on this earth first managed to survive when nothing was easily available?

Very few people will take their time out from the busy schedule and ponder on such things. Well, if we have not thought even once then we should do it.

When humans first came on this earth, they did not have anything. They did not have clothes to wear, food to eat or a place to live in.

They used to cover themselves by cutting the leaves from the plants which were present around them. They would walk here and there in search of food.

Some of the plants and trees had fruits in them. So, in order to survive and fill their stomach they used to pluck the fruits from these trees.

At night they would stay in the open jungle and sleep there itself just like that. They slept in the forest itself because they did not have any place which would give them shelter.

Slowly, they started experimenting new things. They invented fire by striking two stones.

After that they cut the branches from the trees and light them so that they would feel safe at night by chance if any animal would come there and attack them.

After that they started learning to make use of the branches and whatever metal they found around them. They tried making new tools to attack the animals and cultivate the land.

They created new things. But they had to struggle a lot. This sort of struggle is not there today. The methods to do different work all of them have experienced changes and are modernized.

Even the people in the villages or the ones who work in the fields and cultivate the lands, they used different tools and methods which make their work easier.

We will never be able to understand the struggle people of those days have gone through. Even if one wants to know and understand the struggle those people went through, one should go to such a place where nothing is available.

The place can be desert, empty land or land full of plants and trees. They need to leave away all their modern tools behind and go to that place.

They should even leave their phones or any sort of tool which will help them to remain connected with the modern world. They should do things from starting just like how the first humans did.

But the people of today know how to make use of the stones, branches and leaves. So, it will not be a problem for them.

After the first humans learnt to make new things, they created many things. Then these things went through many changes.

In order to compete with these things people made similar products or machines with better factors and features. The competition to produce things led the invention of many other new things.

This has been a continuous process. Every single day there is some sort of development in the existing products, things or technology or production of something new.

This is the reason why we have so many options of everything. Be it school, office, college, food, technology, daily products; every single thing has a wide range of options to choose.

All works have become easier, whether it is at home, educational institutions, agricultural fields, industries etc. Every single place has developed. Even the transport system has improved.

Earlier if people wanted to tell something to another person, they would have to walk miles to travel to their place and give them information. After in order to communicate, the method of writing letter came into existence.

People used to write letters to others. But even this postal system took a lot of time. After this telephone came to light and then the mobile phones.

No matter the other person stays near and or very far, they are always connected with the help of telephone and mobile phones.

After a few years internet connection came into existence and the method of sending emails and messages came into existence.

After that the services of the mobile phones and internet connection was improved and today people can see each other even they are kilometers away or are in different time zones.

This has been made possible by bringing the concept of video calling with the help of ungraded services of mobile phones and internet connection.

Even the transport system has improved. We get buses, cars, trains and flights easily available as per our comfortability and capacity to enjoy their services.

Due to the improvement in the transport services we can reach other places in a short duration of time. Even at our homes whatever things we used have changed.

For example, the invention of gas stoves, chimney, water purifiers, mixer grinders, air conditioner, fans, lights, television connection; all of these had made man’s life very comfortable.

The modern things have made people to stay in connected with each other for the entire twenty four hours.

Even in hospitals new technologies and machines are used for treatment, ultrasound, x-rays and reports.

Now in most of the educational institutions and different working organizations, intercom is placed. With the help of this intercom the students, staff and the employees get information whenever needed.

When intercom was not there the non teaching staff in an educational institution had to personally go the teachers or every classroom to give any information passed by the Principal.

This was the same in the working organization as well. Related to food as well, things have become advanced.

Ready made food is easily available. Not only this, the methods to cook food has also developed greatly. The life of humans has become comfortable and easy.

Yes, man has become dependent on machines. Due to this the lives of humans have become comfortable and the leisure time is more on focus.

At the present day everything works according to the machine. The machines have become a benefit. Manpower has reduced a lot compared to before.

This is because the machines save time by working faster than the manpower. This is why in many places employment has reduced to a great extent.

It is because the difference between the products produced by machines and what man produces is huge. Machine can make more things in a day compared to man.

Not only this because of the modern day machines, man has become lazy.

We cannot see hard work among today’s humans as maximum of the work is done by the machines. The minimum of the work is done by the man himself.

Machines have become a boon for us but have been a curse as well. Man cannot do anything without the help of machines.

From getting up in the morning to sleeping at night, the entire day runs only with the help of machines. Due to the modern day machines and technologies people are always busy with something or the other, whether it is at work or their own personal time.

Earlier people used to wake up on their own listening to the chirping of bird and hen’s morning sound but today maximum of them are dependent on alarm clock to wake up on time.

In order to save time people use new tools and technologies to cook food. Man has become a prisoner in the hands of the machines.

This is why there is nothing interesting going on in the life of the humans. Every day goes the same way like the previous day.

It is the same repetitive life. Machine has made man to become more materialistic. This is why humans compete with each other.

This competition further results in disputes. As in the present day the world is becoming more industrialized the other things are becoming less important.

Yes, progress is important but it should take away the life of man that they only depend on the machines and become a prisoner to the machine.

Essay on “Man and Machines” Complete Essay for Class 10, Class 12 and Graduation and other classes.

Man and Machines

Today man can have many of his needs met by merely pushing a button. Machines have made a tremendous impact on the life of man. Invention of wheel was the turning point in man’s life. It set the ball rolling and new gadgets and machines kept on coming out of industries to take the drudgery out of man’s life. However, man who had invented machines to serve him, became too dependent on them. This has affected mans health, environment and the very life on the planet. Man should ensure that machines do not destroy him and save the life of all living beings on this planet from annihilation.

Science and technology have made tremendous progress in the last two centuries and almost revolutionized human existence. Every aspect of human life has been affected by it. Today, it seems almost unreal that there was a time thousands of years ago, when our primitive ancestors were at the mercy of forces of nature and spent their entire life time grappling with them and hunting for food to keep themselves together. It is indeed difficult for man to ever visualize their lives as today he can have most of his needs met by merely pressing a button. One cannot but help marvel at the ingenuity of our ancestors who with their perseverance and hard work managed to unravel the mysteries of nature and gradually learnt to live in harmony with  them instead of being in awe of them.

It has been universally acknowledged that the invention of the wheel was the turning point in human life. It is amazing how this single invention has contributed more to civilization than perhaps any other invention. It enabled invent means of transport, each faster than the previous one. Where earlier, man had to walk to get anywhere; today man has the choice of going by coach, wagon, bicycle, motorcycle, bus, train, steamer or an aeroplane.

There has been no looking back since then.  Man used his faculties to invent different kinds of machines to take the drudgery out of his life. It has always been man’s dream to have a kind of Aladdin’s genie who could serve him. Today man can easily boast of having invented machines which are always at his back and call. All he has to do is to press a few buttons. Life has indeed become comfortable with the inventions of machines. It has taken the drudgery out of everyday life. It is difficult to imagine life without them. In earlier times there were no rapid means of transport and communication. It is short of miracle that today we can travel around the world by air in less than 24 hours. We can communicate with our loved ones over long distance on telephone or send messages that reach them instantly Facsimile.

Machines have ma life the life of housewives easy. Today, there are many different kinds of gadgets which help a woman to do her work in minutes where earlier the entire day was taken up by tasks as cumbersome as grinding etc. As a consequences she has plenty of time on her hands to pursue her other interests.

There is no doubt that in this age of automation man’s life is more comfortable than that of his forefathers. However, it is a moot whether the quality of life has also improved. It may be argued that the life is easier, but it cannot be said with guarantee that machines have not had any negative impact on the life of  man.

Man had invented machines to serve him. But somewhere along the way, he became servile to them. Today, he is totally dependent on them and feels utterly helpless when a machine disobeys him. His whole life falls out of gear. Man has forgotten to use his body. He has more prone to disease due to lack of exercise. The human body is also like a machine. It has its needs. Exercise is one of them. It helps to keep the muscles and joint supple. All his needs are met by very few buttons. Thus, the very instruments which man had invented for improving his life are becoming a threat to his wellbeing.

Mans curiosity has taken him out of the space to explore life of on other planets. He has designed spaceships with his scientific and technical knowledge. Such exploration has really helped to satisfy mans insatiable urge for understanding the mysteries of nature and the quest goes on. But as long as outer space is used for gaining an understanding of our universe, it is fine, but when outer space is used to settle scores among not so friendly nations and leads to star wars, then the same knowledge and instruments become destructive and are a threat to mans existence and the planet earth.

It cannot be denied that the inventions of latest machines helped mankind in all sphere of life. The latest advances in technology have made it possible to treat diseases which were hitherto considered incurable. Food production and quality of goods have improved. When machines have benefitted mankind in so many ways, they have sincerely tried to avoid wars. In the event of a third world war, the whole world is in danger of annihilation. Human race may be wiped out from this planet as a result thereof.

Essay on Man and Machines Essay (100-200 Words) for Class 5th and 8th

In the past, mankind has created a variety of innovative and inventive inventions. Computers and machines can now replace and control the essential functions previously carried out by human beings. We are now entirely dependent on the artificial mind. But, it is widely accepted that artificial intelligence cannot replace human intelligence because human beings are the primary creators of machines.

Human brains work continuously and faster to create and utilize things smartly. Humans are adept at learning, comprehending and understanding the meaning of different things. They are curious about discovering and discover new things. Humans are multi-talented, whereas machines aren’t. The human brain generates Artificial Intelligence, and their abilities are restricted.

Machines are more efficient than humans when it comes to speed and precision. Calculators, for example, operate more efficiently and accurately than human brains in calculations. Human brains control the functions of any machine. Human brains are naturally developed through studying, experimenting, and experimenting; however, the advancement of machinery is feasible only when humans feed the mechanical brain. There is also an absence of emotional intelligence among machines. The emotional component plays a significant role in the human brain’s development.

So, the capabilities of machines are limited, whereas humans are always trying new things by inventing, making and discovering new and exciting.

Essay on Man and Machines Essay (300-600 Words) for 9th,10th and Inter

Introduction

In the debate about artificial intelligence and the human mind, you will find those who believe strongly in artificial intelligence and those who do not. Humans are dependent on machines that have their positives and negatives. There is undoubtedly no white and black. It is all dependent on the developer to what end.

What do We Prefer?

Man and Machines Essay

Humans are innately inclined to connect. Communication isn’t possible using machines. Call centres use IVR (Interactive voice response), and we are annoyed when a live agent does not respond to the call. When we call customer service, whether to inquire about a problem with our cell or shopping assistance or to make an inquiry, we are directed to IVR, this is frustrating because we must traverse through a lengthy menu, and we are unable to express our thoughts to machines. Can we live in a world where we can only communicate with devices and not people? Humans are the best to talk to. We feel at ease expressing ourselves or provoking and solving our issues by talking to humans.

Impact of Modern Technology on Human Life

Unemployment:   The rise of machines and technology is replacing human power in specific tasks, which is not surprising. It is perhaps the most commonly known disadvantage of devices. We are aware that some jobs are disappearing because machines are replacing them. The industrial revolution also led to the rise of unemployment. There have been losses of jobs with medium-skilled in a variety of industries. It is also predicted that there could be a significant loss of employment due to technological advances, and more and more human power is expected to be taken over by automated machines.

Competency:  A greater dependence on technology, such as calculators and computers, has weakened the human capacity for creativity and innovation. Many people today struggle with basic calculations and spelling without artificial intelligence. While these tools can simplify our lives, we can become incredibly dependent on them.

Wars and Destruction Conflicts and Destruction Artificial Intelligence (AI) and nuclear warfare are well-known. Technology is the main factor in the rise of conflicts due to the manufacturing of new weapons. There are positive impacts of artificial intelligence. However, there is a fear that artificial intelligence could surpass human intelligence and lead to various catastrophe scenarios.

Health Radiation from smartphones is absorbed into the human body and can cause tumours. Using a smartphone against the ear for a long time increases the risk of developing brain tumours. They can also cause cancer if not properly treated. The excessive use of smartphones also causes constant stress. You are always looking for messages or replies from your loved ones and other notifications. Nowadays, everyone is looking to be noticed on social media. If there isn’t any attention, they feel unhappy and stressed.

Environment Dependence on technology, so energy consumption has been increasing. The increasing use of cars is causing more air pollution, which can harm the environment. The impact of technology on the environment is severe, and the cause of dramatic climate changes. Global warming is causing numerous diseases among humans. The extinction rate is also increasing for various bird, plant, and animal species because of climate change. It has devastating impacts on the environment and the natural environment overall.

Conclusion: Therefore, machines are an integral element of our lives and help us in many ways, but we must not overlook their negative effect on our daily lives. There is no rivalry between machines and humans since humans are the ones that invented it. Humans have designed machines for a variety of reasons. It is essential to know which purpose Artificial Intelligence is currently being developed for and whether it has a positive or negative effect on the human condition. The human brain is so strong that it can use machines to create and destroy.

In our childhood, all of us must have read about the amazing feats performed by Aladdin’s Jinn. However, the feats performed by modern machines are far more amazing than any other we have ever read about. Sitting in our own house, we can see a match being played in Australia, or in the West Indies. Just pressing a button can take us into the immeasurable space and merely pulling a lever can destroy a whole country in an instant. All this has been achieved with the help of machines.

Ever since man started scientific experimentation, he has been trying to relieve himself of weary, monotonous work. He found walking tiresome and time-consuming. Therefore, he invented the bicycle, the motor car, the railway train, and the airplane, and now there is the rocket that can fly at an astronomical speed. Agriculture was man’s major occupation. But he found tilling and cultivating land a difficult job and kept on transferring most of his work to machines. Today the bulk of agricultural work right from the ploughing of land to the harvesting of crops is done with the help of machines. Industry has, of course, been completely mechanised.

In fact, if we analyse our daily life, we shall discover that it is completely dominated by machines. The little time-piece whose chiming awakens us is just a small, simple machine. We wash with water pumped into our house with the help of machines. We eat our breakfast also prepared with the help of machines. The clothes we wear are mechanically produced. A machine takes us to our place of work. There we either directly operate machines or work with the help of things manufactured by machines. If we feel hot, we turn on a fan, a cooler or an air conditioner; in winter we switch on an electric heater. All these are small machines.

Two of the most useful instruments in our office are a telephone and a typewriter, and both of them are machines. When were turn home in the evening, we switch on a radio, a television, or a record player. Sometimes we go to the movies. All these are examples of machines. Like the agriculturist and the office-goers, the housewife also found her kitchen work a kind of drudgery. But the latest electrical appliances like cooking ranges, mixers, refrigerators, hot cases, ovens, etc., have made the kitchen work mere fun. In addition, there are the washing machine and the electric press to take the sting out of her work. Gone are the days when the woman of the house had to sweat hard on her work. Now she presses a button the garments are washed clean, she presses another button, and the dough is ready. If we describe the twentieth century as an age of machines, it should not be an exaggeration.

But a very deplorable fact about the modern age of machines is that the relationship between the man and the machines is getting perverted. Machines were supposed to be extra limbs of man, and he could use them whenever he liked. They were man’s slaves, like Aladdin’s jinn. But today machines have become so powerful that it is man who has been reduced to the level of a slave. Man’s dependence on machines is total. A minor breakdown of machines anywhere is capable of causing a major disturbance. Power breakdown or a breakdown in the means of communication can put the whole country out of gear.

Besides, machines work at a tremendous speed. Man finds it difficult to cope with the speed of machines and this creates tension in his mind. Large machines also cause unemployment, or if that is a fallacy, at least they keep on disturbing the pattern of employment. It is easy to conclude that although machines have relieved man of much of his irksome work, they have-not made him happier than before.

Though machines are the creation of man, the last few decades are witnessing their domination over humans.  The period of the industrial revolution between 1760 and 1840 saw an upsurge of mechanical equipment overtaking manual labour. The industrial revolution replaced man with machines leading to unemployment and low wages to labourers.

Even today, devices like smartphones, computers, microwaves, cars, etc. are an ingenious part of our everyday life.   Although the advent of machines is making life more comfortable, it is harming humans and the environment.  The radiation emissions of smartphones and microwaves pose health concerns.  People who use these devices are higher at risk of suffering from cancer in comparison to people who do not use them.  Furthermore, vehicular pollution is the primary cause of the depletion of the ozone layer.

Undoubtedly, it isn’t easy to carry out our routine work without the aid of machines.  However, we should monitor our growing dependency on machines. We should not become the slaves of our creation.  Thus, we should limit our reliance on mechanical tools for everything. There can be no comparison between man and machine.

How much does an essay cost?

Starting your search for an agency, you need to carefully study the services of each option. There are a lot of specialists in this area, so prices vary in a wide range. But you need to remember that the quality of work directly depends on the cost. Decide immediately what is more important to you - financial savings or the result.

Companies always indicate how much 1000 characters of text costs, so that the client understands what price to expect and whether it is worth continuing to cooperate.

At Essayswriting, it all depends on the timeline you put in it. Professional authors can write an essay in 3 hours, if there is a certain volume, but it must be borne in mind that with such a service the price will be the highest. The cheapest estimate is the work that needs to be done in 14 days. Then 275 words will cost you $ 10, while 3 hours will cost you $ 50. Please, take into consideration that VAT tax is totally included in the mentioned prices. The tax will be charged only from EU customers.

When choosing an agency, try to pay more attention to the level of professionalism, and then evaluate the high cost of work.
